Very frustrating experience
Very frustrating experience. The company states that accessibility information is available on the website and in confirmation emails, but we found no accessibility details anywhere.
We later learned through reviews that the resort we booked in the Dominican Republic is not wheelchair accessible. Since we rely on wheelchairs and walkers, arriving there without accessible accommodations would have created a serious problem.
The lack of clear accessibility information nearly caused a major travel issue for us. Disabled travelers should verify accessibility directly with the resort rather than relying on the company’s claims.
Total scam
Total scam
They give you the wrong information and then they don't even apologize for the mistakes they make. Do not book with Interval. Total scam
If you try to cancel they keep your money and you loose all points that were exchanged to them.
An absolute nightmare of a Company
Systems that don’t ‘talk’ to one another for reservations and property info, units that I wouldn’t rent to a homeless person they are so dilapidated, money money money every time you turn around, so we end up paying approx 3x what we would by just calling the properties and just booking as a hotel guest; pet friendly offers that turn out NOT to be pet friendly, vandalism of our property/vehicles, so NO security and mgmt couldn’t care less. I didn’t have a say in this purchase at the time or I would have said DON’T! But I can at least try to warn others. This is an 80’s concept that is dying a slow, hard death and taking its owners down with it.
We traded in a week of our time share
We traded in a week of our time share, 60K points for an all inclusive resort. We paid the $ 328.00 exchange fee and were told we had to pay seperately for the food and beverage. That fee was $1500. per person.
While we were at the resort we learned that the cost for the room and food and beverage per person was $1500.
So we esentially lost a weeks time share vacation. Interval said there was nothing they could do to accomodate us.
It would have cost us less to book directly with the resort and we would not have lost a time share week. My understanding is that Interval International is owned by Marriott ,very disappointing and unethical.
Horrible service
Horrible service, low quality exchanges and retaliation against customers who file complaints. We are "Platinum" Interval International customers and the experience we are having is horrendous and possibly illegal. Our latest issue was with an exchange in Destin FL where the resort was rennovating the room while we were there and requiring the ability to be in our room from 8am-5pm during our vacation. We had to make other arrangements outside of Interval (@ our own expense) and was to be refunded our week exchange, the exchange fee, and additional $50 credit. When we did not receive the credits, we opened a dispute on our American Express Card. Because we opened a dispute Interval International retaliated by blocking access to our Interval account (even though we owed no fees or anything). This is in clear violation with Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA) with regards to retaliation against a customer for filing a complaint, besides being horrible customer service for a 20+ year "Platinum" Interval customer.
Most Unethical Company
This is one of the most unethical companies I have ever dealt with in my life. We purchased a week at a resort in St. Lucia, which fell apart when our country invaded Venezuela and the airspace to the Caribbean was closed down. People were stuck on the islands and hundreds of flights were cancelled. Instead of doing the ethical thing and refunding our money - they stole it. The resort never got paid. Interval International added no value. They just stole the money. Crooks. I will never deal with them again and I'm warning everyone to stay away.
Customer Service & Website both need an overhaul
While I like International International (II) concept and have been a happy member since 2007 the system has gone from average to a steady decline. Website needs drastic improvement that they choose not to incorporate. Worst issue has been the customer service is horrible. When you do have an issue the last few years expect the 6 to 16 person you talk with to be able to finally provide service. Not to mention an elderly financial scam I caught them in red-handed in around 10 years ago. Today was a typical horrible experience.
Interval International SUCKS!!
We Traded 8 person- 2 bedroom San Diego Hyatt Vacation club w/ 2 Bedroom -King bed, 2 full beds, hide-a-bed couch, Full kitchen, dining room, & living room w/ FREE pools, water slides, gyms, volleyball, tennis & pickle ball FOR 1 STAR WAYQEY Peru Motel 6 room. We were told at Check-in that Interval Intnl in phone call told front desk that we needed to pay $50 MORE than Exchange fee already pd & we were due 0 FREE FULL Breakfasts= 21, as Advertised, as included. We got a DIRTY room w/ dark hairs on floor & in 'unused' sheets. 0 Hot water & a leaky toilet. Husband & I are over 60+ yrs old sleeping on a Twin!! He got leg cramps in both legs & I fell out of bed, while turning over!! Not even room for a chair in the room. Welcome to Our Family Christmas Peru Vacation from HELL! Interval Intl & Wayqey hotel Played Grinch this Christmas! They should ALL be ASHAMED of themselves!

Customer service is awful and the operators I have talked to (3 total) regarding the same issues are all rude and can’t understand English well
A Scam? I think so!
We purchased Interval International's travel plan on September 20, 2025. It's been a month and we still don't have our membership activated. I have talked with the sales guy several times and he promises to get to the bottom of this and call me back but he has started not answering my texts or calls. I've contacted customer support and have been told it could take up to 2 months to get activated. That's not what we were told! We were told by the sales guy that we would be activated within a week of our purchase. Before spending any more money, including our first payment for maintenance fees, we want answers. I was told this company was a scam. I wanted to believe otherwise but it appears that is exactly what it is.
Interval International
Interval International, Inc. is a complete waste of money. Both the website and phone verified that I have a week to deposit from 2024. They set up a week's stay. Three days later, Interval International notified me that my home timeshare canceled the stay. In checking with them, they claim no knowledge. When I decided to cancel my 1-year membership after just three days, they deducted 10% of the membership fee, stating it was prorated. The escalation department resolved the matter. I will connect with my home timeshare to determine if they work with more reputable companies.
