I had service with Republic for years but it was under a previous residents name. He canceled the service. I paid to resume service on August 11 and was sent an email saying the container would be dropped of on August 18 for pickup on the 19th. It was not delivered. I called Republic on the 21st and was told they had no record of me restarting my service. I gave them the confirmation number for my payment and then they found it but said it had not be processed yet and they would get it done and I should have the container on the 25th and pickup on the 26th. Again there was no container delivered on the 25th so I called again. At that point I was told they did not service my area even though I had used there service for years and it had only been a week or so since my service was canceled. The representative then told me that they would have someone call me within 24 hours and get the problem resolved. They did not call me. I called them back on the 28th and was told that my payment had been refunded to me on the 25th and there was no active account. I checked my bank account and there was a refund for my initial payment but I had not been notified in any way about the refund. That representative then started a new account and said the container would be delivered on September 1st for pickup on the 2nd but then changed it to drop of on the 2nd. I told her that pickup in my area would be on the 2nd and that would mean I would go another week without service she said I could put two 30 gallon bags out and they would pick it up when they dropped off the container. Well the container was finally dropped of on the 2nd but the 2 bags I had put out for pickup were still sitting there. Literally within a foot of where they dropped the container. This is now Labor day weekend so they will pick it up on a Thursday instead of Wednesday. My first pickup will be September 10 when my initial payment was made on August 11.

Very poor service, missed and late pickups. I canceled my account in June and I still haven’t received my refund.

We had a trash service that got bought out. The new company kept adding fees, so we cancelled. We signed up with Republic, and at first everything was ok. Then we got our second bill, and they added a $65.00 surcharge, for an overstuffed dumpster. I called them rather upset, and they sent me a picture of "my" dumpster. The picture was NOT our dumpster, so I sent them a picture of our dumpster. I told them to add a fee, and their treatment of a new customer was not right. I finally got them to drop the extra fee. What a great way to treat a new customer.

Some of the worst service possible. left the same trash in my can two weeks in a row. Guess I have to stand out there and help these children pick it up and throw it away. I can handle it though, I have more than a 2nd grade education. Thats why they collect the trash.

When we had GFL, things were fine. Over the course of time, our Republic quarterly bill grew to $255! The service was still fine, but the cost inflation was huge, like >10% per year. Our new supplier charges far less than 1/3 of this amount. Cancelling my account was intentionally incredibly difficult - not possible via email or chat, only via phone, and then it's very hard to get to a live attendant, which is all intentional. I cancelled on Aug 5, with service concluding Aug 28. I asked to receive email confirmation and they just said that it will come eventually. It didn't, and it's not in my spam filter. Soon after I started getting harassment via phone and email to pay the next billing cycle that starts after Aug 28. I was able to get to "Jan C" in the chat who then confirmed the billing would be changed to show account closure and retrieval of barrels. I had to ask multiple times whether the account would show "PAID" before Jan admitted they would attempt to ding me for $140 just to pick up the barrels. I was an ordinary customer who just paid my bill for very many years, possibly will over a decade. You're seriously going to attempt a $140 parting blow? I'm currently researching how to best fight this ridiculously inflated closing charge. I'll deliver the barrels to this location if you want me to but you will not collect $140 at this time.

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM!!! They are absolutely horrible to work with, will drastically raise your rates without notice, but you can't cancel service due to a rate increase, even though it may be double the fee they originally set. They have you over a barrel with the contract. It's 35 months and automatically renews for another 36 unless you give them 60 day notice prior to the renewal date. Close your business? Still gonna pay for their services for at least another 60 days from their close of the month(end of month). Call them early in the month and you will pay for 60+ how ever many days are left in that month. Call to cancel and get the RUN AROUND!!!! You will be told multiple different things until they finally route you to your account person. I was told it was all canceled and taken care of. Continued to get bills. I kept calling weekly, each time to be told the account person would call me. They did not. After 5 weeks trying, I called and I stayed on hold 1 1/2 hours waiting to talk with that person to finally be told their phone wasn't working and they would call me back. At the close of business that day, they called from their cell phone and said their computer had been down for weeks. Really? but I have to talk to this specific person to cancel my account but her computer hasn't been functioning for weeks?? This is messed up. Then she says 60 days from that day? Nope. I don't think so. (Funny story, the person I talked to last before finally reaching her, told me to stop electronic payments to be safe) 😳

Republic Services is by far the worst excuse for a garbage company I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with . The very first week they broke the wheels off my garbage can . I called and told them I needed another one cause they destroyed the one I had . They brought me another one but didn’t pick up the one they ripped the wheels off of . Come to find out they have been charging me for 2 cans for years . How can you charge me for 2 cans when one can has no wheels ? Then after they hiked their prices last year due to using new trucks with cleaner fuel that they decided to make the customer pay for I cancelled my recycle service. They wanted to charge me for picking up the can with no wheels that they broke . Even better they charged me on their bill $39.31 for not putting my recycle can out to be picked up when they had already picked it up a month earlier !! Customer service told me there’s nothing I can do about my bill once it’s been generated . So I guess they can just put any bogus charge on your bill they want and you have to pay it . They are the most pathetic excuse for a trash removal company in the history of humans .

This place STINKS!

They billed me for a second dumpster that was never dropped off or picked up. When I try to get a hold of someone they have been passing the buck. Do not rent a dumpster from these people or you will regret it!

