It is almost impossible to reach Pentair’s customer service. Communicating on their website through “contact us” always remains with no reply. When called, the automated message the customer gets is that the wait is 20 minutes plus. Around the 20th minute you get another automated message if you want to leave your phone number to be called. Not trusting to be called back, the total hold is at least 1 hour. The last time I was on hold for 1h 30 min!! This wait is regardless of what day or time you call.
I purchased their Salt Cell Intellichlor Plus and in less than one month the cell is providing inaccurate information for the salt level 600ppm more to the actual salt level. I called the warranty department, and they assigned back the work to the distributor who installed the cell in the first place. This distributor changed only the panel claiming no need to change the whole cell. At the time of this replacement the difference was around 200 ppm and the distributor advised that this is normal!
Few days later the salt level was totally inaccurate again 600 ppm more. I called back Pentair to return it. The reply was that Pentair is not the one who sold it to me and I must call the distributor. I told the customer service agent that I hear that Pentair have problems with this product, he replied that they are in the trial-and-error period. When I asked how come you are selling a product that is still in the trial & error period, I got no reply.
I paid $1,200 for it and you would expect that you will be serviced when you invest so much in a product. I called the distributor to return it. My request fell on deaf ears! The distributor texted me: These cells have been having some issues so we won’t be able to get to read any closer to the accurate level and to give it six months before trying to replace any other parts as they will likely disrupt the system further”!!
Regarding the price, while I was shopping for one, I got quotes from $1,200 to $1,600. Any company that cares about their customers would limit the mark up. This product is sold by a company who knows well that this product is not ready for the market and accepted by distributors knowing the same thing but still accept to pass it to customers!

Bought an IC 60PLUS as a replacement for a prior unit that s a replacement for a prior unit, and my system is "all Pentair" from the power supply to the filter, etc.
I purchased it on February 23rd and it was a "plug and play" installation because of the prior piping and electrical system (Pentair Power Center) that occurred a month later. It died yesterday and I duly registered the product and then sought to initiate a warranty claim. There is NO ONLINE PORTAL for doing that. One must call the 800 number and go through the prompts, which I did. I was on hold for literally an hour and 10 minutes and then I had to tap out after repeatedly hearing the "your call is important to us - please continue to hold" recording in the midst of the muzak.
This is a disgraceful lack of customer service. I'm past the Amazon return window, and am kicking myself for not purchasing a "knock off" at half the price that could not have been worse. There is no customer service email address or any other way to reach this company other than the 800 number. I'm trying again today, but so much for "buying American," as a way to support jobs in the USA. Buy the foreign knock off at half the price and 1/10th of the aggravation

Don't buy from Pentair!
Don't buy products from this company!!!! I purchased a suite of products (chlorinator, pump, and controller), had them installed by professionals and within the three year warranty period the chlorinator died. I called customer service was on line for an hour plus on two separate occasions and no one ever picked up! I found a local pool supply company who said they do warranty work for Pentair, they gave it a try and after two weeks plus of checking said Pentair would not honor my warranty claim.
Never again will I give this company and it's products even a first look. It's products don't hold up, it's customer service is an abomination and it's warranties are not worth the paper they are written on.

Absolutely impossible to get service on the phone. Pool/spa heater is down after two seasons. Reading customer experience makes me sick. My pool was a six figure investment. I thought I had chosen the best pool company and they built a very nice pool. The equiptment however is pretty much a mess. So disappointing.

Non-stop problems with pentair pool heater. It's currently 2.5 years old. It hasn't worked correctly since it was installed. Of course their warranty is only 2 years for the problem I have. I have called twice with hour holds. Expect a call to pentair to take up almost half your day. When someone finally answered, I asked that they not hang up. At that point the person "helping" had an attitude problem with me. I haven't had much luck with any large corporation lately with AI taking over.

Currently 2 hours and 21 minutes on hold for these chumps! This will be the 6th time in 2 1/2 years that I have had to call for repairs to my Pentair Mastertemp 400. Other issues with Pentair equipment include replacing leds lights after less that 1 year, new electronic board for intellicenter, and Pentair Prowler 920 dead after two seasons. All was professionally installed. So disappointed in the poor product quality, and especially frustrated with lack of customer care. Recommend AVOIDING Pentair Products. Do your own research and don’t let your Pool Professional talk you into Pentair. You will pay a high price in time and replacement.

