Potteries Auctions have given excellent service, the valuations have proved accurate, and the communication has been prompt. I would recommend them to anybody requiring the services of an auctioneer. My items have been involved in a numerous of auctions over the course of a few years.

Over the past year I have sold a variety of items with Potteries Auctions, mainly china but also a collection of model railway engines and rolling stock. The valuers were always knowledgeable and fair in their assessments and the whole process was friendly and straightforward. As I had no previous experience of selling at auction I found it easier than expected and the commission charged seems fair in terms of the work undertaken to catalogue, photograph, publicise and sell the items. I am already thinking of other pieces which I could get an opinion on!

Following the death of my parents Rod and Leah came out to value the contents of our family home and we later consigned everything to auction with them. They were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout, showing a genuine interest in items many people would regard as “tat”. I would have no hesitation in using them again.

Fabulous auction house. I have both bought and sold from here. As far as valuations are concerned I highly recommend bringing your treasures and heirlooms along for appraisal. I have dealt in particular with Nathan (Senior Valuer) twice now and the knowledgeable but common sense, friendly approach should put any buyer or seller at ease. Great place.

We were met at the door and shown to a table to spread our items , our valuer soon sorted things into interested and not interested items in a very friendly and courteous manner , and briefed us on the auction process.

We arrived on time for an appointment, and was Not kept waiting. We had a mixture of all sorts. They were polite and respectful even with the none valuables that we brought for them to value. A good knowledgeable team.

This auction house listed a fine porcelain cup but omitted to mention it had a hairline crack and chip. On complaint, they said I should have commissioned a condition report. Most decent auction houses would mention and photo such issues. Not to do so, is in my opinion deceitful. For those who buy at auction a lot, it can be a very chore getting through to ask for condition reports and often they are not supplied. So i take this as short-hand for poor service, not least when you consider all the commission they charge to buyers and sellers. Disappointing to say the least.

won a couple of items. Nothing major , bulky or expensive. Didn't see the invoice attachment in the email. I called to pay and the guy I spoke to was downright, abrasive, unpleasant and rude. Asked for bank details to get it paid but he wanted to argue instead of just getting the job done. Bill was paid instantly when I hung up including postage. Not sure how he worked it out but the postage seemed excessive. Could have been sorted instantly with a bit of customer service and he would have kept a customer. Needless to say I've taken note and will not be using them again. Horrid attitude.

I especially appreciate Potteries' attention to timely and courteous communication; I always knew right where we stood. Also, their in-house shipping service is amazing - and fast. And, thank you for a wonderful object! (Naturally that's the best part!)
