Reported an issue with the build quality of my dumbbells set via the online form on their website, received 1 reply from Matej that did not address my issue at all and stated because I did not order from them directly they would be unable to help me? Despite the documents enclosed with my set directing me to reach out to them DIRECTLY. I followed up clarifying my issue and was ignored completely, I guess you really did know you cheap out on the spin locks (plastic Vs Iron) and decided ignoring me would be better. Well I guess I won't be buying my extra iron plates from you guys since you don't even know the procedures you outline in your included documentation 👎

Update: After leaving this review, I was contacted by York Fitness' PR team who flagged the issue internally. Following that, I finally received a response and was sent a set of metal spinlocks, which properly addressed the issue I'd originally raised, along with some additional bar clamps as a goodwill gesture.

While I do appreciate the resolution and the items received, it's worth noting this only happened after my Trustpilot review drew attention to the problem. Prior to that, my initial support ticket was brushed off, and my follow-up message went completely ignored for 9 days. It shouldn't take public pressure to get a basic customer service issue acknowledged, especially when the enclosed documentation directed me to contact them in the first place.

I've updated my rating to reflect that they did eventually make things right, but the experience left me questioning how many customers are simply left hanging without ever getting a response.

Matej was brilliant when I emailed a query about my exercise bike. Replied almost immediately and solved the problem. Thank you.

I had a terrible experience with York Fitness. I needed some equipment for an event which was just over a week away.

The delivery was 3-5 days so was happy to order having 7 days before the event.

12 days later and there are still tuings missing from my order. I tried to negotiate an amicable outcome but they weren't willing to offer me a partial refund and I have to send the already delivered items back.

Very frustrating and time consuming. Order elsewhere if I were you.

Despite a missing part, the sales team had the part dispatched the same day I made the inquiry. Mistakes happen and that is how you want them dealt with. Great job!

Ordered a plate set + bar. Saved me nearly £100 on a comparable set elsewhere on the internet and is excellent quality. Delivery was straightforward and a small hitch was fixed without delay.

I had a minor issue with one of my products, but Matej dealt with it quickly and efficiently. Top class customer service 👍🏽

Just had to order a part for my old multi gym. Unfortunately i could find the part number on my old assembly instructions so i contacted customer services to see if they could help. After a few emails back and forth they tracked down the correct part for me, many thanks Matej for all your help.

A few years back I had a York bench, and regretted selling it, so decided to buy another. They had a good deal on so I got the bench and some weights.

The stuff arrived but I was missing a piece, so York sent it out next day delivery. And a few days later I noticed that one of the spin collars didn't work, they quickly sent another barbell, and even swapped it to the smooth one at my request.

So overall a good experience, a couple of hiccups but they were sorted out quickly and satisfactorily.

Fantastic customer service - I made a mistake with my order & the team very swiftly & kindly corrected it for me & did not charge.
The order was for a dumbbell set to complement an existing set I have which must be at least 10 years old so I can confirm these are sturdy weights!

Ordered a started Set including 80kg weights bench barbell bar and unfortunately the bar was damaged. After a quick email a new one is being sent out and I am very happy.

First time buying and dealing with York customer services… I am not displeased! lol. So I order the curl bar set with the ISO plates. The plates did not arrive, instead I had a pallet with my order (minus ISO) emailed them, sent a picture, got a reply straight away and thereafter. Less than an hour later and it’s been resolved. DHL will be delivering the missing plates and it was so stress free I needed to write an essay to explain it. THANKS TO THE TEAM! stress free experience

I bought a set of barbells however due to what looks like extremely bad handling by the courier it arrived in a very bad state. Parts missing and damaged etc. The customer service was second to none and a perfect replacement has been received in double quick time. I would fully recommend buying from this company.

Appalling behaviour and communication by YORK. Their delivery company dropped the weight barbell which was poorly packaged (cardboard secured at the end with just with tape). They smashed the masonry at the front of my house. Luckily nobody hurt. York refused to take responsibility as it was a third party delivery company that delivered them despite citizens advice indicating they’re responsible as the contract is with them. Having to now progress to small claims to get my property prepared. It’s really not on at all they’ve been so unhelpful and horrible to deal with. All I want is for the damage they’re responsible for to be repaired.

Ordered a 100kg weight set to get started, as well as two 1.5kg weights.

The set arrived together without issue. The two 1.5kg weights were not sent out, but a single e-mail to York Fitness' team and they arrived 2 days later.

The quality looks to be very good, and their customer service is very helpful and quick to respond!

Just purchased the 150kg Olympic set at an amazing price, compared to other companies out there who are charging nearly double, with the Olympic bar making the total weight 170kg. I also purchased an Olympic Curl Bar along with two sets of Olympic collars. One set of collars were missing, and i sent an email, and received an immediate reply, and the missing collars were quickly dispatched, with no fuss. Fantastic service and products that i am already breaking in, and i have been able to add several more exercise routines to my garage gym setup, thank you.

The true test of a business is how they respond when things don't go as expected.
In that regard York Fitness have just excelled themselves.
I bought a single Barbell that was shown as being a specific weight (5kg), this would match my current one. It arrived and was actually 4.1kg (with collars) so I asked their customer service how I could rectify. They got back to me today to apologise and recognised the error on the website, which they have now corrected. They have also sent me another bar, free of charge, so I can have a matching pair!
Just awesome service and I'm never likely to go anywhere else for my weights, in fact I'm likely to spend a little more as a token of appreciation for them being so lovely. Genuinely impressed.
