Firstly, I bought the Webb WEPWT 56cm (22") Petrol Wheeled Line Trimmer in july to use primarily on a small patch of wildflower meadow at the end of the season. It arrived, was assembled and tried out on a small patch of lawn, worked fine. A couple of weeks ago I fired it up to do a first pass over the wildflowers, I got through most of it and upon hearing a metallic clunk I stopped it. Next to the trimmer I found a spring which after searching through the manual turned out to be a tensioner spring for the belt drive to the trimmer head. The spring was broken and upon examining the underside of the machine I was shocked that there was no spigot to keep the spring in place and prevent it from sliding off. The broken part costs £2.80 but is out of stock for 2 months.
Secondly, I contacted Customer Service at Webb, provided all details, invoices etc. Their reply was bring it 50 miles to nearest Service Agent or send it back to Webb, a refund not being possible. Neither of these alternatives seemed feasible given the £2.80 cost of the part. All of my subsequent mails to Webb have been ignored. So, I have now ordered the spring from Mowers & Spares and my local mower workshop will fit the part along with a retaining spigot.
Lesson learnt, no more sub-standard Webb products, ever!
Very poor customer services
Very poor customer services. Lawnmower needing a carburettor during the warranty period. A million paranoid questions trying to offload the blame.
Do yourself a favour and buy another brand.
Major Design Faults
Be aware Webb electric lawnmowers have major design faults.
I purchased a 37cm electric lawnmower 6 months ago and within 3 months one of the bolts connecting the handle at the bottom sheared off.
They did replace it FOC but within 6 months the grooves on the plastic handle mechanism have all worn away so I can no longer have different positions. Customer service was very dismissive having no sympathy and blamed operator for overtightening the mechanism.
Also, the plastic cover where the grass collector box goes keeps coming off.
Overall, poorly made lawnmower.
Great Cordless mower very powerful but…
Great Cordless mower very powerful but still lightweight, rang customer services with a silly question, spoke to a human who solved my issue straight away.
Some of the worse customer services I…
Some of the worse customer services I have ever encountered. See also webbgardenpower. Bought a self propelled mower, hit a stone which caused the blade to bend (not badly but it needed replacing) but I discovered the bolts threads were totally wrecked. It had been cross threaded during manufacturing and forced in with a windy gun or similar. These muppets are trying to claim the bolt bent by a minor impact, a lot less forceful than previous mowers have taken without issue. They are trying to hide poor build quality and selling goods not fit for purpose.

Suction quality very bad had to manually put the cut grass from floor into bin
So disappointed with Webb
Purchased a Pressure washer, Wepw220, 2200W (165 BAR) Great box saying how they were a trusted UK brand but the item as usual was made in China. Opened the box and it looked great. Put on all the attachments and then tried to connect the pressure hose! Fittings are the wrong size, so it is totally useless. Can't connect the adapter for the input hose and can't connect the pressure hose to the output! Very disappointed, thought buying a Webb product wouldn't have any problems!!
Bought a self propelled lawnmower in winter
Bought a self propelled lawnmower in January. Didnt use it till after the first 30 days, apparently if you report a failure after that they want you to pay for postage and £50 diagnoses fee.
If you do get one, make sure and use it / file a claim within the first 30 days if not working
For balance i had the same model before which lasted 3 years till i bashed it off a tree stump, disappointed the new one wasnt so reliable!
Not good
I purchased a petrol self propelled webb lawnmower. Ran pretty good for the first 3 years with some small repairs needed but year 4 onwards it is constantly giving trouble. If you love to take things apart and fix them frequently purchase a webb lawnmower.
DREADFUL CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND SERVICE
I purchased an electric scarifier and lawn rake. On unboxing the machine two parts were missing. On contacting the company via their (and I use the word loosely) customer services, they couldn't have been less helpful and downright arkward.
I would neither purchase from this company nor recommend anybody does. The products they sell are inferior and not fit for purpose.
The Webb 20v33cm mower is good except ….
The Webb 20v33cm mower is good except for one obvious issue which is covered in numerous reviews on the QVC website. The motor cuts out because when the pull-up starter handle reaches the foam padding protector to the horizontal push handle as it cannot be pulled any further. If you pull the starter handle very tight, the problem largely goes away. Like others, I was going to return the mower, indeed QVC was happy for it to be returned but I’d already appreciated that it was much lighter and was cutting the grass without grinding into the soil. I suppose if I had say 100sqm of lawn to mow, it might have made my shoulders, arms or hands almost cramp up. But if your lawn is under 50sqm you can run this mower over in less than 10 minutes. The battery is good to go, just change it over to the strimmer or do the strimming first, both jobs can be completed within one charge of the battery which slides comfortably into the fixtures. I’m not going to remove the padding on the push handle but if I did, I suspect there would be no cutting out of the motor. I think Webb might have already realised that by now!
I have a DV0175 petrol mower.
I have a DV0175 petrol mower.
It is very nearly impossible to start. Usually takes half an hour, upwards of 50 pulls, and at least one rest periood.
Anyone got any ideas, short of scrapping it (but I'm tempted) ?

