Outstanding service from Kieran at…
Outstanding service from Kieran at Mercedes-Benz of Hamilton. I walked into the dealership on the Saturday and by the following Thursday I had my new car and my old car traded in. When I picked my new car up Kieran took the time to explain all the car’s new features that I may otherwise not have know existed.
Brilliant experience Kieran (and delighted with the car). Cheers mate.
Overpriced and poor service
Took a company vehicle to Motus Mercedes Norwich for urgent repair, had a price quoted and agreed. Two hours later the door still wouldn't lock, a new one had been fitted after drilling a hole in the door to remove it only to find that it wasn't the issue. A further two hours later spent investigating and 'chasing the electrics' to try and find the problem.
We needed the vehicle back but had to pay upfront before we were allowed to take it away (despite using them before) and labour charge of £560 (£140 an hour) plus the door lock and parts resulted in a bill of over £700+VAT with nothing having been fixed.
No communication when costs started to escalate, just a 'we said it might cost more if we find another problem' when it was queried. Reading reviews, it seems this is not uncommon across Mercedes. Overpriced and reluctant to reduce bills, even if the problem is not fixed. Will go elsewhere in future.
Avoid Mercedes Benz Croydon. Disgustingly Rude & Dismissive
Hi Mercedes Benz Croydon,
I would like to officially log a complaint regarding the poor level of service I received last week. My Mercedes V-Class suddenly stopped and decided to go into limp mode, therefore I had to call breakdown to recover my vehicle and take it to your Croydon branch. I booked an appointment with them to have the vehicle checked and diagnosed if possible. The following day i received a call from a gentlemen called Ryan explaining that an aftermarket mileage blocker was fitted to the back of my steering wheel. Which made absolutely no sense to me because I wouldn't know how to access the back of any steering wheel to fit a blocker. I explained that the vehicle was purchased a while ago, so i needed some assistance in rectifying the problem. I was told by Ryan, that your service department refused to work on my vehicle and i should arrange a tow truck to collect the vehicle and recover it elsewhere. What infuriated me more was he still had the decency to ask me to pay the investigation fee. I will be escalating this matter to my solicitors and the Motor Ombudsman.
Avoid this dealer, they will ignore you once you have an issue with your car
My car was broken into 2 weeks ago, after calling my insurance, I contacted the Mercedes road assistance that works with the RAC to collect the car and send it to a garage because it couldn't be left on the road with the window glasses shattered. To my biggest surprise, the advisor I spoke to said that in addition to collecting the car they will arrange for the dealership to have it fixed for me free of charge. Of course I was happy with that and asked them to take the car and I cancelled my insurance claim. This incident happened on Monday 22/04/2024. On Monday 29/04/2024 I received a call from this dealer's service team telling me that they wouldn't fix the car free of charge and that I would need to pay for it, I was shocked I tried to explain what was promised to me by Mercedes RAC but they refused to listen and said that they could NEVER advise me that they could fix the car for me free of charge it's not includedin my warranty. It came to me as a shock because they were literally telling me that I was a liar. After 2 days of a horrible back and forth with them, they insisted that they never ever said that to me and that I had to pay for the repair or collect the car myself and have it repaired elsewhere because they would NOT fix it for me. The lady was so rude to me on the phone she even hung up the line on me. I raised a complaint via email but no one replied to my email. I tried to call no one got back to me. Horrible customer experience! Anyway to get myself out of this as I was tired of being ignored, I called a day later asking them if I could pay for the damages... well to my biggest surprise they refused to take my payment over the phone saying that only the person dealing with my issue could sort this out and would contact me back!! Can you imagine this? But that's it, another 2 days later, no one has contacted me back, I emailed and called everyday single day since no one is replying to my calls and emails. I am completely being ignored and they still have my car.I mean I use and need my car for work and now I am stranded. It's been 2 weeks. They decided to ignore me after a silly dispute where THEY gave me the wrong information in the first place. I work in customer service myself and I have never seen this type of treatment. I only had the car for 4 months and I bought it brand new from this dealer, I am shocked!!
