Informacje dotyczące firmy
Napisane przez firmę
Like most great companies, it all started with an idea. In 1974, Jon and Christel DeHaan set out to add greater value to the timeshare experience when they pioneered the vacation exchange concept. The DeHaans developed a system that allowed owners to exchange time at their home resort for a stay at a different affiliated property—delivering a new level of flexibility and choice to timeshare owners and revolutionizing an industry in the process. Today, RCI remains the leader in vacation exchange, offering the world’s largest vacation exchange network and providing unrivaled products and services to enhance the vacation ownership experience. It’s one of the many reasons why more resorts trust RCI to deliver vacation exchange services to its subscribing members than any other company across the globe

Terrible experience excess fees not being refunded.
A year ago in 2025 I enquired about signing up to RCI. As a timeshare owner with a home resort in the USA, but as an Australian resident, after a few days of checking I was informed I could only sign up to RCI USA where they charge about 245% more expensive annual fees for the option I wanted. I didn't sign up at that time.
In 2026, I went ahead and signed up and paid the USA fees for 3 years membership. I then got my home resort to deposit my weeks.
Searches and attempts to book didn't seem to work correctly, so I phoned them and was informed I had been converted to a Pacific membership (the one that's much cheaper) because of my home address and AUD currency.
So they converted me to the AUD $179 membership for 3 years and charged me $440 AUD (from $309 USD).
The rep explained that because of this conversion, I was entitled to a partial refund from RCI. He would contact RCI USA and get it arranged and call me back. 2 weeks later, no word, no refund, just silence.
Judging by the terrible reviews, RCI has not a care in the world about their reputation, the only care seems to be about money - keeping as much of your money as they possibly can.
At one point RCI was amazing... Not anymore
At one point RCI was amazing! You would pay a very low fee and exchange points and you were good to go. Ever since Wynhdam bought out RCI, its been AWFUL!! It's NOT WORTH IT unless you are a Wynhdam timeshare owner. They are CROOKS and have added on so many fees. So at one point a 7night vacation you would only pay the fee and your points. Now it costs $300 exchange fee, points, a cost for everyday staying there, maintenance fees, parking fees, housekeeping fees etc; you name it. In the end, the cost for a vacation ends up being cheaper elsewhere; its really not worth to book with RCI and better to find your own vacation. It's sad when GREED comes knocking in when RCI was once a great program.
Family friendly resorts
I just took my wife and 2 kids for 2 months in South Africa using our RCI to stay at multiple resorts for multiple weeks and cannot rave about RCI loudly enough.
The kids were doted on and we were treated like royalty each step of the way.
Thanks RCI you made it so easy to book beautiful resorts at super low cost.
Highly recommend.
Absolutely fraudulent and now that…
Absolutely fraudulent and now that we've caught them in the act they won't reply to me at all. They told me my initial $525 was resort fees just to 1) not get to stay in the place that we booked at through them(not even the same resort) and 2) find out that the resort never charged those fees and they never received that money. Do not use, DO NOT USE, DO NOT USE them. I spoke with them on the phone asking about the fees and they couldn't explain. I had to go because I was out of international minutes. I asked them to explain the charges via email (documented) they started calling me over and over again and not answering my emails. The people on island outed them and explained that none of that money actually ever ends up with the resorts or condo owners that they claim it does. They are blatantly lying. We've been encouraged to report them to the board of tourism here as well. Shocking and so insidious.
DO NOT SIGN UP WITH RCI - NOT WORTH IT
Myself, along with 6,000 other owners are currently in the process of trying to "exit" the contract. So many lies were told during the presentation. They say you can get paid for giving up your contracted week - ha - turns out they pay you in...POINTS. 18 points. You need 52+ points to fully pay off a vacation. You cannot exit the contract unless you have paid your unit off in full, have your account in positive standing and pay an additional $2200 to exit the contract. What a nightmare. They rush you in signing the papers and there's so much paperwork , in hindsight I can see where they rushed me past the exit criteria. They tell you have 1 5 days to cancel. Its so much cheaper to just book flights or hotels with your own funds. It doesnt make sense to pay $177 a month for biannual use of a unit. The flight offerings are like 10x more expensive than just going to a regular website. If you want to book a vacation for the $379 for 7 days...you have to plan it out a year in advance. I remember asking if I could use that special at any time. She kept saying yes...well, 6 months later i call to schedule multiple vacations. You can use it..1 year out...and that promo only 1x a year. You also have to pay a yearly $250 maintenance fee annnnnd pay a yearly renewal fee in order to book your vacation. Needless to say not worth it. Charming, conniving snakes salesforce.
( Franz )
RCI is not a good organization to do business with as evidenced by this an a great deal of the other reviews . We can’t all be wrong !
They are terrible to book a trip with at The Manhattan Club where we are contract members. The sales representative grossly misrepresented the booking experience saying we would have no problem in booking our normal December reservations 1year in advance as we had always done directly with TMClub.
Fake?
Fake?
Buchen lieber weiterhin in seriösen Reisebüros.

