Bought a Skyjack online that they said was operating, when it arrived the hydraulic drive motor was broken in half, hydraulic oil all over the place and wouldn't even turn the wheel. £4K repair on a £5k machine, took two months too reply to me after loads of emails and phone calls. Refused to take the machine back and return my money, or pay for any part of the repair. Very unhelpful. Have a full time Senior legal liaison so you have no chance of getting your money back - item not as described, don't trust them.

"Ungebrauchte" Baumaschinen an egal wen auch immer zu versteigern, die extra für solche Versteigerungen produziert werden (mit CE Nr.) und für die es nach dem Kauf keinen Service oder eine Vertretung in Europa gibt, sollte verboten werden. ist aber für Ritchie Bros, sowie unseren Staat (man zahlt ja trotzdem die MwSt.) ein sehr einträgliches Geschäft.
Die Mitarbeiter sind im allgemeinen behilflich beim Verladen.
Zubehör welches nicht wochenlangem dem Wetter ausgesetzt werden kann, ... den Rest schenke ich mir. Eine trockene Beschreibung der Maschine ist nicht zu erwarten!!
Kaufen Sie nichts!!! ohne vorher 100% im Bilde zu sein was Sie tun. Keine Maschine ohne Test!! Keine Maschine unter dem "Mindestabwicklungspreis". Keine elektrischen Bagger, die Schäden aufweisen und vom österreichischen Importeur anscheinend so besser verkauft werden können (ohne Garantie) um sie anschließend zu reparieren, keinen chinesischen Plunder der seit Wochen im freien steht (sieht auf den Bildern oft anders aus) u.v.m..
Mit unseriösem Verhalten und Ignoranz kann man immer noch gute Geschäfte tätigen.

I had been using Ritchie Bros as one of those resources for that for over 40 years and had numerous dealings some good some bad but now that Ritchie Bros has become a huge corporation all my recent dealings have been bad both selling and buying and I have learned that Ritchie Bros standard response and what I now call there Motto is

BUYING:

1) On Feb 20, 2023 in Orlando, FL, USA Lot # 17349 Purchase Lot of 5 Pieces With Description ONLY of " Quantity of Electric Exhaust Fans"

4 of the pieces in the lot were old fans with no value - but one of the fans was a Brand New Unit with a value of $17,000,00 USD which I knew exactly what it was and what it was worth and what I wanted and purchased for the new large shop I am building in NB .

I PURCHASED THIS LOT OF 5 PEICES FOR $110.00 USD FOR ALL FIVE PEICES

In this case Ritchie Bros also screwed their seller as this unit A NEW NEVER USED ON FACTORY PALLET DIRECT DRIVE 15 HP DUSTPROOF HIGH VOLUME EXPLOSION PROOF FAN worth $17,000.00 USD should never have been thrown in with a lot of old well used fans and should have had complete details which it did not and I am sure the seller freaked out and Ritchie Bros was trying to screw me out of the unit to appease the seller and deliberately did not load the unit hoping we would not notice ?? What a way to conduct business.

I bought also 4 pallets of various Excavator Bucket Pins as needed them for the Equipment were are liquidating as we retire and move back to NB.

Ritchie Bros demanded we set up an appointment to load which we finally got on or about April 1 , 2023 5 weeks after the sale.

When the driver attended to the site they had him stand by from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and he the driver tells me there was no reason for that and finally starting loading after 8 Hours for which I am paying standby rate for the truck??

Finally about 4:30 Ritchie Started loading the truck but even though driver specifically informed them that the large new Grey Fan was part of the lot Ritchie Bros Refused to load it and stated the yard was closing - the driver contacted me and I tried to contact their site supervisor who was gone for the day - OR SO THEY SAY AND NOBODY ELSE COULD HELP ME??

The loading staff told the driver he had to leave or have his truck locked in the yard.

As he had other pickups booked he left and proceeded to load his other freight 300 miles away.