They absolutely suck balls. Brand new intellichlor ic 30 +. Cell fault right away . Installer says I have to go through pentair. Going to take the loss, going back to tablets and jugs. At least those are reliable . Do not buy this shit!
Intelichlor horrors!!!
I had a pool installed back in 2021. The pool company convinced me to install a Intelichlor salt generator system. The cell failed in less than 2 years. I contacted the company and they had someone come and replace the cell right away. It is now just over 2 years later and the system failed. Again!
I submitted a request thru the Pentair website and have never received the courtesy of a reply. I called them several times. They never answer. Today I was on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes. No one answered.
I just want everyone to know how absolutely horrible the product is and also their customer service.

Autre événement : le chlorinateur SC75 a été installé en juillet 2021. Alorsqu il ne fonctionne que 4 a 5 mois par an, et que je le démonte chaque hiver, la languette inox munie d un capteur , a cassé 2 fois en 4 saisons. Pentair s en fiche . A FUIR.

Comme tant d’autres l’ont raconté ici ma pompe est tombée en panne évidemment au début de l’été… Mon Pisciniste indépendant est venu la retirer et l’a envoyé en réparation. Et c’est là que l’arnaque totale commence. Dois-je préciser que ma Pompe était sous garantie encore pendant sept mois, lorsqu’elle est tombée en panne… On a indiqué à mon Pisciniste que j’avais fait un usage anormal de cette pompe… (Comment fait-on un usage anormal d’une pompe programmée, utilisée dans une piscine standard ?…) Qu’elle n’était pas réparable et que rien ne viendrait de leur côté ; le service après-vente a même eu le culot de renvoyer des photos d’un moteur d une pompe usagée qui n’était pas la mienne pour montrer qu’elle était anormalement, abîmée…; mon Pisciniste m’a fait traîner pendant six mois sans rien faire malgré je ne sais combien de relances donc plus jamais je n’achèterai évidemment cette marque et je vous recommande de fuir car tous les avis sur ce site montre que leur pratique commerciale est systématiquement la même : refus de prendre les moteurs sous garantie, alibi bidon d’usage anormal, mépris total et plantage des clients (pisciniste et client final)

Invested in a wifi connected battery back up sump pump. Pentair decided they no longer wish to support this product so the disabled cloud functionality effectively neutering this device. Terrible support - they could've provided options to integrate with home assistant.
2 x New Pentair Silent Flo pool pumps died within 2 days of each other. Absolute rubbish.
Our New Pentair Silent Flo pool pump lasted just over a year and broke down 2 days before Christmas. No-one was available to fix it at Christmas so we had to buy a whole new pump for $700. Installed it and it lasted 2 days. Absolute pieces of rubbish, your company should be ashamed of itself. We’ve had pool pumps before that lasted many, many years (never replaced even one before Pentair). These are supposed to last 5000 starts (well in excess of 10 years). Thanks Pentair for ruining our Christmas. We will never, ever buy a Pentair product again. Have to now wait til the 5th of January because they were off for Christmas (Hope you had a lovely Christmas because you ruined ours). Hope the repaired one lasts more than 2 days. You should refund us $700. Ho Ho Ho and Merry Grinchmas Pentair.
Bad design supported by miserable service
I have replaced at least 5 times the led founatin lights in the last 5 years. I have replaced 3 this year alone. When you call for service, the hold time is "180 minutes". This company doesn't deserve to be in business. pathetic engineering pathetic service
Poor Product and Awful Customer Service!
Automation product consistently not working. Tried to call customer service today. Automatic message said no more than 5 minute wait time. Ater 30 minutes on hold, I finally hung up. I will NEVER buy from Pentair again! Not happy with product and customer service is awful!

Wir haben seit über 12 Jahren einen Wartungsvertrag für unsere Pumpe. In den ersten Jahren hat die Firma auch immer die Wartung durchgeführt.
Seit 2023 führt die Firma aber trotz bestehenden Wartungsvertrag keine Wartungen mehr durch. Ich habe in den letzten zwei Monaten dreimal nachgefragt, wann denn wohl die nächste Wartung durchgeführt werden wird. Jedes mal wurde mir versprochen, dass der Monteur sich melden wird. Passiert ist aber ... NICHTS.

So the Pentair pool lights are hugely disappointing and really made poorly. Do not buy one.
The warranty is terrible. I had mine replaced once and then after using it approx 5 times it starting flickering. I don’t swim much at night, it was a bit before I tried turning it on again and now nothing. Something should last more than 5 times. Why are they still making a selling a product everyone is having problems with. The fail rate in a year or less Is 99% and they’re still using them. How can that be. Basically if you buy one you will probably be replacing it every year to year and a half and spending about $900 or more to do that.
So not right and they don’t care.

Wish I could put a zero rating. Pentair products and service are terrible. We have a relatively new pool and spa system that fail to work correctly most of the time. Customer service is non existent