Mercedes Benz, Lacquer coming off
Last December I noticed the lacquer on my cars spoiler and panel in between the sunroof and front windscreen was coming off from the paint. I contacted the garage which it was purchased from and organised for them to see the issue. One must say at this stage they were very helpful. I was told at this meeting that the colour of my car (red) is prone to getting ‘boils’, which is a first issue as to why it wasn’t recalled and rectified. From this it was, for some reason, determined due to the cars “age and millage” that they would not sort the lacquer coming off even though it was a fault of Mercedes. For reference, the car is a 17 plate with 35K miles, purchased new in 2017 and is otherwise prime condition. Nonetheless regardless of age or millage this is not something in which should be happening to a car of this high calibre. I thus lodged a complaint with the customer service team in January, who again were helpful and was passed to head office. I am still awaiting to hear the result of this after calling to check the update of the complaint every few weeks and with us now in May. I find it appalling that this issue which has been no fault of my own, is clearly a fault of Mercedes Benz and would be easy to sort was not rectified straight away. I love my car, however this experience makes me not want to purchase a vehicle from Mercedes Benz in the future.
Electrical Faults ongoing Mercedes GLE…
I purchased a local used Mercedes GLE from the dealership at Weston-Super-Mare in June 2022.
I cannot fault the salesman or the young ladies on reception. However, I can find fault with the vehicle and the way the service team has handled this problematic car.
I was overjoyed when I purchased my new vehicle which had only covered 4949 miles. I chose the lovely blue, it had very low miles and had everything I wanted inside the car.
At the time of purchase I didn’t ask to see any of the cars history.
When the vehicle was taken out for a test drive, the boot of the vehicle was covered in dog hair and the rear drivers seat was damaged and blemished.
Why wasn’t this addressed before going onto the forecourt for sale… I had to book this in at a later date to get a new seat fitted.
They cleaned the car before the handover of the dog hair which was nice of the dealership.
I would suggest anyone purchasing a used vehicle from this dealership request the service history of the car before making the purchase as it may save you time, money and hassle in the future. Numerous electrical faults are listed in the history with the vehicle. Alarm siren. Parking light function. ESP control unit. Traction System Control. Multifunction Camera and now the Augmented camera.
I first noticed a problem when parked up for the night in London. The following morning when i went back to the car, the boot was fully open..
I booked it in with the service department at Weston-Super-Mare to get it looked at, fortunately for me it was under warranty.
At this point, i thought that it maybe just a one off…
Then other electrical problems started to go wrong with the vehicle. Not long after my purchase and with the car only covering 6598, I had an electrical fault with the multifunction camera. Months later, outside of the warranty and the car covering 21K the lens hood of the multifunction camera overheated so i had to part pay for a new multifunction camera.
I mention that I had to part pay as by the time the lens had overheated it was just outside of its warranty. The other costs were met by mbuk.
Then other problems occurred with the battery light coming on in the vehicle. It went back to Weston for this to be checked. They reset it on their computer.
They go on to say that we will need to run a diagnostics on the vehicle which is charged at £178 per hour to check the electrics. Or we don’t do the diagnostics and go ahead to fit a new Augmented camera costing me in excess of £800.
19/12/23 - An A service was carried out - slight play on the steering rack mileage @ 20K They would keep an eye out on this at the next service and would mean the removal of the steering rack, which is a major and costly job no doubt.
The service team and i quote “these things happen”….
As of the end of April 2024, we are not spending anymore money on this vehicle and have handed it back to the dealership.
Oh, I forgot to mention… a number of years ago, I purchased an E class from the dealership and the people who were working on my vehicle at that time didn’t put enough oil in my vehicle…! They switched the engine on and… the car needed a new engine. The engine seized.
To end… Purchase of a mercedes at this dealership or any Mercedes car and 3rd time lucky…. I’ll pass.
Avoid Mercedes but DEFINITELY avoid Marshalls Mercedes
UPDATE:
On 31/05/24 I finally got an update via Santander the financing company… NOT Mercedes Customer Services or the Dealership.
My complaint relates to an undisclosed missing service for 2022…
The Dearler excuse is that the Covid restriction relaxations allowed for services to be missed… these restrictions were lifted in 2021…
So now I’m waiting for MB Customer Service to provide further guidance.
My complaint was opened in March 2024 and this far, the Dealership has not bothered to respond to Mercedes Customer Service.
This brand must be an absolute joke if the own Dealerships can ignore information request and their own complaints standards.
So to anyone reading this considering buying a Mercedes… don’t bother… go somewhere else other than this shambles of a brand.
The history of my complaint is below…
I purchased an Approved Used Mercedes in the final days of January 2024 from Marshalls of Bolton.
I purchased the vehicle through a non-Mercedes PCP, on terms which I believe were very competitive, given the vehicles Approved Used status, mileage and overall condition.
I was extremely impressed with the Marshalls efforts to deliver the vehicle and complete the sale.