When he arrived in NB the fan was not on the truck and when I called Florida they insisted it was loaded and the driver must have unloaded it in a wrong delivery ??

I spent 2 days fighting back and forth and they finally admitted it was in their yard and I had to send another truck to Florida to pickup the Fan.

This whole episode with standby - having to send anther truck - having to do customs clearances again cost me well over $3000.00.

When I approached Ritchie Bros I got their stand motto:

Now after 10 Months they refuse to answer emails and when I phone they run me around for 1/2 hour - PLACE ME on hold and then state they will have to get back to me and never do.

SO IN THIS CASE THEY SCREWED BOTH THE SELLER AND ME BY THEIR INCOMPETENCE ON BEHALF OF THE SELLER AND/OR DELIBERATE ATTEMPT TO DECEIVE and DEFRAUD ME.

Blood thirsty money hungry business, commission has gone through the roof and buyer premium's!!!!. Less and less service over the past two years. Buyer premium's have gone from 10 percent for lots over 2500.00 to 15 percent for lots over 12,000.00 and 1/4 of the staff

I won't be buying again. I've purchased many items over the years from the Dunnigan site, tens of thousands of dollars' worth. Now they just have completely collapsed as a seller. I was injured loading my purchase because their "loader" refused to load my item. They charge taxes on their bidder fee. How is that legal? $100 minimum bid fee on an item that sells for 5$. Now they've increased the fee's again?! 15% on any item $12k or less. Way too many problems happening more often for larger and larger fees. And the lines? I arrived at 11:00 am...I wasn't loaded and out the gate until after 4pm. A line to pay, a line to get in, a line to get loaded and a line to leave. Expect to spend the entire day there. Buyers and sellers BEWARE!

Not to contradict the tremendous amount of bad reviews, but my experience and purchase with Ritchie Bros. was flawless.

Caveat: I bought through their "Marketplace E", which is a reselling market for similar equipment that you get at regular auction, so maybe processes (or at least personnel) are slightly different, but this is still part of the Ritchie Bros services, and for me this service worked perfectly.

I found a refurbished HMMWV that I liked on their Marketplace E. I placed an offer for the vehicle and waited the 2 business days for what I expected would be an "accept", "decline", or "counter offer". After 4 business days I called the Ritchie Bros sales department to see what was up. They informed me that the seller had set a no-less-than limit that my offer did not reach, so my offer was deemed unacceptable and was therefore classified as "invalid". It probably would have been nice to know that "invalid" was another option, but they do provide you a number to call in the event that you have questions about your offer. So I guess if you are a serious bidder, you will call the number, which is exactly what I did. They were responsive to my questions, explained the reason that my bid was stuck, and offered to call the seller and mediate a fair price. They promptly called me back and advised me of the sellers "left and right limits" (to use a military term), to which I provided what I thought was a very fair bid for the HMMWV, which was promptly accepted by the seller. I received the title for the HMMWV before it even arrived, and the HMMWV I received was exactly as advertised by the seller.

If I had to say something negative (or really "informative") for the buyer, it's that don't be off-put by the extreme inconsistency in business names. I read this on a review, so I knew what to expect, but it was still a little unnerving (especially when you're about to drop $30k+ on an HMMWV) to see. In my case, I found a vehicle on GovPlanet, though the pictures were watermarked as IronPlanet, when I called sales they answered as IronPlanet, yet when they called back, the Caller ID said Ritchie Bros, and purchasing invoice went through TruckPlanet! Crazy and confusing, but if you expect it before you start, then you just roll with it through the process.

The truck I bought on line was not same as the one they have taken pictures of it. Many damages places on the truck they have not taken any pictures of it not even mentioned it as descriptions.

HUGE SCAM. Bought a $140 item and they charged a "$100 Minimum Fee". They hide behind the "you agreed to our terms" language. Disgraceful on how they can get away with this. No one should use this company.

