Square Enix EU - undoubtedly the WORST customer service on the planet!

Speaking specifically about an order with the EU store. Ostensibly Square Enix delegate Scalefast SAS to operate this website. Their service is the shoddiest I have ever seen.

My preorder was repeatedly delayed, again and again, for almost a year -- yet the product is in stock with third party retailer shops. My requests for clarificaton went unanswered, but my cancellation requests were immediately rejected. No phone line, live chat or social media channels to contact either.
I will never do business with this trash heap of a merchant again.

The worst of the worse

The worst of the worse. I genuinely cannot understand how a company of this size can have such a terrible customer support. There website is useless and aged. There response times are non existent. If they updated there log in screen my problem would not even exist. Utterly useless a terrible service.

EU support just does not reply to suspended account issues.

My account has been hacked and ‘currently’ suspended afterwards. (Changed pw and set an Authenticator directly afterwards. I learned my lesson!!)
I contacted their support with all details needed. No response from EU at all while NA customer support came back to me in like 48 hours. (I accidentally had emailed na first instead of the EU first. And since my account is EU based only the EU can assist me accordingly to the NA support).
Its been over 1 1/2 week now and still no response from EU for getting my account access restored.

I read online that some have been waiting over a month now and still no reply or having received access to their account again from the EU support.

Their EU customer service is terrible and would deserve a single star. I give the NA 3 stars. So average let’s give it 2 stars.
I understand working from home is a thing now due to covid + less staff due to it being summer.

But I’ve never seen it as bad anywhere else in the gaming industry customer service support this year!

About the game/se: I’m loving FFXIV but oh damn is the customer support experience been a nightmare so far! It really does leave me with a sour taste when I think back on my fun times online with friends and has me anxious if I ever need to contact the support in the future for other matters....

Confusing and Time Consuming Experience

Modifying my review. I was mistaken on the issue I had, Square Enix chat support did end up assisting me and as of now, it is resolved.

I am changing my review from a 1 star to a 3 star because of the following:
-No support number (my issue could have been cleared up in minutes if this was an option)
-Chat support is really wonky. You are placed in a queue and your placement changes, sometimes higher than before
-Purchasing the FFXIV Complete edition was a challenge, it took me over an hour to figure it out and I am pretty tech savvy.
-The Square Enix websites (Mog Station, etc.) are really outdated and I don't fully trust it enough to setup a recurring subscription, so I have opted for adding game time codes instead.

Recommendation: Update your websites, Blizzard is a great example of how to make purchasing and managing a subscription-based account easy (former WoW subber here). Have a more accessible customer service model. Game is wonderful, so make it simple for people to buy and play it.

Online store support is GARBAGE

Their customer support for their online store is absolute garbage. Had a ticket back in April that's never been resolved and I had a package ship on the 17th of July that has not arrived yet and no one from support will answer me. I'd give them negative stars if I could.

6 WEEK TICKET RESPONSE TIME

Literally took 3 weeks to respond to a ticket asking for more information to resolve my issue when they have created a online webform you input all the data they need to swap the account to the right account.
After emailing and screenshotting ALL the information again in a shady looking email response and even screenshotting the cd key and proof of purchase. 3 weeks later again they said they can not help me with an issue so so so simple for them to complete... You even have 3 different accounts for 1 game. Square enix account. ffxiv account and another account for item redemption which again is separate!!! some how when i entered my CD KEY for ffxiv into the webform it logged me into a 10 year old dormant account which i have no idea how it did meaning i needed it swapped to my new account i made. 5 weeks later they cant help me.. BOYCOT THIS GAME AND COMPANY - how is disgusting customer service being allowed and nobody talking about it? All they got to do is deactivate the account i put the code onto and add it to the right account. THEY ARE LITERALLY MAKING ME PAY FOR THE GAME TWICE when they have set you up to fail with the multiple sites you have to log in and link its stupid.