However, a few weeks into ownership, I learnt that the vehicle did not have a full service history (something which Marshall’s must have been aware of from the earliest point of purchase).
As such, the vehicle did not conform to the Mercedes Approved Used standards, which guaranteed a through history and mileage check, nor does the vehicle conform to the warranty requirements of being serviced in accordance with Mercedes Benz vehicle services standards.
Both of these have serious repercussions in relation to the future value of the vechiel and as such, the associated PCP agreement.
I contacted Marshalls and raised my concerns that they had failed to advise me of the vehicles condition/history. Despite assurances from the Marshalls, that they would either provide the missing service records and/or further advice, nothing has ever been provided.
As such, I was forced to escalate my concern to Mercedes Benz Customers Services UK in March ’24. They too have contacted Marshall’s, but have yet to receive a full response despite acknowledging they do not have the missing service record.
Having owned other premium brand vehicles, I am extremely disappointed with the Customer Service standards of Mercedes Benz and Marshalls.
I am still not in receipt of any formal reply to my concerns.
I would advise anyone seeking to purchase a premium vehicle, to avoid the Mercedes Benz brand. In my experience, the premium image Mercedes Benz seeks to portray is an utter illusion more closely aligned to Vauxhall in the 90’s.
If you must have a Mercedes, then I would advise to avoid Marshalls of Bolton… If only due to the their non-existent approach to concerns/complaints.
As for the Marshalls Mercedes dealer group, I would certainly advise a mystery shopper exercise to ensure vehicles are not being mis-sold and other people are not put at financial risk.
Wouldn't even give them 1 star Breakdown and Service abominable
Wouldn't even give them 1 star. Had EQC car for few years on lease broken down more times than any car I have ever owned and I've been driving 30 years. To top it off they use RAC as their breakdown provider. Happy to leave you on the side of the road for 10 plus hours on more than one occasion. Try and complain you are offered £100 vouchers, they have no Alternative Dispute Resolution signed up to, so no where else to complain they think their service is second to none. Absolutely Awful. Still arguing after 5 months this is not the first time stranded for hours on end just lucky I didn't have my young children in the car!
Mercedes Benz Arnold Clark Inverness - lack of customer care.
Mercedes Benz - Arnold Clark - Inverness
Fed up and really not happy with the lack of communication and no reply to my emails and telephone call back requests.
It’s very sad to see such a reputable company like Mercedes Benz being dragged down by what I can only describe as very poor customer care.
I have had multiple issues with engine management light showing on my dash and I was recommended by customer service that next time the light shows it’s recommended to change the turbo uplift exhaust sensor and to phone and/or email to arrange a car replacement.
I’ve also had to return the car because the dash board said remove excess oil ..,. But investigation showed that the car had been overfilled by 3/4 ltrs.
I have to now ask for my car to be valeted.
I sometimes get offered a tea/coffee on arrival which is always nice after a commute from Elgin to Inverness.
I sent 3 emails last week requesting that my car is fixed with no reply so I have gone higher to Arnold Clark customer service complaints and I still have not had a reply. I phoned to request a callback after leaving my name and VRN and I still have not had a return call. Tried calling customer service again this morning and the phone just rings out ……awful customer service. I’m in 2 minds to cancel all my service plans and go to a Mercedes Benz only dealer with no “ Arnold Shark” experience attached .
If Mercedes Benz of Germany learned of this I’m sure action will be taken. (My German wife has email chain ready to send to MB HQ)
Nearly 5 weeks have passed since last check and a week later the management light reappeared on dash.
Arnold Clark - please sort out this matter with swiftness as you are dragging down the Quality care that Mercedes Benz have worked so hard to achieve over all these years.
EQA ELECTRIC CAR
EQA ELECTRIC CAR
After purchasing this car, only to find that the car breaks down with so much regularity, that it gives me no confidence in driving the vehicle as I have to commute with a baby.
I have been back to Mercedes several times for repairs, including replacing a brand new battery but the car still persist with the same faults.
These faults started in the first few week of having the vehicle, and after numerous requests to change the vehicle, Lookers Mercedes of Shrewsburybut would not take the vehicle back.
There was not option to sell or trade the vehicle as the depreciation plummeted.
Although Mercedes know that we use the vehicle with a small child, this leaves me in a position that I can't use the car incase it stops on me, only my husband has the confidence to drive it.
It is most embrassing,as when this vehicle stops, it leaves us in dangerous situations as the car cannot be moved.
Please be aware if you are thinking of buying one of these Mercedes especially from Lookers.

Mercedes’s Cambridge
Bought a new car from Mercedes Cambridge.