I got in line for the forklift load. It was a short line. 7 hours later they finally put the one item on my trailer.
No kidding, Ritchie bro, decision to have one operator loading has me reconsidering participating in future auctions.

It's not so much the $100 per item handling fee, It is the fact that this change in policy was not made apparent to long time customers who were very familiar and comfortable with the old way and reasonable transaction fees. By introducing this change on pages that needed to be scrolled down to was a dirty and dastardly attempt to make up for years of unprofitable practices. I guarantee this usury will not profit RB in the long run and their greed will come full circle and bite them in the ass. RB used to be my source for new and used agricultural equipment but since they now trick people into paying exorbitant transaction fees, I predict they will fall from their place as number one auctioneer on the planet. RIP RB.

Would never purchase anything from them again. Buy an item on an online auction have to pay for it within a few days, forced to pay sales tax even though I’m sales tax exempt. They said they would refund me the sales tax, amount which is over $15,000 they claim the check must of been lost in the mail. Went to my bank and sent them wiring instructions to wire me the money they claim everything the bank sent them is unclear and not right. It’s getting close to 2 months. I requested to talk to a supervisor which I was denied. I wish I would of bought from any other auction site or dealer even if I would of had to of paid considerably higher just so I wouldn’t of had to deal with so many different people that don’t know anything.

This is a SCAM Website. They are scammimg alot people for their Hard Earn Money. Stay away from this website. How can a Van with blown engine and a 200,000 miles Engine be listed on your website for bidding. You are a SCAMMER. You don't even deserve one STAR.....

Wow this auctioneering are criminals, please read all the bad reviews!! My first time I bought from them was ten dollar item they wanted to charge me 100$ fee. When I complained about it they reduced the fee to 25$ and left the tax at the 100$ rate, I called them again and they reluctantly fixed the tax to the 25$ dollar percentage rate. They actually tried to scam me of 10$ on tax??? A billion dollars company tried to scam me with gov tax of 10$. These bros are crooket mother #%^ckers.

Massey combine at a farm sale was mouse infested in the cab fuse panel and air conditioner. This should have be noted probably get sick from sitting in the cab.

Financial services repeatedly failed to help me while making mistakes on an application they filled out. Cynthia refuses to take responsibility for their mistake while casting blame on me. Very unprofessional!

1.7 Billion dollar profit last year And they have the nerve to charge a $100 documentation fee on any lot under a $1000. Whether it be $5 or $50 lot you have to pay an extra $100 Documentation fee for each lot purchased. You buy 5 lots at $5 a piece? It's gonna cost? Yeah five hundred and twenty five dollars that is just ridiculous. Is is there any government Legislation on these places. Talk about one of the biggest scams in history. I was there paying for my stuff and every 2nd person was complaining about this. But they don't seem to care because it's money in their pocket. An item You pay $1000 for and an item you pay $5 for are both charged a $100 documentation. Fee? Anyone see a problem with that. These auction places are getting ridiculous someone needs to step in and regulate what's going on as far as Ritchie brothers there will be no more purchases there by me and I've talked to a lot of people who are in the same boat.

Criminal place, I bought multiple items at the February sale in Orlando. I was able to pick them all up accept the welder I purchased, it could not be located. We waited three hours for the staff to try and locate it, in the end was told it’s here we just have to find it. Will call you. That never happened, called them multiple times in the last four months, was hung up on, and told will call back. No response at all. Called customer service line, customer service told me “we don’t deal with that, call the location directly”. Which is hilarious, making the customer service line pointless. I checked my online account today, that item has been deleted from my account. Luckily I have a printed sheet and item number from the sale.
So, no refund, no answers, no item. They stole my money and don’t care. I just defined a thief.

There's a line to get into RB then a line to get loaded or unloaded then a line to get out , been a truck driver since 1993 this is the absolute worst place truck driver nightmare .