Purchased for £300 43cms mower when worked, great, lasted just one season. A load of rubbish.
Awful product
Awful product. Not built to last
Half a summer before motor burns out, should have kept my corded lawnmower. Do not buy there products they won’t last
Awful , avoid at all costs
Rubbish they miss sell a so called warranty, I used my mower 6x through out summer, and the handle broke on the weld, it was only 6 months old, when I tried to claim on there so called warranty webbs said it was my fault!!! How can it possibly be my fault thats clearly a manufacturing fault... they then went on to try and sell me the handle!!
Will never use this company again, avoid at all costs, I have reported them to trading standards too
Disgraceful Service
Disgraceful Service. I had a Webb 58cm Walk-Behind Vacuum & Blower delivered on Friday and I assembled it over the weekend. I tried the engine out but after a couple of starts, the pull cord was locked in place and would not move. I spoke to a Webb 'Customer Service Agent' who was extremely unhelpful and directed me to a company who he told me look after B & S engines. They knew nothing at all about any warranty deal with Webb or B & S. I went back to the 'Customer Dis-Service Agent' and he 'verbally' shrugged his shoulders and told me he could do nothing for me. This machine hasn't even been used other than the original two test starts
I purchased a WER18HW4 self propelled…
I purchased a WER18HW4 self propelled mower, wish I hadn't bothered, the clutch on when engaging the drive is so vicious the mower takes off at great speed with no ability to use slow speeds and the main concern is either the wheelbase is too short or the collection bag is too long, when just over half full it tips the mower up with the front wheels off the ground so makes it very uncomfortable to use as you wind up not only steering it but holding the handle up to try and keep the cutting blade level with the grass, will have to sell it on as it does my back in.
Webb Eco Lawnmower Review after 6 month use
This is a decent product for the price. I've had it for 6 months. My previous was a Hayter 42 petrol mower. NB You should not be buying this (or any other battery powered lawnmower) to 'replace/compare to' a petrol mower and expect it to be the same. They are not comparable - just like a horse and a car aren't comparable.
Battery powered mowers are typically made of lighter materials (eg plastic) this makes them easier to manoeuvre / carry and allows for increased battery time. It also makes them less robust, less powerful and in need of more recharging in big gardens. It's just a fact. My lawn is approx 100' x 100' and was quite long and wet at first cut. It needed 3 cutter heights to get the grass to where I wanted it.( Even with my old Hayter it took 2 cuts -because long wet grass can clog ANY blades). This took about 75-85 minutes total and the batteries did the work on a single charge.. (You need to let the blade get up to speed and use slow steady steps or you will suffer blockage. Batteries need time to FULLY charge (4 hours first time in my case) and then less than 1 hour re-charge per time over the summer. I typically cut every 7-10 days which is one cut in about 20 minutes but after 2+ weeks holiday it use 2 cuts / 45 mins at different heights. Both worked on a single charge. My Hayter service at the local mower place (which I did every 2 years) cost me £140+ VAT. Webb batteries are £30-50 each and I can fit them myself. Do I miss my lugging around my heavy metal Hayter that started (almost) every time with a couple of pulls on the rope?? Yes, but only because petrol engines are cool and manly and plastic battery powered mowers are not. I bought the 43cm Webb Eco with a 50ltr bin.
Cheap and very nasty
Simply the worst lawn mower I’ve ever owned… obviously this once prestigious brand are simple buying cheap Chinese crap and badging it up.

Decent Mains Electric Mower
I have downsized house and also by necessity lawnmower: from an old large Hayter self-propelled petrol mower to the "tiny" Webb ER33 RR Electric Lawnmower. I didn't expect much but for the price and it's size, it is doing a reasonable job of cutting the lawn. I think the rear roller is a bit of a gimmick but, as advertised, it does enable me to mow up to the flower bed without the wheels falling off the edge. I don't like the "quick fold handles" and the cut could be a bit better BUT for a small lawn, it is fine.