Good service but they took a holding deposit for the log book which arrived three days later. Three weeks later still haven’t received the £500 back even with ringing and emails beware this is a complete con and no other dealerships do this. Now having to go through the chargeback process. Last car I buy from them. Mercedes in general are very poor now no management no customer service and terrible franchises.
Siddiq Niaz at MB Newcastle upon Tyne….lovely guy
I met Siddiq Niaz at MB Newcastle upon Tyne for my cars 2nd service this week. Siddiq was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable making me feel reassured that my car was in good hands. When I collected the car Siddiq had it ready and waiting for me all clean and hoovered out. Top guy, great customer experience

Service carried out by Ford garage due to covid. Told them to use ony geniune parts. Day after service oil leak which they tried to repair with glue. Car returned to garage, they replied again. Approx 3000miles later terrible knocking noise. Returned to local mercedes garage. Had independent engineer to strip engine where is conclusion was.
Slipped bearing shell on no 2 piston.
Mechanic indicated there where 2 other engines on garage floor with same problems and it was not due to oil. Also non approved oil filter again not fitted correctly.
Why have there been no recall on these engines. My car had only done 27,000 mils.
I have been treated disgracefully buy Mercedes and will publish. I was told by castrol oil used can cause catastrophic engine problems and letter from mercedes the same outcome.

Recently was thinking of buying airplay for my GLC.
luckily i did not, as the car was written off by insurance.
Airplay stays with the car not the buyer.
so would have been a total waste of money.
sort out this nonsense,, either supply it with the vehicle, or lock it to the buyer.
Why are 75% of Mercedes Benz's Trustpilot ratings 1 star
Because you can't give 0 stars! And, given how it appears nobody from MB ever responds or follows up the 1 star reviews why am I wasting my own time in doing just that. Yet, still.........
I have a 2018 AMG GTC that has covered 19,000 miles. This is a £130,000 'supercar', allegedly.
On 15th February the car developed a fault and brought on the EML.
The vehicle was trailered to my local dealership and after 3 weeks, the fault was still not known.
Error codes pointed to a gearbox issue, symptoms pointed to a gearbox issue.
Merc’s solution - replace the gearbox! Car is 5 years old, has covered 19k and has full MB history as well as the gearbox service, according to the schedule. I have to question whether, had the car been under MB warranty, would this be the fix - as that would be at Merc’s expense.
No goodwill offered from Mercedes group - “due to age and mileage of vehicle”. I should expect a gearbox failure on a £130,000 car at 5 years old, with 19k on the clock, should I?
The response I received from MB Group was so curt, it was like I was wasting their time in even bothering them with with my issue - "this is our final decision on the matter, and I should proceed with the repair at my expense" sort of response. Nice, thanks for being so understanding.
I’ve had to arrange for the car to go to a gearbox specialist, who has already likely diagnosed the issue over the phone following my description of the symptoms, for something that Merc and AMG could not do in 3 weeks.
I’ve also had to pay over £430 for the privilege of Merc not being able to diagnose my issue and due to the fact that I refused to accept the guaranteed fix of a replacement gearbox, at my expense, totalling over £16k.
I am advised by specialists that Mercedes are aware of a common fault with the 7 speed auto box. Since my issue, I've discovered there are automatic gearbox specialists across the country who will not work on the 7 speed DCT auto box because they advise that the gearbox is prone to failure and they have previously been burnt by fixing them in the past only for them to fail again and MB won't get involved. Despite this, Mercedes have washed their hands of the issue unless I agree to replace the gearbox, at my expense. Who has EVER had a gearbox failure in a car at 19,000 miles, at 5 years old, driving out of a car park at 5mph?
I’m communicating my experience of the past 7 weeks (yes, that’s how long this has been rumbling on and how long I have been without the car) across all my social media platforms, owners clubs, etc., in the hope that others will read them and think seriously before paying out good money on what are, in my experience, unfit for purpose vehicles.
Merc Weybridge #CouldntBeLessHelpful
So my year old c class was sat unused for 2 hours and when I went to start it there was a horrendous noise coming from the back of the car. I’m 2 hours from home so I thought going to a Mercedes dealer was a good idea. So I’m sitting in the car park of Mercedes World, a huge Mercedes place, waiting for recovery having been told by the dealership that they could not do anything and to call for recovery. So I’ve been sitting in my car for 2.5 hours now and to add insult to injury all I can see are Mercedes signs all over the huge building. The mercedes dealer could not have been any less helpful if they tried !!! #AppallingService
