I am 4 months into trying to migrate a domain away from the ironically named Speednames. I consider this to be a battle of wills rather than a service request now. I keep filling i the same form, I send it off and hear nothing. I chase the request and I am asked to fill in this form..and so it goes on.

I wish my epitaph on my tombstone to be "I managed to get Speednames to do what I asked" , a dream maybe but we can all dream.

Only use Speednames if you find Catch 22 style bureaucracy amusing and fun. Staggeringly bad service.

Probably the poorest customer experience that I have been forced to endure in over 40 years of working in IT and networks.

Knowing that I would need to renew my domain payment in mid May 2018 I started the process to transfer my domain to another hosting company in Mar 18.

I have now come to the point of renewal and still Speednames have failed to update my registry email address information so that I can initiate transfer. Despite their having signed documentation since early April to pass on to their registrar the email address remains one that I no longer use. They fail to appreciate that as a customer my relationship is with them not their registrar who they continually blame for not actioning the request. I am now resigned to losing my domain name, after multiple calls and emails, as I refuse to pay them for a service that I don't receive. What beggars belief is that Speednames and Ascio, the registrar, are part of the same group of companies owned by CSC.

Do not do business with these companies.

Dreadful company now. I bought a domain when this company was called NetNames - they were great. The trouble started when it changed to Speednames. It has a parent company in Denmark (ASCIO). They do not seem to have a real presence in the UK. Support calls are routed elsewhere, where staff do not even understand who Speednames are. Emails to the Speednames support address are unanswered.
BUT there is good news. If you go to the Nominet site (you got an email from them when you registered your Speednames domain), you can login and start an online chat. Tell them your problems with Speednames and for £10 they will allow you to re-register your domain with another registrar of your choice. I just did this. It took 10 minutes. Talk to your new registrar before speaking to Nominet. Nominet will need your new registrars TAG name to make the change. The best £10 I EVER spent!

A simple change never went through, and from then on, it was downhill. No replies to emails. I talked to them a few times, tried in various timezones to get different people, but nobody was able to help. At all. I must have pi......d them off because after a while they made the "I cannot hear you" trick, when I called them. My sites and email (which is most important for me), was down for the better part of a week. I eventually managed to get away and to another registrar.

BTW, somebody mentioned that ASCIO was just as bad - that was NOT my experience. Had it not been for ASCIO, I would have been left in the dark even longer.

This is ludicrous - they are 'rolling out' an 'exciting new service' for their customers e-mail solutions, without explaining what it is. Which has promptly crashed my e-mail service and I can no longer receive or send e-mail from Outlook. Called Technical Support number, held on for over an HOUR(!), then told that they could only assist with accounts that have already been updated, 'legacy' accounts such as mine (which they have not got around to updating) have to contact (via e-mail) the billing department! No phone numbers, no surnames given, no support despite paying them for a service. This is now being escalated to our legal team as they are blatantly breaking their agreement and contract with us.

So many frustrations dealing with Speednames.asia.

Email take days to reply and did not bother to follow up. Messed up system, kept asking for the same document to be produced in the same Email loop. Worst, the only authentication method is to spell out the First 4 Characters of my 8 characters password, or Email in plain text. Never had any problem dealing with IP Mirrors before at all.

Definitely, moving all my 19 domain names off Speednames.

Har mistet tålmodigheden - Jeg har nu flyttet 6 domainer! Det er frustrerende hvor ringe denne virksomhed er blevet! Ingen fornufttig dialog med support! Lover - Lover og lover men intet sker! Det har kostet mig en formue fordi jeg jo mister mine forudbetalinger for service. Jeg har flyttet ALT til Surftown.dk - Jeg har brugt Surftown 10 år sideløbende!

This is my first review ever, i have never created reviews on trustpilot on any company, website,etc. but i must warn others about this company. I dont even know where to start... but other reviews are spot on.

Overrated fees, service this company do not know about, Changes not made as promised....

I then decided to move 27 domains away from netnames (speednames sameshit different name), and all domains are not moved yet. This is more than 4 month ago.

support at servicedesk and service managers keep asking about the same information over and over again.... frustrating

Absolutely junk. Was IP Mirror, then got acquired by Speednames (speednames.asia). Initially I can't even login. Then later I could, and as many others said there's issues with EPP codes and payments. Your card gets charged, no transaction info. Support is close to non-existent. I had to call SGNIC whom helped escalate the case before they would respond to anything at all.

