Connection issues but overall good experience
I have PawSquad included in my insurance plan and have tried to use the PawSquad app on a couple of occasions but had connection issues - one downside is being unable to switch between other apps whilst in the queue, for example.
However I stuck it out a couple of days ago when my dog went lame. I was connected within 5 minutes and had a video call with a vet, until unfortunately this was terminated for an unknown reason. I was unable to request to reconnect to the same vet which I feel there should be the option to do, so had to wait another 5-10 minutes to begin a new consultation with a different vet.
The vets seemed knowledgeable, comfortable in assessing via video call and provided thorough explanations and advice. Ultimately it saved me potentially hundreds of pounds in emergency vet fees, and I will use the service again.

I had to contact the online vet as I was worried about my puppy. The vet I spoke to was very thorough asking me relevant questions and via video checking my puppy out as a physical vet would have done.

Long wait, never got to talk to their vet
I waited for almost 30 minutes in the consultation room, but the vet never showed up—super frustrating. To make matters worse, I was accidentally disconnected the first time I tried to use this service. I then had to pay again, assuming I would be refunded for the first attempt. The only contact option I can find is a generic welcome@ email, which is not reassuring. Thankfully I got reimbursed fairly quickly.

Quick and reassuring cinsultation
The wait time to speak with a vet was very short and the advice given reassured me that what I was doing is correct, the vet also gave extra advice along with links to other potential services that could help in a more holistic approach rather than just medical model.
Utter useless service
Utter useless service. The vets can’t prescribe any medication and all they do is either say to wait and monitor symptoms or book an appointment with a real vet in person. So really don’t see the point of this service apart from being a bit of a sales gimmick.

Service never used for a year. Today we are glad we had it
I have had this service for almost a year with no need or use of this service at all whatsoever. However this evening I was at work and my dog was showing heavy signs of toxicity from something he ate whilst on a walk so my cousin with no previous knowledge of anything like this and with me being away, was able to use this service on my behalf with no issues. Before I was even able to call back to confirm my details, my cousin was already on a video call with a vet who had an emergency vet visit set up on the spot. We are very impressed and very grateful for the service. Thank you pawsquad
I was concerned that my 9 week old…
I was concerned that my 9 week old puppy had eaten tissue paper, he was sleeping for over 5 hours which was unusual. The vet at PawSquad assisted me on a video call, discussed the situation and advised me on what to do and reassured me. When he woke up everything was fine and I was panicking for nothing but valued the advice which was provided in a friendly and professional manner.
What a great service
I have used Pawsquad twice now and cannot fault their service. I was lucky to get the same vet both times and she was excellent. Great advice, thorough understanding and explanation and she genuinely seemed to care. Would highly recommend
Great service
Pawsquad was invaluable when my dog had his first seizure in the middle of the night. I was connected instantly to a vet and was asked many questions to assess the situation and had my mind put at ease. This was his first seizure and he had come round a quickly and their advice was monitor but no need to see a vet unless it happened again, I still called my vets in the morning who advised the same. Unfortunately he had another in the middle of the night the following evening, I did have to wait a few minutes to connect to anyone this time, I actually got the same vet who recognised us from the call the previous night. Again I found her advice
very helpful and comforting.
My parents also used the video call option with Pawsquad when they were looking after my dog a few years ago and lump came up, again they also found the service very useful.
It’s a great service to have access to. They also send you a report of the interaction so if you didn’t fully take on what was said it’s there in black and white.
7 month pup failed by this system
I rang out of hours PDSA and was told to join paw squad as my 7 month old puppy was VERY poorly I got sent a WhatsApp link and they made me upload videos of my dog was advised to starve him for 48 hours as he was being sick with a revolting smell,very disorientated ,could barley walk also had two mini seizures wich I showed them. The report was classed as non urgent no vet needed then 2days later my dog really started to deteriorate went through the paw squad again because I knew something was wrong sent them videos and then they told me it was an emergency and to get my dog there now once I got there the lady said my dogs stomach was very tense and they was gonna keep him in tonight for observation a hour later I got a call saying that my dogs gone really depressed and his heart rates slowing down and that he wasn’t good at all they decided to operate that morning. during the operation I got a call to say that my dog has crashed they revived him but told me the operation wasn’t going well and advised me that he should be put to sleep because his faeces was leaking into his stomach and that it would’ve been unfair and the dog and he would’ve died either way FROM THE FIRST ASSESMENT I CLEARY TOLD THEM THE SYMPTOMS FROM WHEN HE WAS BEING SICK WITH THE SMELL .. the veteran that operated on my dog was shocked by the first report and woudlve classed this as a emergency and to be brought in when I got in touch and that my dog could’ve been alive if I brought him when I first reported this .
ALWAYS GO WITH YOUR INSTINCTS AS WE KNOW OUR PETS BECAUSE OF THIS COMPANY MY 7 MONTH OLD PUPPY IS NOW DEAD . THIS APP IS USLESS . I would’ve brought my dog into the vets my self but they told me I would’ve been refused any sort of treatment and that I had to go through paw squad as a result of this we want to take this further so it doesn’t happen to any other pet owner.

An excellent service
I had a video call with one of the vets. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was called back after my initial contact. My vet was lovejy I did not feel rushed at all She saw my dog on the video and gave advice accordingly. To have this service 24/7 is fantastic. I will certainly be using it again
