The staff were amazing, the whole trip was the best two weeks of my life. Every aspect was utterly perfect

Such an amazing experience meeting new people, stepping out of my comfort zone but easily settling with the extremely kind projects leaders. So good highly recommend!

I really enjoyed being able to work with people from different cultures that have different perspectives and experiences on how to help.

I went to Tanzania recently with this company for a whole two weeks and those have without a doubt become the best of my life. I had the opportunity to meet some amazing people and gain some real, transferrable skills. If you go to Tanzania and get Danny, Jerry and Jessica as your coordinators, you're guaranteed to have the best time! Thank you to everyone involved in my trip and I hope to see you again soon!

Genuinely the greatest experience of my life so far. The immaculate planning and prepping of countless activities and experiences were absolutely incredible. Every single person I met from projects abroad were so welcoming and accommodating. The design and work that goes into the programme really deserves credit, having zero faults.

I would not recommend Projects Abroad based on my experience.

Last year, my daughter booked a volunteer programme in Nepal from 20 September 2025 to 4 October 2025, and we paid £1,500 in advance.

My daughter had already travelled to Nepal when Projects Abroad informed us at the last minute that the programme had been cancelled due to political unrest in the country. She was therefore unable to take part in the programme and had to return to England without receiving the service we had paid for.

I contacted Projects Abroad several times to request a refund. Unfortunately, they refused, saying that their terms and conditions did not allow them to provide a refund. I understand that companies have terms and conditions, but I strongly believe this situation was unfair because the programme was cancelled and my daughter did not receive the service we paid £1,500 for.

Despite making repeated attempts to resolve the matter, Projects Abroad continued to refuse our refund.

I feel extremely disappointed and let down by how this situation was handled. In my opinion, taking £1,500 when the promised programme was cancelled and no service was provided is unacceptable.
I would not recommended Project Abroad to others.

I went on the care project in Tanzania and it was the most incredible trip I have ever been on. It was my first time travelling abroad that far on my own but the coordinators made me feel very comfortable and safe when I was travelling and when I got there. The two weeks were consistently incredible. I was introduced to the most beautiful culture and took part in lots of activities. I would highly recommend to anyone 15-18. It was the most memorable two weeks I’ve spent. Working at the school with the kids was such a rewarding experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The trip was very well organized and the instructors were all super nice and friendly. I loved how everyone there actually wanted to be there and take part in everything and I had a really fun experience.

The experience was very memorable, the staff, the activities, and the people were all so great.

Everything was exactly or even better than I had imagined, and the people were willing to explain, but at the same time they respected you as a person without treating you like a child. The activities were fun and helpful at the same time, but not if you didn't wanna get dirty or muddy. Some things that didn't exist in Taricaya weren't really necessary and it was really interesting to live without them. Everything was really nice, and gave me exactly what I expected from that program: knowledge about nature and a better way to look at life.

it was a really amazing experience, seeing all the animals and meeting new people was so amazing and definitely worth the trip.

The High School Special Medical Project in Tanzania exceeded my expectations in every way. We had incredible access to hospital departments where we witnessed live births and operations. The medical outreach days were great fun and it felt like we really helped in distributing medicines and supporting patients in the community. This was balanced with fun activities and visiting sites like national parks and local tribes. The organisation was great and our coordinators, Jovin and Olivia, were brilliant.

I did the Care and community project in Ghana and it was eye opening and amazing. From trying new food and learning the local language, to building a crop farm for the community and teaching local children English and maths. The staff were exceptional out there aswell with anything I needed or problems, they were there to help.

I spent 2 weeks in the Galapagos as part of the high school volunteer programme. I had the time of my life. The staff were kind and helpful and supported me throughout my time there. I would go back tomorrow if I could!

My two weeks volunteering with Projects Abroad in Tanzania was an experience I will never forget.

Travelling to Tanzania solo and stepping into a completely different culture pushed me outside of my comfort zone in ways I never expected. From learning to navigate daily life, catching the dala dala (public transport) to school each morning, adapting to a different pace of life, and finding confidence in an unfamiliar environment, every challenge became part of what made the experience so rewarding.

The Maasai school was truly the heart of my placement. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed so warmly by the teachers and students. The teachers were some of the kindest and most caring people I have met, and I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to learn and teach alongside them. They went above and beyond to make me feel part of their community, sharing not only their classroom knowledge but their culture, traditions, and everyday lives with me. Being invited to visit a student’s Maasai boma (home) was something I will always remember and gave me a deeper appreciation for the importance of family, community, and culture in Tanzania.

Learning that the school was originally built by volunteers, and that teaching placement fees contribute towards supporting the school and providing things such as meals for students, made me appreciate the wider impact of the program.

The children were incredible — hearing that some students walk up to two hours each way to attend school, yet still arrive with such happiness, curiosity, and enthusiasm, was truly inspiring. They reminded me that volunteering is not only about what you give, but also about what you learn from the people around you.

Living with a homestay family was another special part of my placement. My host family welcomed me with so much kindness and generosity, allowing me to experience everyday Tanzanian life in a way I never could have as a tourist. Sharing meals, conversations, and learning about their way of life was a privilege.

The Projects Abroad team were approachable and supportive, making the transition into a new country and placement feel much easier.

I left Tanzania with so much gratitude for the teachers who welcomed me, the children who inspired me, my host family who shared their home with me, and the community who allowed me to experience a small part of their world. This journey challenged me, taught me, and gave me memories I will carry with me for a lifetime.

I would highly recommend Projects Abroad to anyone looking for a meaningful experience where you don’t just volunteer, but truly immerse yourself in another culture and leave having learnt just as much as you hoped to give.