Run Forest Run
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with several aspects of my recent experience as a member of Interval International. I have encountered multiple issues that have left me frustrated and questioning the value of my membership.
1. Customer ServiceOn [date of call], I contacted your customer service team to discuss my concerns about upcoming travel plans due to weather conditions. Unfortunately, the representative I spoke with, based in Miami, seemed dismissive of my concerns. Despite my efforts to explain the situation, I felt unfairly challenged and was met with unnecessary confrontation, which was both unexpected and disappointing.
2. Policy Clarity I have found that the details regarding membership certificates, fees, and rules are not clearly communicated. This lack of transparency has led to confusion and difficulty in planning my exchanges.
3. Inventory and Property Quality: The properties I have accessed through Interval were not well-maintained, and there seems to be limited inventory available, restricting my options significantly.
4. Rising Fees and Membership Benefits: The continuous increase in fees, especially as a Platinum member, does not seem justified by the benefits received. The supposed advantages of this tier are not apparent, thus questioning the value for the additional cost.
5. Cancellation and Exchange Flexibility* The flexibility advertised is misleading. I have found the cancellation policies to be restrictive, particularly disappointing when it is nearly impossible to make changes without incurring additional fees.
6. *Insurance Policy The insurance offered is another point of contention. It appears to be a poor investment as it seems only to apply in life-altering circumstances. This does not provide practical or helpful coverage for most members when planning and altering travel.
7. Bait-and-Switch Tactics I feel that the services provided employ bait-and-switch tactics and deception, lacking in empathy toward members' needs. There is a clear discrepancy between what is advertised and what is delivered.
8. Amenities Misrepresentation: It is concerning that Interval International is not responsible for amenities that are unavailable or down at the properties, yet such amenities are frequently advertised. This misrepresentation is deceitful and drastically affects the quality of the experience offered.
In light of these issues, I advise potential members to save their money and be cautious of engaging with your services. I urge your company to review these practices, as they not only damage the reputation of Interval International but also betray the trust of your loyal members.
I swapped out my unit and got the worst in exhange
I swapped out my unit, which I've done before in the last decade, but this time, the location they gave me to a timeshare is the absolute worst they have in that development. Shouldn't be surprised - we have noticed every year the available timeshare to choose from get to be less and less. If they lose Marriott, they'll have to close their doors. Once my membership expires this year, I will NOT be renewing. RCI looks better and better!
If indeed I could give minus 10 stars…
If indeed I could give minus 10 stars of this company, I would. We booked a cruise through their cruise exchange program. When I booked it, the person on the other end said with insurance. After a few months, we questioned whether we could go. then I was told there was no insurance. We decided to go. Then we were assigned a very high deck, asked to change to a lower deck and was told the agency had to change it. After being on hold for 1hour, the manifest closed. And there is no body there on weekends Thanks, Interval, we lost $5000 because of you.
I would give a zero stars if I could
I would give a zero stars if I could. Very poor selection- nothing to choose from. What are they taking money for? Website poorly designed. No pictures ,very little informations about hotel. They are even worse than TPI
I have been a customer of Interval…
I have been a customer of Interval International for over 40 years now and I have never been more disappointed in customer service than in am today.
We booked an all inclusive getaway to Cancun and were told by their representative that the all inclusive fees were $1159.00 per person per week.
We received an email with a confirmation number and information pertaining to an all inclusive fee of $1159.00 per night and that there could not be any changes made because it was a getaway reservation.
We called the resort direct, and they confirmed that the all inclusive fees were indeed $7000.00 for the week. This was their mistake.
We then called Interval to cancel or make alternative arrangements and they refused to make any concessions stating that that was policy on a getaway reservation even though we had an alternative resort in mind. No flexibility.
I will not renew my membership and I would hope others follow suit to avoid their booking mistakes.
Misleading to Say the Least
I tried to redeem as someone else mentioned a "value less certificate" they sent, which advertised a 7-day vacation. My error is that I didn't comprehend the cost of the exorbitant mandatory meal plan which would have cost me over $4,000. It is determined by the type of unit you reserve which, the certificate advertised that I could get a unit that slept up to five people I only had 3 people, including myself), well they recoup the cost by charging the mandatory meal plan at "all-inclusive" resorts. I canceled the reservation, but they did not refund me the $369.00 in exchange fee. I was told I would have had to cancel within 24 hours of making the reservation. A trustworthy company would EXPLICIT the actual cost of your reservation when you select your choice of accommodation. The costs are made directly to the resort. Yes, I take responsibility for not fully comprehending the cost, yet I was misled to believe that the certificate saved me money. It's not if the mandatory meal plan costs over 4K. I am very disappointed in this company. I could not find a phone number on their website. I deeply regret buying into the Marriott/Sheraton Vacation Clubs in which Interval is included in the package.

DO NOT USE THEM
HORRIBLE
HORRIBLE. I am SOOO glad that Marriott is reconsidering their involvement with this terrible third party company. First of all, the customer service is atrocious. Not based in the US, so hard to understand people and they do NOT care about helping. Rude and not accommodating.
Also, we have noticed a HUGE decline in availability for getaways and rooms. Literally practically ZERO 2 bedrooms pop up anymore. Not worth it. Not to mention their app crashes all the time, and different options exist on the app vs. website, for example setting a watch list.
Their platform is outdated, and lacks accurate info. Old pics, outdated policies for resorts as well. I hope Marriott dumps them SOON.