Thought over games had con tactics to get you to spend money but this is the worst customer support ive ever experienced in my life. So so so so glad i did not give them a penny and now safely know never to invest time into this company. AVOID DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

Paid money. AFK for 6 weeks to get told cant help me out even though their web form literally shows you how to swap game activation on another account. SCAMMERS - Muilti billion dollar company who cant respond to its customers cause of covid? why can my 2 man business keep running no problem from home over the phone or email? joke company

So I got myself into a problem of…

So I got myself into a problem of buying ffxiv on their US website unaware that it doesn't work in EU so obviously the keys did not register. So took a stab at sending them an email for a refund and without any fuss got all my money back and I bought another copy in my region. Just wanted to say how thankful I am to the customer support team.

i am trying to set up a new account for…

i am trying to set up a new account for final fantasy online, i come from WoW.
Due to technical problems on Square Enix Sites i guess, i am not able to login into my account or the game.

Like WT F. I can put up a new password everytime, but it gets never accepted afterwards. It always show password is wrong.

I searched the whole internet and tryed everything. Its not possible.

PLEASE get some devs and redesign your infrastructe, it is very complex for new users and full of bugs bois.

I had an account since 2014 iirc and…

I had an account since 2014 iirc and have been on and off playing FF14. Stopped at the end of Shadowbringers.
Now that I want to play again, I've tried to login on PS5. "Wrong ID or password". Ok cool, I'll get them to reset it. I get the confirmation code to reset and done... I try to login again with the correct ID and freshly changed password - "Wrong ID or password"...
Kinda really f***ing frustrating Square Enix.
I mean, I get that it's free trial season but I've already bought your game and I'm WILLING TO PAY FOR A SUBSCRIPTION so do you NOT want my money?
I'm just trying to play your game!!!
Why won't you let me??? 😡
Please reconsider your login process because I know I'm not alone in this overly complicated ordeal.

I needed to get access to my account…

I needed to get access to my account after like three years away. Couldnt remember the security question answer let alone the password.

I waited for 2 and a half hours on hold. No one answered the phone. Not even a "hey we are busy just, let us give you a call back" like many other customer service use anymore.

Terrible online ordering experience

Tried to buy the full version of FFXIV to upgrade my free trial, and there was no way to redeem the code I paid £45 for. So it seems you cannot upgrade, only start again with a new account. Didn't want to spend all the time repeating the same content again and so uninstalled and lost the £45 as it's non-refundable. There is no support at all from that company. Will NEVER buy another Square Enix product.

Bestellung von Merchandise gescheitert

Ich habe vergangenes Jahr zwei Figuren in dem Shop bestellt und das Lieferdatum war auf den Dezember 2020 datiert da eine der Beiden Figuren erst dort released wird. Das Geld wurde mir natürlich direkt abgezogen. Im Dezember hieß es dann, Lieferung im März. Auf Grund von Corona war das für mich akzeptabel. Ende April immer noch keine Versandbestätigung. Ich schreibe eine Mail an den Support und dieser versichert mir, dass meine Bestellung spätes Anfang Mai verschickt wird. Nun Ende Juni immer noch nichts. Ich schreibe erneut und bekomme eine Entschuldigungsmail. Meine Bestellung sei nicht richtig im System und die Bestellung wurde storniert. Ich soll doch erneut bestellen. Achja, die andere Figur die ich bestellt hatte, welche zum Zeitpunkt der Bestellung lieferbar war aber nicht separat geliefert werden konnte (was für mich auch ok war) ist nun nicht mehr auf Vorrat und wird vermutlich nie wieder produziert.
Eine Unverschämtheit und sehr unprofessionell. Ich bin maximal enttäuscht und werde dort nichts mehr bestellen!

Thief's and 0 respect at all!

First of they take my money even after they sent me an email saying that they don't have the item in stock, i called that stealing after a month they send me another one saying that the finally send it out. I received it and the collector box was damaged inside the factory wrap! And they says that they couldn't replaced it at all cuz they didn't keep any replacement part for it. So I've waited 2 month to get my collector edition a 300 bucks and now its damage and they not gonna do anything that was the second time it happens same damage with ff15 at 600 bucks! Worst company ever I'll never buy something from them again since the customer is crap for them!
