I think we are on our fifth vehicle purchase with Spencer now, the fact that we travel 2 hours to do so says it all. The attention and detail that Spencer has been to for us has been second to none from all other dealerships we have experienced. Ten out of ten for all things. Communication, personal touch, welcoming and friendly experience from the whole team. It is an enjoyable experience all round and we have shared our experience with many friends and recommended them to you. We will return soon.

⭐ Very disappointing experience – £850 spent on diagnostics and repairs, with problems returning within two days

I had a very disappointing experience with Sinclair regarding ongoing electrical problems with my VW T-Roc.

I paid approximately £850 for diagnostics and work, including the removal and coding of the towbar module and additional battery cabling, in the hope that the underlying electrical problems would finally be identified and resolved.

Unfortunately, within just TWO DAYS, the warning messages returned: “12V battery not charging” and “Start/Stop system error”.

What makes this experience even more frustrating is that Sinclair subsequently recommended replacing the alternator and battery at an additional cost of approximately £2,200.

This was particularly concerning because the alternator had already been replaced twice by another garage, and I had also replaced the battery. I had already spent a considerable amount of money trying to resolve these electrical issues, and I went to Sinclair expecting a proper diagnostic investigation and a reliable solution, not further expensive recommendations after the initial work failed to resolve the problem.

After spending approximately £850 on diagnostics and repairs, having the same warning messages return within two days was extremely disappointing. Being advised to spend another £2,200 on an alternator and battery only added to my concerns about the diagnosis and the overall cost of resolving the problem.

I subsequently contacted Sinclair to raise my concerns and request a refund, but I have received no response to my complaint.

When a customer spends this amount of money, they reasonably expect competent workmanship, a thorough diagnostic process and, above all, a garage that is willing to communicate and address concerns when the work does not deliver the expected result.

Instead, I have been left frustrated, out of pocket and still dealing with unresolved electrical problems, while being expected to consider spending thousands of pounds more.

Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Sinclair. The outcome of the work, the additional cost of the proposed repairs and the lack of response to my complaint have left me extremely dissatisfied.

I hope Sinclair will finally respond to my complaint and take responsibility for addressing my concerns.

I had never bought a car from a dealership before and I am glad to say, from start to finish I found the experience at Mercedes-Benz in Cardiff excellent. All the staff were professional and friendly. However, the salesman I dealt with was Robert Edmunds. He kept in touch while finding the car I wanted without being over powering and showed a good knowledge of the vehicles. He was also very helpful in guiding me through the purchasing process. Making the whole procedure simple and straight forward. I would also like to thank the service engineers as they gave the car a thorough check before I was able to collect the vehicle.
