Poor service from Stratford
Appalling complaints handling.
I contacted Mercedes UK over a month ago regarding an issue with my car that makes it unsafe to drive (Mercedes dealer classified it as 'unsafe to drive'). The car has remained at the dealership ever since. A complaints case number was raised but every time I contact Mercedes UK to find out what is happening I am told someone is dealing with it and they will contact me. Nobody as yet from Mercedes has ever contacted me. Every time I phone they say they cannot forward my call, they cannot provide the details of who is managing the complaint and they have no escalation process to allow me to speak to anybody else.
The Mercedes web site proudly states 'We aim to resolve all complains within 5 working days', this is clearly not what they achieve.
My biggest issue it that they seem to have a corporate policy to provide anonymity for their staff so that nobody need take any ownership of problems.
All in all - absolutely appalling complaints handling!
I am searching for a used EQC recently
I am searching for a used EQC recently, and am interested in one at West London showroom. Trying to contact them and ask for details, surprisingly come back with a higher price. They claim that is a mistake, but couple days later, same car has been posted again with wrong price. I did complaint to their head office, have not hear anything but asking me for personal details. Really disappointed with such global company.
£2000+ Light letting in water after 3.5 years
I have a 3.5 year old E350 cabriolet. The left light has let in water which has in turn blown the light control box and this is £2700. If the light is worth that much money then it shouldn’t let water in after 3.5 years.
Warning to all MB owners having an amber engine management light (EML) - Chelmsford branch
This is a real warning to all MB owners who experience an amber engine management light (EML) issue on their dashboard. The Chelmsford branch was extremely unprofessional in dealing with my case. Whilst they may provide a needed service to other car owners, their complete disregarding and lack of due diligence in carrying out the diagnosis and proposing the replacement and in handling my complaint afterwords is absolutely appalling. Lucky, another MB branch was very helpful and resolve the issue in a single visit in which I believe its service team did their due diligence. I would like to share my terrible experience from a customer perspective and hope it will help if any of you have an amber engine management light (EML) issue and suffer a similar experience.
What Happened?
In Jan 2023, the engine warning light turned on Amber on my Car's dashboard but the driving was totally fine;
In Feb 23, my 1st visit to the MB Chelmsford branch for Diagnosis service re the warning light and paid £120 for the service. At the end of the visit, I was advised that nothing was wrong and the learning value was reset and the light was off. But within two weeks of driving, the amber light came back;
In May 23 (due to the extra long booking waiting period), my 2nd visit to the MB Chelmsford branch for a further diagnosis. I was advised that the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAFS) was faulty and that caused the Amber light. But they didn't have the part stock so asked me to wait for the delivery. They reset the learning value and the light was off on the day. But within two weeks of driving, the amber light came back;
In Aug 23 (due to the extra long booking waiting period), my 3rd visit to the MB Chelmsford branch for the replacement of the MAFS. I paid £520.02 for the part and labour. The warning light was off after the replacement on the day. But within two weeks of driving, the amber light came back;
In Nov 23, my 4th visit to the MB Chelmsford branch for a further diagnosis. In this particular visit, I requested the branch to have an extended check by a more experienced technician due to the previous 3 failed visits. However, I was advised at the end of the day that nothing was wrong but just a loose screw. The warning light was off on the day. But within two weeks of driving, the amber light came back;
In Jan 24, I lost my confidence that the Chelmsford branch would ever fix this issue so my 5th visit to another MB branch for an independent view and check. I was advised that they carried out an extra smoke test and identified an air leak from a split seal ring on a turbo pipe. But I had to pay them for their diagnosis and the part replacement. I paid the amount and got the part replaced on the day. The branch staff advised me that they believed the MAFS was not necessary to be replaced by the Chelmsford branch as the real cause was the split seal ring. I was surprised that they told me about this but felt the staff were responsible for me as their customer. (I am glad the amber light hasn't been back since this visit!!).
My request to MB: For the same issue, why should I, as the customer, pay the diagnosis service and repairs twice? Due to the fact of the EML keeping come back in a constant timing and pattern, I was not convinced the Chelmsford branch actually identified the true cause so requested the full refund of my 1st diagnosis and repairs payment.
Then the nasty thing happened! The branch service manager completely denied any responsibilities and rejected the request by a few points but his main argument was ‘It is entirely feasible for a car to have more than one component/cause for the same fault’!!!??? He tried to offer £400 as ‘a goodwill gesture only’ at the same time. Of course, I rejected it. If MB apply this logic to their diagnosis practice, no one can really prove any misjudgements by their service teams whatsoever as they can always say there are 2 or 3 or 4 real faults to cause the same issue! I really felt sick about his reply and could not believe this is MB!
