I have been shopping at Samuel Windsor for over 6 years and have bought shoes, suits, jackets, shorts, shirts, and accessories.

The only issue I have had with them has been the delivery which I put down to the choice of courier DX Delivery, my last order that arrived via Hermes yesterday was put in 5 weeks before and I was constantly updated that my delivery would be late because of volumes due to the closing down sale.

I am saddened that Samuel Windsor is closing down, they are not scammers and their products are exquisite standard.

Some of the recent reviews are a bit way off.
I've ordered 4 mid to big orders from them since the start of July - taking advantage of the closing down sale (sad though it is to see a good company close). The first two orders came in 18 days or so, the third in 35 days (exactly 5 weeks). Ok, so I agree the delivery time is VERY slow, but it's not as if the world is an easy place right now is it? A company closes down, there's Covid affecting staff numbers, delivery lorries post Brexit etc...
So, as far as I can see, you are NOT being scammed. SW is owned by a bigger company...do you think they want all that bad publicity? They couldn't avoid the refunds anyway since they carry on as a bigger company.
I agree the phone lines and service could be better, but the clothes and shoes are A1 for value in the closing down sale. I doubt you will find better anywhere else. Blimey folks...have a little patience and gratitude (for the gift horse of these cheap prices) and a tiny bit less entitlement (though there is a fair point there re service).

Non delivery of two orders..impossible to contact directly. I have now referred the issue to PayPal to try to get a resolution for me.
The company is apparently closing down and judging from other reviews they seem to be taking in a lot of revenue whilst providing zero customer support and in some cases zero products!

This company yesterday issued an instruction to refund me via PayPal…this will take another 5 days and further time to redirect that money back where it came from! The Items refunded were ordered 3 weeks ago (plenty of time given their telephone assurances) for a special occasion today resulting in a rushed journey to a high street supplier to buy similar things.
No communication whatsoever from the company who are blatantly taking orders for items they don’t appear to be able to supply, certainly not within their own given timescale. Don’t be fooled by their cheap prices or promises as it appears most likely you either won’t get anything at all or you won’t get anything for a considerable time. Absolutely awful. Good riddance!

Avoid this company 'AT ALL COST' it's customer service is Rubbish, I placed an order it took 21 working days to arrive not the 7 working days as promised only to find the order was not correct, I spent over £7.00 trying to call the company they do not answer the phone, I emailed them and guest what they did not answer them. the goods were not of good quality I have had better buys from the local charity shops.
So beware AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Endless wait....over a month now for one pair of shoes.

Ordered 2 pairs of slippers and received an email from them a week later advising my order could take up to 21 days due to being extremely busy during closing down sale. 21 days later received similar email advising to allow a further 11 days for my delivery! Day 31 now and still no sign of my goods. This is either a scam or they plain stupid as they are still sending me promotional sale emails and catalogues through the post. Never again, should have read reviews on Trustpilot first. Save yourself a load of stress and stay well away from Samuel Windsor.

I understand they are closing down but still been treated like a monkey by customer service. Placed an order on 7/7/2021(more than 300 pounds). Still nothing . After a month it turns out a third of the items are unavailable , still waiting for refund . Been trying to get a hold of them and keep getting get the same response . Called today been told to wait more now.

I ordered a month ago on the understanding that delivery could take up to fourteen days .Nothing after fourteen days so I looked at the website and delivery time now said allow eighteen days . I emailed (phone call is a premium rate ) and was assured they had a few staffing problems but I would receive my order last week .Today is four weeks since I placed my order (28 days ) and nothing . My payment has been taken so I’m not happy at all !

Goods ordered Sunday, 8th August for £35.95. My card issuer still has the transaction in “Pending.” I’m not sure if this is a good thing (Samuel Windsor not finalising the transaction because the order hasn’t been dispatched) or whether my card issuer is aware of the problems highlighted by the reviews on this and other sites.

On July 2nd ordered 6 shirts and 3 pairs of trousers (£55.93). I wrote on July 10th asking when I would get my order to which they responded on July 16th advising that the order was delayed as they were extremely busy. On July 26th they advised that there was a processing problem and they weren't able to provide the trousers and consequently they would arrange to refund the difference (£30). On July 30 £25.95 was refunded a little less than was taken. On August 2nd Rachael emailed to confirm the difference would be refunded. Still waiting! Far too many service problems with this company to recommend.

two orders on separate dates..no delivery..have met with auto replies and telephone answering machines.
research shows company may be about to or is in liquidation....but they are still taking money!!!

