Out dated British pounds!
I ordered British pounds - which are all make of plastic now. Travelex sent me a twenty pound note made of paper, which is out dated! I want to send the money to my brother-in-law as a birthday gift, but he will have to go to the trouble of exchanging it for plastic money at a British bank when he receives it. A little frustrating! Please send up to date currency in future! They no longer use paper money in Great Britain!!!

Not a great exchange rate.
The delivery was timely and excellent. The problem was when I checked the exchange rate between the dollar and the Euro. I had to pay $50 to get 250 euros. That’s not a great exchange rate.

The rate you have received is correct, the online and in store rate is always different as stated in our Terms and Conditions, because of this we do always recommend ordering online to get the best rates.
We do try to offer our customers the convenience of securing their transaction at a rate competitive in the market and like all travel money providers, we buy and sell currencies. There are many degrees of rate setting by different businesses and the rate will depend on the type of transaction and amount being exchanged.
The sell rate reflects the cost of sourcing the currency and bringing it into our stores. The buy rate reflects the price of accepting currency from our customers and then moving or clearing this currency. Further to those costs we also have to consider our operating costs and cover the risk of exchange rate movement. All of these costs will be reflected in our pricing.

I love the idea of being able to travel with local currency.
I love the idea of being able to travel and carry local currency purchased in advance, avoiding on site exchange fees and other issues with credit cards, etc.; the Travelx allows you to do just that.
The only issue I have is with the navigability of the website and reloading a card .. it’s clumsy and not intuitive. Part of that is understandable security, but part of it is website design.

I’ve used this site twice now and have been pleased. The arrival date you pick option is great since it’s definitely a package you don’t want to miss. The staff are pleasant when you call. One thing to note: there are no tracking numbers for security reasons. Just call the day your package is set to arrive and they will let you know the time it will be there.

ATM Empty, debited my card, no. Cash despensed.
CDG airport Travelex ATM Empty, debited my card. Went to travelex desk with two police. Lady gave me a number to call, and told me it would be refunded in 24 hours.
Well the number I rang 14 times wasn't correct, and I later found out a claim had to be made through my bank. Well I got a letter saying 30 days for refund. I now find out B Shetty the owner is been fiddling the books and they're under administration. Still waiting more than three months later, getting worried that the tangle of lies is going to see me out of pocket.

If no cash is dispensed from our ATM, you will need to contact your card issuer for further advice and ask them to raise a dispute directly with us. The card issuer should refund you any debited amount and then settle this with us, the ATM operator, internally.
These issues and any known faults with our machines are reported immediately to prevent any inconvenience for our customers. As a leading ATM provider if something does go wrong we are accredited to the various schemes that operate within the ATM industry and as such have procedures in place to ensure resolution.