For the same issue I had to pay MB for the diagnosis service twice and to pay for two different part replacement. This simply just can not be right. We should only need to pay for the diagnosis service once and MB should identify the real cause with that payment. I, as the customer, should only need to pay for the replacement of the real fault.
MB Chelmsford had 4 chances to fix this issue but they have never resolved it while another MB Branch resolved this in a single visit. 4 visits means 8 trips to and back and means 4 half day's my times. Whoever is right or wrong in this dispute, the service manager's team didn't resolve the problem and the 4 visits did cause some inconvenience to myself. This was the fact. The service manager ignored all of these and his handling of this matter was truly ugly!
Very disappointed
Very disappointed ,
I took my car under warranty to check my driver side mirror not folding, after few days I was awaiting.I went to collect my car in merceds-Benz colindale , I saw scratch all over my mirror Cover.
"I had a disappointing experience with Mercedes-Benz Colindale. I've been waiting for the past three days to check the camera To see if im wright. and determine if the damage was caused by Mercedes. Unfortunately, no one has gotten back to me, and I'm still waiting for a response. The lack of communication and delay in addressing my concern is highly disappointing. As a customer, I expected better service and prompt assistance. I hope Mercedes-Benz takes this feedback seriously and improves their customer service."And manager not helpful at all.

then after to make sure the problem I went to Mercedes approved garage To my dismay, the technician at this workshop identified the actual issue to be a broken rocker, rather than the injectors as previously diagnosed at your dealership. They promptly rectified the problem and even provided me with video evidence showcasing the broken parts.
I have been fixed my car from them,
My Car driving perfectly now it means the Loughton Mercedes technician diagnose wrong and charge me money for nothing. Please be careful with this Friends I did complain. Nobody bother to call me back or contact me. Even I left a review on Google. I don’t know how the remove from there.

Mercedes GATWICK
Nothing short of a disappointing & frustrating experience with Gatwick Mercedes.
Put my car in for repair @ 9am & wasn't contacted by a single person all day. My 'health check' was completed 7 hours later @ 4pm!... I had to phone myself around 5pm to be told the technician 'Christian' had gone home.
Went to pick up today around 5pm & waited 25 minutes to be seen. People who turned up after were served first & not a single person acknowledged me
Premium brand with Halfords service. Disappointing, frustrating & such a lack of basic communication
Shame on you.
Mercedes Warranty
I have a Mercedes Vito that is 24months old and still well within the manufacturer’s warranty. On Monday 4th.March on my way back from Halifax the message came up on the dash saying ‘ Reduce Engine Oil Level ‘. I’m well aware of the damage that can result to an engine that is being worked with too much oil in the system. Because of this message I called into Ceciley Commercials of Bolton to see if they were able to resolve the problem. Unfortunately they said as the service had been carried out at the Mercedes main agents in Stockport it was their problem to sort out and any work that they ( Ceciley ) carried out to rectify the problem would be chargeable to me . I thought that makers warranty was a global cover throughout the Mercedes network , apparently not . I’m both disappointed and alarmed that this may not be the case but I’m also critical of the rather patronising and condescending attitude shown by the receptionist who dealt with ( or rather ) didn’t deal with the problem.
Changing you Mercedes
The whole experience of selling my car and buying a replacement was so very good at Taunton
All the staff at the showroom were so polite and friendly as i arrived a gentleman in the car park actually help me find a space to park. I have been to many Mercedes showrooms but when walking into Taunton it felt like a breath of fresh air
I was dealt with by Victoria and Naseem both lovely people and a credit to the business, both so proffesional, polite and friendly. Aftersales service has been excellant also, shall use this Mercedes dealer again and will fully recommend them to anyone looking for a a car

I recently had my Mercedes EQC400 serviced by Mercedes Heathrow, 520 Stone Cl, Middlesex UB7 8JU, and received exceptional service from dropping off the car to collecting it the same evening, fully valeted. The experienced was enhanced by the meet and greet staff, specifically Georgie, who is a real credit to the Mercedes Heathrow
AVOID AT ALL COSTS-MERC STOCKPORT DOG 💩
Mercedes chesterfield- avoid at all costs!
Mercedes have had my car since Friday, the only work that needs doing is a tyre change. No updates, no callbacks, they don’t listen. I’m no still without a car, and they still cannot tell me when I will expect it back. Up until now, I’ve had a relatively good experience, but Mercedes chesterfield have left me with a really sour taste. Their customer service is non existent, extremely rude!

