Opened a trade account, we are a small - predominately tiling company. Have a good relationship with our supplier. We’ve bought a few things from Selco while we flip houses in the process.

Every single time I have to chase delivery, offer a day then confirmation is days later and always after 5pm! there are missing items or items are open/half missing or broken.

This will be the last order we make, had their customer relations call to tell us about tiling offers - but we wouldn’t dare use them.

If you’re a large builders, I’m sure they bend over backwards for you. Smaller accounts like ours, they give you open/broken and rejects. It’s actually shameful.

The last order had a missing tonne bag, how you misplace that - I don’t know. But then took ages to deliver, holding up the job!

The next order money was taken and the order was supposed to be cancelled, we never got that money back!

The last couple of orders, we ordered a load of major bags and nearly all were open and half full.

The wood we ordered was broken and split. Decking was bowed and split.

We’ll be sticking with RGB for everything in future. We had hoped it was just one off’s - but this is the 3rd delivery and all the same.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Today we brought 8 surplus INS Boards, which had been purchased approximately two weeks ago, to your Croydon Road branch in Mitcham for a refund. Unfortunately, we experienced very unpleasant and unexpected treatment from a young female staff member.

She appeared to have the surname "Peer Singh" (or something similar), however she was not wearing a name badge and also refused to provide her name. From the beginning, she spoke in a rude and unprofessional manner and stated that: "You did not buy these items from here, so you need to return them to the branch where you purchased them." This statement was completely inconsistent with the known policy and customer service standards of Selco. Furthermore, she was not willing to listen to our explanation or make any effort to understand the situation.

What concerned me even more was that immediately after we entered, several members of staff — from cleaners to the security guard — gathered around us and each person started giving their own opinions and comments. I found this situation very strange, uncomfortable, and quite shocking.

I then asked the young lady if I could speak with the store manager, but she incorrectly informed me that there was no manager available. Afterwards, I approached a young male staff member and requested assistance. He kindly directed me to the store manager. I explained the entire situation clearly to the manager, and after reviewing the matter, he approved and instructed the refund to proceed.

The purpose of this complaint is not simply to express dissatisfaction, but to ensure that other customers do not experience similar treatment in the future. Customers should be treated with respect, professionalism, honesty, and courtesy, especially by staff representing a reputable company such as Selco.

I’m speechless and long story short .We wanted to order a kitchen ,design was made already,pictures and drawings provided just needed a quote for it.Today I have received an email from one of the Selco branch in Hemel Hempstead :
Regarding the kitchen if you have a way to move forward with Wickes, I would suggest doing so.They are understaffed and don’t have time for this unless I will give him one week or so.Thats what I did,went to Wickes and ordered kitchen there.

STAY CLEAR OF SELCO MILLBROOK!

Selco had been my go-to supplier for property renovations over the last 10 years. Unfortunately, after this experience, that has changed completely.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received from the Selco team — particularly the lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and failure to properly resolve an ongoing issue.

My team and I were carrying out a garden renovation for my recently widowed 60-year-old sister. The project was especially important to her, as the garden was being renovated in memory of her late husband. I purchased garden slabs from Selco, only to receive a mix of two completely different colours. I initially spoke with Emma at the Millbrook store, and later with one of the managers, Paul.

The slabs were collected and re-delivered three separate times, yet every delivery had the exact same issue.

By the end of it, my sister was exhausted by the constant back and forth, especially given the emotional stress and anxiety she has already been dealing with. On top of that, it was her money being lost through wasted labour costs, delays, and disruption to the project. We ultimately had no choice but to lay the incorrect slabs just to get the project finished.

I do want to say that the delivery drivers were excellent throughout — professional, courteous, and helpful at every stage.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the store team. I was repeatedly promised that a resolution would be provided, yet nobody contacted me for six weeks. When I eventually chased Paul myself, the proposed resolution was completely inadequate considering the money that had been lost on labour, wasted preparation work, materials, and the significant amount of time involved.

Even now, while writing this review, I still haven’t received any further communication from Paul or anyone else at Selco regarding a fair solution.

Because of the complete lack of empathy shown towards my sister’s situation, the lack of accountability for the mistake, and the poor communication throughout, I will no longer be using Selco Builders Warehouse.

I would strongly advise others to think carefully before using them.

I recently placed a substantial order with Selco at Stirchley branch. I dealt with the store Manager Mike, who went above and beyond to help with my order and pricing through to organising the delivery dates on several deliveries. Overall an outstanding piece of customer service. Thanks Mike it is much appreciated.

Just had another delivery from Selco , great service ordered online delivered when promised , best packing of of materials I have seen crane of load

Their delivery driver parked across a private driveway to make a crane assisted delivery to a different property, when the driver was asked to park elsewhere he said it was a public road and that he'd park where he wanted. When advised that he can't obstruct a driveway he said "you can complain to my office but they won't care".

Update: The office got back to me in good time and assured me that it will be looked into and dealt with.

Used Selco quite a lot along with others. I'm in there about once a week. Good range of things, though some items you might expect just aren't stocked.

Ordered online delivery date I clicks then the delivery date changed then they call me two days before delivery to say they can’t deliver until another four days time would definitely not recommend delivery service from Selco

A huge thank you to Lee from Guildford branch of Selco for helping me source a water pump quickly and efficiently . This is for a job I have to do within a fiixed short period of time. Lee was Super helpful with a really friendly approach. He explained everything to me brilliantly about how to use the pump on site and even thought about contingencies should anything go wrong when I use the pump for the first time. What a valuable employee you have in Lee Guildford Selco!

It's reassuring to see your recent attention to friendly customer service was just a fluke, and not a permanent change, when I asked your staff member today, was their anyone available to serve after he was being monopolised by a retail customer, he could not have been ruder, no attempt to call anyone else, it was left to someone else in the queue to go and get another sour-faced selco employee to serve.
The worst thing about today was the 2chaps in the building section were so helpful and friendly, but they obviously haven't got the 'resume normal service' memo

Placed a click and collect order at 12:00 and it was ready to be collected at 13:05. Arrived and it was loaded onto a trolley ready to go. it took longer to load into the van than to complete the paperwork and collect the order

Absolutely shocking… ordered for delivery to not show up - no call- no reason just..

Waited in all day for it total waste of time - used to be amazing but sadly not anymore.

I’ve always used Selco deliverance was good until recently the last three I’ve had even got postponed by days or did not turn up on time. I had to rent equipment and lost money on that that I didn’t even use sometimes a day or two days late.

Book online and tells you it will be next day delivery only to find out after paying its 5 days later
They talk the talk but certainly don't walk it

Selco do some great deals On lots of materials, I like the fact they will beat any price match by 10% sometimes 15%The staff at Warrington are helpful and polite always greet you with a smile. Also deliveries are brilliant keep you updated with times.I recommend to friends & colleagues. Customer service is also very good I had a problem with damaged material. Contacted them and they solved to the best outcome you could not fault them for their resolution's I strongly recommend this company!!
