I am deeply disappointed and distressed by the experience my daughter had at PGL. What was supposed to be an enjoyable residential trip turned into an ordeal that I am now pursuing as a formal complaint.
On arrival, her bedding was soiled and contained dead insects. She raised this with five different members of staff including the group leader, and was ignored. She slept on a towel with no blanket or pillow for an entire night.
my daughter is neurodivergent. Despite this being known in advance, staff refused to let her sit out of activities, failed to provide alternative food options leaving her to go to bed hungry, and did not administer her medication for several hours when she needed ibuprofen.
She was subjected to direct racist abuse from other children, which staff witnessed and did nothing about.
There were also serious safeguarding concerns regarding the separation of boys' and girls' accommodation, and items found on site that should never be present in a children's environment.
As PGL is Ofsted regulated, I will be escalating my concerns accordingly if a satisfactory response is not received.
The only positives were a small number of staff — Leah, Beth, Tamzen, Harry and Claire — who were genuinely helpful.

Huge range of activities meant really busy days. Catering and the variety of food each day was great. Kids and adults all had a fantastic holiday.

The whole PGL staff are excellent. Nothing is too much for them and they accommodated our every request. The activities were very well run with enthusiastic leaders who encouraged and supported all children. The staff accommodation was very good compared to other residentials I have been on with coffee and tea making facilities in the room and towels. All rooms, including the children's were ensuite. The food was excellent with a good range and all allergies and preferences catered for. The location was very good and the whole site well maintained. I would highly recommend as a residential choice. Our children were Primary year 5/6 and all had a fantastic and memorable stay. Our group leader, Quinn, was exceptional and could not have been more 'present' and supportive of our needs.

Fantastic school residential at PGL Liddington. Excellent group leader (Maggie), great activities, plenty of delicious food, and comfortable accommodation. We came home with lots of exhausted but very happy children. A brilliant trip from start to finish!

From start to finish, the PGL team were super-organised and confident in their roles. First time using PGL for our school residential - I thought it might be corporate and bland, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The PGL team all seem like they really enjoy their roles, making it so much nicer for the kids.

This was our first experience with PGL and we could not have asked for anymore. From the inital booking to leaving the site we had our every need catered for. PGL have thought of everything that schools could ever need on a residential. Everyone, both staff and children, were brilliantly looked after.
The children were pushed and challenges whilst being fully supported by every member of staff on site.
We will most certainly be using PGL again to book our residential visit.

Staff are fantastic and always go above and beyond for the children in their care - I would highly recommend

I went on Cathorpe court PGL recently, I mean the staff were lovely they were so kind to the teachers and the children and they had great activities, everyone loved the silent disco but the food and facilities were not great. The food was disgusting and made most people feel sick, the meat was not cooked, the yogurt was expired and many other things. The toilets in the room had many spiders, mould and hair on the wall and it smelt awful. The mattresses had lots of stains, there was spiders and bugs under the beds and the rooms were very small. So, i did enjoy it but there was many things that could definitely be better

We took a Boys' Brigade company of approx 20 people (made up of boys and staff) for a weekend at PGL Winmarleigh Hall. The standard of accommodation, activities and all-round hospitality was excellent. The centre is set on expansive grounds, meaning there is plenty of space for different groups to experience a range of activities suited to their needs. The standard of accommodation was excellent and the staff were knowledgeable, always helpful and friendly. The catering is good, with a good choice offered for kids (would have been nice for staff to have a little more variety but I'm being picky!). Overall we were extremely satisfied and would bring our BB group back.

Kids loved thr camp, they came back happy and clean. Great feedback about actovities and food.

It was a shame that the children had to wear their clothes in the water activity when the instructors all wore wetsuits. The clothes were heavy, making it difficult to swim and the children became very cold quickly. There was no drying room for wet shoes and clothes or towels and the week was heavy rain.

Barton Hall has provided our Y6 pupils with yet another great adventurous activity trip. All pupils were engaged throughout, they loved the activities and accommodation, and the catering was a big hit! See you next year!

I wanted to send some feedback following our recent PGL Grow trip to Little Canada on the Isle of Wight with 89 Year 9 students.

The trip was fantastic and the students absolutely loved it. They enjoyed all of the activities and came away with some great memories and experiences.

A big thank you to Becca and Abbie, who made sure we knew where we needed to be and helped keep everything organised throughout the trip. Managing a group of 89 students is no easy task, and they were always helpful, positive and approachable.

I'd also like to mention Nadia (I believe that was her name), who was brilliant throughout the week. I lost my voice on the first day, so her ability to get the students' attention and keep them under control was greatly appreciated. She was confident, organised and a huge help.

Steve, the Night Manager, was amazing as well. Whenever we had a question or a problem, he dealt with it quickly and was always happy to help.

I can't remember the names of all the activity leaders, but they were all excellent with the students. A special mention goes to Ruby, Kody and Jordan, who really left a lasting impression on the group. The students spoke very highly of them and they helped make the activities even more enjoyable.

What really stood out was how enthusiastic and encouraging all of the staff were. They did a great job of building students' confidence and getting them involved, even when some were nervous about trying new things. The whole centre had a really positive atmosphere, and it was clear that the staff genuinely cared about making sure the students had a great experience.

The only suggestion I would make is to allow a little more free time during the day or in the evenings. By the end of the trip, quite a few students were feeling tired and were asking for some downtime to relax and socialise with their friends. A bit more free time would have been appreciated and may have helped students recharge between activities.

Overall, it was an excellent trip and I want to thank everyone involved for helping make it such a memorable experience for our students. We would happily return in the future.

An incredible experience for my 13-year-old daughter! She had a fantastic time making new friends and diving into all the activities. The leaders were absolutely fab, and she even embraced the limited screen time! She is already planning her trip back for next year!

Fantastic camp! The staff were friendly, professional, and great with the children. My child had an amazing time, made new friends, and came home excited with stories about the activities. Highly recommended.

RGS had a fabulous weekend at the gorgeous Château de Grande Romaine! The staff were all very helpful, the rooms were beautifully clean, the food was delicious and the activities were fun! The students loved seeing Paris and especially using their French at Brie market on the Sunday. They will remember this trip for a very long time!

Staff always go above and beyond to make this a truly memorable experience for the children, and a very pleasant one for the teachers!

Our Year 7 and Year 8 students enjoyed a highly rewarding experience at PGL. Throughout the trip, they demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and determination as they took part in a wide range of adventurous activities. Students challenged themselves, built confidence, developed new friendships, and created lasting memories. It was a fulfilling experience that supported both their personal growth and wider development beyond the classroom.

The location is great, the grounds are huge and lots of nature.
The activities for the children were well organised and planned.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is outstanding and plenty of choice.
The staff were attentive and enthusiastic