I had an outstanding experience at Cheshire Oaks Mercedes Benz, particularly with Jamie Reed in the service department. Jamie's professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional, ensuring my car received top-notch service. Her communication was clear and transparent, providing updates throughout the process. The overall atmosphere at Cheshire Oaks Mercedes Benz reflects a commitment to customer satisfaction, making it a dealership I confidently recommend for excellent service and a seamless experience.
A Professional Experience From Mercedes Benz Southampton That We will Never Forget
Recently bought a new Mercedes GLA from Nicholas Windsor at Mercedes Benz Southampton, and what a service he provided. Keeping us updated on every step from arrival of the car in the UK to the time we drove it away. He took all the stress out of the process, with seamless transparent update, and an overview of the package options and progress from start to finish. A pleasure doing business with him and Mercedes Benz Southampton, I'd recommend him to anyone considering buying a Mercedes. The after service has also been amazing, calling us regularly to make sure that our experience is as we expected and to check if we had any questions about any subject related to use of the car. Well done and thankyou!
Lack of customer service on parts enquiry
I have a 2021 GLC Hybrid. The car is amazing and the regular service is fine. However when it comes to ad hoc enquiry on parts (e.g. windscreen replacement, bumper replacement), the customer service is awful and they don’t respond despite multiple attempts for a month. I will not buy Mercedes car again.
Dishonest, Incompetent and Unprofessional
Solihull After sales- Service Dept
It is a great shame that after over 35 years I will not be buying another Mercedes.
The main reason is the after sales/service department has become dishonest, abysmal and extortionate.
I recently changed the battery in my car. And after a few days I was getting an intermittent fault on the car which was “Stop Car, Leave engine running”. So, I had the alternator checked and it was fine. Then I noticed the clamp on the battery which connects to the positive terminal was loose. At this point there was no other warning light showing. Anyway, the clamp would not tighten, but fiddling around with this resulted in the engine waring light coming on and staying on. So, I took it the garage where I had the battery fitted, their diagnostic computer showed no faults, So I took it to another Mercedes only specialist, now this garage has serviced my car before, and their work record shows on the Mercedes database. They said they could not find a fault and it was almost certainly the battery clamp. At this point the car was working and running fine, So I wanted a second opinion, this is where the fun(not) starts.
I called Mercedes Benz in Birmingham, they told me they had no availability to book in until Mid March (Which I think is really bad considering Birmingham is second city and all that). So they offered me either Solihull or Tamworth. So I booked in with Solihull. Which is a minimum 45 mins drive each way.
The car was booked in for Friday 9th February, I took it in as booked at 9.30am, I added to the comments on the self service check in about the battery clamp.
I got a call at 2.30pm saying they had an issue and the car had not even been looked at. I was given the choice of either picking the car up and rebooking or leave it there until Monday morning. So, they had it there for 5 hours without doing a thing.
Reluctantly I agreed to leave it there until Monday, Then I received a call on the Friday evening to say that they diagnosed the fault as a faulty downstream sensor. And the cost will be £745.00 inc vat, they told me the sensor was £245 plus vat. I questioned the loose battery clamp and the chap said nothing had been picked up on that despite me logging it in their comments. During this call the chap clearly told me they would look at reducing the price. Which they never did until I raised it, and when they did reduce it, it was by a measly £25.
At this point I know I was been lied too, That sensor was never faulty, ( but at that stage I can not prove otherwise) and they wanted to charge £400 plus for labour to replace sensor that is easily replaced by removing the bottom engine cover and replacing the sensor by simply pugging and unplugging.
Anyway on Monday at 8.30 am morning I called to check on the progress of the car, they told me it has been repaired, Once I again I questioned work on the battery clamp. And the lady told “everything that needed to be done was done” and she could not tell me specifically if it had been done. So I went to pick up the car, Once again, I questioned if the battery clamp had been done, and I got the same answer “everything that needed to be done was done”. I pursued the question further and they told me it had not been done- This is despite me requesting this 3 times. I was told I would need to rebook again and more diagnostic etc charges would apply.
I want to say Mercedes and in particular to the service manager at Solihull, you should be ashamed of your staff, they showed a genuine lack of empathy. Also they never answer the phone on the extension(if your car is on site), And this is not the first time I have been lied to by Mercedes staff(last time they told me I needed a gear box service at 60k miles, when another actual Mercedes staff member told me I did not. Plus they do not accept American Express.
Kind Regards
