Should be no stars!! absolutely appalling "service" by Registry staff! simple request of copy of birth certificate, clearly staff inept at their work, do not adhere to their stipulated timescales! Inability to even to speak to any member of staff, no one takes phone calls!!!! they should be held to account and management take responsibility for their diabolical work ethic and customer service! Moral of the story is when paying for a copy do NOT expect it to be delivered within their stipulated time frame! Yet another SCC "service" which works to the beat of their own drum!!!

Provided a temporary accomodation in a racist area. Worst of all the property was an ex BROTHEL!!!! I was FUMING as I have twins aged 3 and my husband who is not well!!!! We had groups of MEN asking if we wanted business 2am/3am at night and disturbed my twins! They shouted women's names and the letters posted were the names they were shouting. It's disgusting to know they would do that to a family. We reported to police. And when I told temp accommodation about the incident they THEN said it's not safe for you guys to live there!!!! So they took us out to put us in a drug abuse and unhygienic apartment which they then claim it's a "family" apartment lots of families living there. All I saw were drug users, beggars, urine smell and drug smell coming from there. And even after complaining to them about that they refused to help us move out!!! So disappointed in Sheffield Council, Sheffield Housing, Sheffield temporary accomodation teams!

Iv been waiting now nearly 6 days for my heating to be fixed and this happens every winter. The engineer will come out get it working then it last a few days then goes down again until winter finishes then it's not used as much so is never missed. You can't ring them or your always 36 person in the cue. Is it the fact that most sheffield people hate work. appalling that's what it is.

Been waiting for someone to come to see my boiler as I already on Thursday the 30th and I am still waiting today on the 2nd of December 22 this is supposed to be a 24-hour call-out I am cold I have no hot water and no heating personally I would not give him a star at all

What an appalling service. Called on behalf of my sister who had lost heating in her home, after she had attempted to contact them for someone to come out 3 times! Each time they told her to call her energy provider, we googled the fault code on the boiler and it said it was an issue with the ingnition/flute that requires an engineer. She has a toddler with heart condition and having explained this to the woman representing SCC who was extremely condescending questioned me 'having no heating affects him'? Yes indeed it does! She said it's not their policy to send someone out and to call after 8am tomorrow morning. This obviously got me riled up to which she then had the audacity to say I was being aggressive. Apparently a child with a heart condition is not classed as an emergency and because I repeated to her that it was she terminated the call. I attempted to call a further 3 times and she put the phone down each time. We have gotten no where, SCC really need to review the heartless beings that lack basic empathy to represent them in such emergency situations especially in freezing weather conditions. When I said I would escalate this , she cleverly said feel free. Wow, just wow. She wouldn't provide her name but I'm sure calls are recorded so I will be complaining in morning.

too many chiefs not enough indians. been waiting over 3 years now for my much needed repairs doing ( despite having a legal disrepair claim against them) and no covid is not the reason for fobbing me off since sept 2019 ( pre covid) i have lived with damp and mold on walls etc plus leaking gutters... the joint chartered surveyor eventually visited and identified repairs that SCC should have already repaired previously he found them to be in breach of their own tenancy agreement and set out what is called a scott scedule addressing each repair with SCC and the remedial work needed obviously these actions and the 3 year delay is leaving me overly frustrated and now been told by SCC IAN GREEN they are not sure when or if they will finsih the repairs as per the agreed out of court settlement because I am becoming abusive to your tradesmen??? what the **** after 3 years what do u expect? come in and have a cup of tea??? u want to do repairs when it is convenient for yourselves! with no consideration for your tenant and i speak for us all when i say u are the reason the council has no money they pay you to keep cases like mine out of court yet you are just a financial burden for the housing team

Extremely bad.
I am attempting to sort out a council tax. Sent them proof that I wasn't in the address therefore not responsible for the times they are stating. Have recieved no further correspondence. Can't get through to anyone and bow they have sent bailiffs. All for an error on their part

It's one of the worst councils in the UK!! Absolutely terrible service. They keep chasing me for payment even though i pay every month and they keep adding on extra charges on top for some reason! They wont answer the phone after waiting on line for hours only to be hanged up. I really want to move away from sheffield just so i can get away from these worst council people who doesnt know how to do their job!

This is my third attempt to contact the Council Tax Department 1st wait 45 mins, 2nd wait 38 mins and now holding still a the cost of a reminder letter to me if this situation continues, and my attempt to contact will result in another cycle of waits, frustrations and lack of resolution. For God's sake, get a grip and employ more staff You'll certainly need them as citizens find themselves unable to pay in the current and future desperate financial climate.

Horrendous. Fined £80 for accidentally dropping a tiny piece of paper outside the station, amongst a sea of rubbish that hadn't been cleared up. I hadn't realised I'd dropped it and offered to pick it up. Horrible, aggressive officer fined me which I paid immediately. I was then sent a letter summoning me to court because the council's system didn't acknowledge the payment. Horrendous, horrendous, service.

Sheffield City Council need to resolve the serious issues they have with their main contact number. I have been unable to get through yesterday and today it was over an hour. I was advised they are low on staff numbers and that several are in training. Eventually I managed to speak with someone regarding my query to satisfaction, though their abandonment rates must be sky high and those who have hung up are left with their queries and potential anxieties.

After 60 full minutes of waiting on the phone to speak to an advisor regarding some disability adjustments needed for housing I was hung up on. I use an app, and it let me know that I was hung up on and I have a screenshot of it.

Gave SCC one star only because there isnt a zero.
Phoned SCC at end of March as I had changed my bank details.Took 1 1/2 hours to speak to what appeared to be a competent person. He took all the relevant details and told me my direct debit was all set up to go with the next payment at a slightly later date. All is well... until I received a UNPAID DIRECT DEBIT NOTIFICATION stating the D/D had been recalled. I can only assume the guy I spoke to was too busy playing candy crush on his phone rather than paying attention to what I was saying. Phoned again, 11th in queue, got to 1st in queue after exactly 2 hours only to be cut off.
Today I received a text AND automated call from SCC threatening legal action. Phoned Council Tax Department at 2.13pm, extension 2, sorry all our operators are busy and the lines are now closed. Call back later. Tried again on extension 5, sorry all our operators blah blah blah. This council are treating people with more disrespect than Boris Johnson. It should change its name from SCC to SDC, the Sheffield deaf council.

I’ve spent over 2 and a half hours and still waiting to get through to someone at council tax. I have never known anything as shoddy and incompetent as Sheffield city council tax. Caller 29 at the beginning of the call. Have they got one person manning the phone??? What an an actual farce something really needs to be done about this.

I just spent 4 HOURS on hold to set up council tax just to be hung up on!! Is this some kind of joke?!

I’ve been on hold for two hours ringing Sheffield council tax ,it’s now five mins to 5 and will get cut off .
Received a letter had today to respond the 8th other wise some actions .

The black taxi hire is a disgrace. They are anonymous drivers which isn't safe for the customer. From personal and experience of others I know, some drivers offer drugs (at night), make a pass at female passengers who feel unsafe, some abusive and aggressive, I know 3 young men who had money and property stolen and they were thrown out of the taxi. The CCTV isn't clear at night, the driver and reg number are not visible so police can't take action. It's actually dangerous to use these at night and there should be protection in place for passengers. It isn't too much to ask to be taken home safely, is it?
