I used Platehunter to buy a private plate as a birthday gift while also in the middle of buying a new car — which adds its own complications with the V5 and transfer process. Despite that, they were brilliant throughout.

They replied to emails even over the weekend, kept everything moving, and made what could have been a stressful process feel quick and straightforward. The transfer side especially was handled smoothly.

I’ll admit the website looks a little basic at first (I even wondered if it might be a bit dodgy!), but everything worked perfectly and the service was excellent from start to finish.

I purchased the number plate at 10am in the morning and by 3pm, the same day, they had contacted the DVLA and informed me that I could put the new number plate on my car. 5* got plates within couple days and the registration paperwork day or later the same plate was on sale on dvla site but was more expensive so good deal even getting 4d plates made with blue border in Scotland flag 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and fixing kit it was still cheaper than DVLA website am happy cheers