Advice for Non-Delivery of Orders
If you placed your order paying with a credit card and that card account HAS been debited but the order has NOT been delivered, you are entitled to apply to your credit card issuer for a Chargeback if the transaction was more than £100, for orders under £100, it's a Section 75 refund. After investigation, your card issuer will CREDIT your account and DEBIT Samuel Windsor with the amount of the order value.
American Express have today credited my card for non-delivery of my order.
I guess if they're closing down, staff are leaving, further increasing their obvious problems.

Usually I buy my goods from Charles tyrwhitt or Hawes and Curtis, but both the shoe styles and shirts I liked were sold out.
I typed in Monk shoes, and Samual Windsor popped up.
I was pleasantly surprised on how low the prices were, only to find they were closing down.
I placed my order on 07.07.21 as stock was quickly going, and started to worry when nothing turned up or my email was not replied too.
I then started to read trustpilot reviews and Instagram comments and thought this is happening to me.
I sent another email, we a response within 7days, explaining that they are overwhelmed and to wait 21 days.
Today 06.08.21, month later I recieved my delivered.
And it was worth the wait, quality of the shirts are amazing and the shoes are so good that they can be re soled once they wear down.

Patience is all that is needed.

Just received my recent order of two pairs of shoes and they look fantastic!. Yes of course deliveries took longer than usual, this is in the main because they are sadly closing down after many years, can you imaging how their teams are having to cope with this and work to dispatch all remaining stock at bargain prices in their closing sale. They must be up against it. For me I am very sad to lose this family run company as they have always looked after me as a customer and provided me with high quality products at affordable prices. I have never had cause to complain about the companys customer service, other than initially finding that their shoe sizing was a little tight for me so went up a half size (which I was so glad they did) and problem solved. Thank you to Samuel Windsor and their team, you will be missed.

Placed order for goods on 15th July over £100. I have emailed to chase them up, they advised they have issues with warehouse. I have just telephoned them today and have been informed it should be with me the end of next week, which will be over 4 weeks since the order was placed. I am starting to feel slightly uneasy about whether I will receive the goods.

Sad to see the store closing. I have purchased from them for several years, and been delighted with the tailoring and quality. Far better than what I find locally in the USA. Most USA products, especially major brands, are hugely overpriced, particularly as all of their products are sourced from China, where quality and proper fit is always a problem. S-W was a pleasure. Had a few returns due to UK-US size differences. Current delays of several weeks in UK? We wait for 6 or more weeks for products from US suppliers. Wish a happy retirement to S-W owners!

So sad that this company will no longer be trading as we only found them earlier this year and have ordered shirts, chinos and slippers as presents and have always been pleased with the quality of goods and had excellent service.
So we had to wait longer than usual for our last purchased, but is that not to be expected when a business is closing and has so many extra orders.
Be patient people. They are doing their best.

Long delivery

I placed an order £100+ on the 3rd of July paid with my credit card. Money pending After 10 days my bank returned my money. After 2 weeks money was taking out again. Didn't call or email just crossed my toes and fingers and prayed that my items will turn up soon because I'm not new with SW always reliable in the past. Almost 4 weeks today since I placed my order arrived. 4 stars for waiting time without communication and 1 item short out of my order. Sad to see it closing down.

The products this company sell are excellent for the price.

However, the recent closing down sale seems to have resulted in delivery times lengthening substantially - I waited about 3 weeks for each of 2 orders made over the past month.

They also seem to have some problems with stock control, meaning that items are regularly not in stock when they go to pick them. Refunds have, however, come through quickly and an email query on a price I made was rectified the same day, so there is a lot to be positive about.

However, it is a bit irritating to pay the flat delivery fee of £5.95 for an order for multiple items and several of them get cancelled, meaning the items you actually get are effectively more expensive.

If they are in fact closing down, hopefully someone else takes over supplying the clothes they stock.

Now in my 23rd day of waiting. Despite expensive telephone calls to them, I'm becoming more apprehensive every day. On my last call I informed that I was considering cancelling and asked if recovering my money would be a hassle? No reply to my question.
I do believe Trading Standards should now become interested in this company. What a pity, have traded for many years with this company.