We've used this company for a few years now and I find their site very hard to navigate to manage our products, and their customer service is consistently difficult to reach. When I finally got around to trying to transfer our remaining domain name away from them, I received no response to emails to customer service and spent consecutively 10, 20, and then 30 mins on hold trying to get through to their customer service phone number before giving up in exasperation. Absolutely ridiculous.

Service renewed, payment taken by Speednames. 7 days later after making numerous phone calls across Europe. Tried emailing them but no response. Dreadful, unacceptable service. Please if anyone has any suggestions??

Simply awful - screwed our domain dns when doing thier ‘exciting’ upgrade followed by poor support which meant we were down for days. Now can’t get epp codes as others have stated here - surely they should be stripped of thier right to host! WARNING DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE!

During the migration process from IPMIRROR to SPEEDNAMES, i did 2 domain transfer for my clients. But now SPEEDNAMES is saying it is not with them. and i have been pushed around between them, ASCIO, and a third party i got the domain from at least 10 times, each of their email is to ask you to contact someone else.Now, i am asking my domain extension refund, even sent them proof of receipt 3 times, they are asking me to look for the third party whom i only got the auth code from. This is insanely unacceptable and rude, and frustrating.

Come on speednames & ASCIO, just by pushing the responsibility to each other you are expecting to get away? i have to repeat myself, unless you want the worst experience of your life stay away from speednames and ascio as well.

Service was great a few years ago but went downhill. Since the transfer to speednames.eu we cannot manage our domain anymore. The portal throws error on attempt to change DNS records, EPP codes cannot be issued and domain info is partially unavailable.

The e-mail support addresses mainly provide auto-responders. Some support person provided at least two responses confirming the technical problems but didn't fix anything, yet.

The phone number provided for speednames.eu just has the Danish branch's people behind it. They claim to cannot help either. Same for German support. Friendly but no action.

An e-mail to Ascio asking for EPP codes has remained unanswered as well.

Terrible situation! The whole group should have their registrar rights revoked and customers reimbursed.

Update (March 2, 2018): after filing a complaint with ICANN they were quick to provide an auth code for a transfer of the domain.

I don't even want to give 'em 1 star, but TrustPilot insisted...

Speednames.dk used to work like a bliss. But since Netnames acquired them and forced their solution upon them things have gone down hill FAST.

I cannot change my domain contact information online. I cannot obtain my domain EPP codes online. The system doesn't function, it is slow, and it hangs every 5 requests. Calling support to have them change my domain contacts and provide me with EPP codes to change registrar has proven equally useless. Emails are hardly ever answered, except for the friendly but useless receipt email. Upon calling support they often tell me that they don't receive my emails. But I have their receipt. They also tell me that Netnames, who recently acquired Spednames, is in a legal battle with Ascio over the acquisition and that I and 16,000 other clients are held up getting requested support because of said legal battle.

Speednames lost my credit card information on some of my domain names in the transfer and are now daily requesting me to reenter for renewals, although I have signaled that I am on my way out. As for those credit card numbers that they did manage to keep, they are now pulling funds, but their online system won't let me see the invoices for which funds are pulled. I have emailed the billing department, but no response. I have asked support to transfer me to billing, but they won't. Billing has no separately listed phone number. I have called Speednames main phone number, but no answer. I have contacted Netnames global with a request to contact me, but no reply.

I am disappointed and frustrated and angry.

I wont call them by names... HELL, they wont listen anyways. But I will suggest that you stay away from Speednames and Netnames if you care for your domain names and domain services.

Der må være mange der flygter nu med den service de har, og så forlanger de ekstra for ydelser man har haft tidligere, uden at oplyse derom. Nænej, det koster skam nu efter vi er blevet amerikansk ejet!!!
Ingen information til kunder om at der blevet solgt, og kundeservice har de nok ikke fået købt med, for der er ingen ordentlig.
Har ikke kunnet styre mailforwading og andet siden sidste år.
Er der nogen her der kan foreslå en der er lige så god som Speednames var tidligere, for så skifter jeg nu.

Yes, I have had the exact same experience as several others have described after our domain names were transferred from speednames.com to speednames.eu.
- undocumented charges to my credit card
- a completely useless portal with regards to managing the domains
- no response from support except for a canned message
- and I cannot even obtain EPP codes so that I can transfer domains to another service

This really looks like a scam and I am tempted to initiate a fraud investigation.

Terrible company. Their portal does not work, even updating domain name contacts doesn't actually do anything nor does altering DNS records. Support is shocking and don't seem to do anything they say they will and even their knowledge base doesn't always work.

Avoid!