We have been trying to get new trash and recycling bins because our bins are very old and cannot be sanitized and deodorized anymore. We have contacted their customer service several times and been given empty promises to replace our bins. We pay exorbitant fees for untimely collections and horrible customer service. Unfortunately they are a monopoly.I would give them zero stars if I could.

On August 18th truck number 2013 driver Carlos came speeding down the middle of the road going at least between10or20 miles over the limit through a huge Rock into my windshield and apparently it's my fault I need to pay for it.

I just scheduled my open top roll-off to be emptied and returned with Silvia out of Texas. She is an excellent example of a professional. I enjoyed my experience with her.

Do not use this company they have missed my pick up dates over 20 times yes it's my fault for not changing but the same time they kept telling me that I should not expect any more missed pickups here we are again trash goes out on Tuesday night to be picked up Wednesday morning I have cameras to prove this call today a day before normal trash pickup and they still not picked up my trash from last week they have been lying to me the whole time this company is nothing but a lying company do not believe them

These people bought out the trash service that I've been with. For almost 10 years, used to be Howard disposal Canyon City, . So a couple months ago, this new company bought them out and they come to dump my trash well.They kept leaving the dumpster on the side of the road , and the city don't allow that so the next time they came, my old buddy, seen him dump leaving. it r on the side of the road and explained to them. They needed to put it back so I see the driver get on his walkie talking. And 5 minutes later, we have a phone call, they're p***** and told us for now on if we want our trash service dumped, they want us to push it out there next to the road and turn it at an angle, so the driver can back right up to it. And just dump it you know , without having to get down and exhume any physical activity for the money I paid them and then apparently leave it in the street for all of us, elderly disabled people to try and fight back out the road to keep from getting in trouble by the city. IN EIGHT YEARS , I HAVE NEVER BEEN DEMANDED TO PHYSICALLY PARTICIPATE IN THE DUMPING OF MY TRASH DUMPSTER WITH MY DISABLED OSTEOARTHRITIS , RIDDLED BACK.

If you can avoid using Republic Services, please do so.
I cancelled my recycling service since I was getting charged almost $200 a year, and then I was charged $70 for them to pick up my recycling container. A charge they did not tell me about at the time I cancelled. Really $70???

I had an extra bag of garbage outside my garbage contained and three times I called to ask if it could be picked up. Every time, a customer service representative said they would schedule a pickup, and three times no one showed up. I saw the garbage guy on garbage day, and he said there were no notes for him to pick up an extra bag, and since I pay for the garbage through the HOA, we cannot get extra garbage picked up. That was not relayed to me during my numerous calls.

Terrible decision to go with Republic Services. Sneaky rate increases, hidden charges and 3 times, yes, 3x more expensive than Ace Refuse in my area. Buyer beware. Take it from me and don’t give your money to Republic Services!

Republic services is horrible. They charge a $50 container fee to deliver. They charge a ton of fees, administrative fees, taxes when you don't live in the city. Fuel fees etc. They also charge a fee to pick up the container when you cancel your services. It took almost a month to pick up up up my trash when I signed up with them. They kept missing me. If you have a choice with trash pick up,go somewhere else please.

I would actually give it zero stars at this point. I've been dealing with no bulk pickups since May. Every time I call it's a don't work we will fix this and they do NOT. I've spoken to a manager on two occasions and they can't seem to get their workers to do their job. I'd say this is the worst service thus far. This is Republic services in The Colony Tx..

After yet another unexplained price increase (making it almost double what a local competitor charges), I cancelled my service. After a month, they still haven't come by to remove the canister. After weekly calls to customer service, in which they keep promising to pick it up that day or the next, it's still here. Today, after calling yet again, they said they would file a complaint about this--because after all my calls, no complaint had yet been filed. There's no way to communicate with the truck (that just drove by without removing the container), no way to reach a superior in customer service, just the same lie that someone is "on their way" to pick up the container. Completely unreliable. Do not choose this company!

I can not write a review long enough to list all the ways they've failed. I don't just mean failed. I mean with almost malicious intent. Right now, they've stopped picking up our trash, but they aren't scheduling removing the bins. These are big industrial bins. They block our parking lot.

I'm literally on the phone with customer service like, when are you picking up my trash? They're like "today." I'm like, but you told me that the last 13 days. They're like, "you do not need to worry."

Like, if they fail to pick up the trash, fine. No, Republic fails to pick up the trash, promises they're coming tomorrow, fails again, won't refund you because they say they picked up the trash, let's it fester for two weeks, surcharges you $130 for the trash can is too full (because they haven't picked up the trash), promises to get back to you and doesn't, refuses to escalate to a supervisor, tells you there is no e-mail address, tells you there is no supervisor, tells you the supervisor will call you but they don't; you write to complain about your rep being fully unresponsive for 6 weeks, you get an e-mail back saying your rep will get back to you within 48 hours; you say please let me speak to anyone but my rep, you get another email back saying your rep will get back to you within 48 hours; you ask your rep what next steps are to canceling the account, he doesn't answer; you send a certified letter to cancel services as per your contract that says it's the only way to cancel services, but when you call they say they no longer read letters. What company has a contract that says the only way you can cancel is to send a certified letter, and then they tell you they no longer read letters.