We took a 3 Day Cruise on the RCL ship…BUYER BEWARE!!!
We took a 3 Day Cruise on the RCL ship Wonders of the Seas. The ship itself is an engineering wonder! It’s fantastic! How RCL bills you for services and excursions is an WONDER….and not the good type! Let me start - first, we (my wife and I) purchased a drink package before we sailed for approximately $600. The very first drink I ordered came with a surcharge because depending on the Bartender serving you there’s a limit on the cost of the drink of either $14 or $16 dollars per drink! So preordering the drink package is a complete ripoff if you’re going to average say 5 -6 drinks per day per person because you’re really on the ship for 3 days but RCL charges you for 4 days. Second, we purchased an excursion for the first port. We went the Hideaway Beach. The charge on the website on board was $75 PP but we were billed $144 PP. I didn’t notice that until we returned home and checked the invoice that RCL provided. So I called RCL and I was informed about “Dynamic Pricing”! Let be honest - Hideaway is a beach on an RCL Private Island. There’s no way the cost should have increased that much even if you accept their “Dynamic Pricing” excuse! Another ripoff! And third, we purchased some jewelry at the EFFY store on board of the ship, the people assisting behave as they are giving you a great discount off of the Retail Price. They also promised to provide a certificate for each item purchased which they never did! So when we returned home my wife contacted the EFFY HQ in New York. At that point she discovered that we were dramatically overcharged for the items! The items were on sale on the EFFY website and the person that my wife spoke with said that the people at the Wonder of the Seas store should have known that! Well let’s call that ripoff number 3 during our cruise! For full disclosure, EFFY is providing a refund for the difference but it, unfortunately, has to go through RCL so it will take longer! Bottom line, RCL is ripping people of while you’re on the ship, in our opinion! So as the expression goes “Buyer beware!”
A BUNCH OF THIEVES!!!!
A BUNCH OF THIEVES!!!!! I BOUGHT 3 EXCHANGE CONDOS AND HAD TO CANCEL ONE OF THEM. THEY KEPT MY $300 EXCHANGE FEE!!!! THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL AND A CRIME!!! JUST IMAGINE HOW MUCH FREE MONEY THEY MAKE OFF OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE TO CANCEL. JUST TERRIBLE COMPANY FOR DOING THIS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. SHAME ON YOU RCI!!!!!!!!!
RCI books cruises.
I just booked a cruise with RCI cruises, a part of the timeshare. I got the best service.
Addie Simpson, our cruise travel agent made sure that we got well located cabins, and was very dedicated to find and apply all of the on board credits. She had a really nice demeanour and was extremely knowledgeable about all things cruises.
I have found my new cruise travel agent!!!!

RCI has improved significantly since the days when you could only search with a phone call.
If you are buying a timeshare, RCI is a very valuable service.
Skiathos Blu Hotel
I booked a holiday through RCI at Skiathos Blu Hotel and was extremely disappointed with the standard of the RCI accommodation. It falls far below what I would expect. The bathroom is unclean with only a bath and no shower, and the kitchen is poorly equipped—barely any utensils or cutlery. While the TUI section of the hotel is lovely and well-maintained, the RCI rooms are noticeably substandard. To make matters worse, there’s no WiFi coverage in the RCI rooms. I find it hard to believe RCI considers this an acceptable offering for their clients.
Danger in Carpediem Roma Golf Club
The hotel is nice and clean, but security is very poor. The safe is still locked, and we were robbed by staff member for USD 700.00. It is no ideal to carry your laptops and all expensive belonging that don´t even fit into the safe around with you in Roma or golfing, but if you leave them in the hotel and they are stolen, the manager will never show his face. There is a thief among the staff running around, and the manager prefers to ignore it. If something goes missing in that hotel, no one will do anything for you, let alone refund you. It´s safer to take your money with you on your excursions and risk being robbed by pickpockets on the subway.
We have owned a timeshare for 17yrs
We have owned a timeshare for 17yrs. And have been an RCI member for 17yrs.
Have never had an issue with booking. Or had any issues with units. 2x we asked to be moved and we were accommodated no questions asked. We are presently in Spain at El Cano Apartments which has received many bad reviews. Pool, Restaurants closed etc. We were given a wrist band by Majic World to use 3 of there pools. Were given instructions on what Restaurants we good use. Apartment over looks the sea, clean. Yes could use a couple of kitchen items. Like a spatula and tea towels. But we managed and made due with what was available. We are 100% satisfied with our experience here
RCI Accept Bookings Then Cancels Months Later
Live in Australia and booked a points exchange with RCI online on the 18th of March at Twin Peaks Resort in Whistler for January 2026. In Mid May they just cancel the booking with no explanation, after several phone calls told the resort is no longer partnering with RCI in 2026 after accepting the booking. A month of trying to deal with an incompetent call centre team we are left with no option but to engage a lawyer.
RCI is not trustworthy
We have points with RCI which they allow to be exchanged in foreign countries. We've never had a problem before, but when booking a trip to Aus after they confirmed the booking, they went and canceled. Its not acceptable
