Ich nutze intensiv und lange schon die Pro Version von Outdooractive, bin davon begeistert und immer wieder positiv überrascht über die Funktionen. Outdooractive hat mich schon oft auf "die Spur" gebracht und mich vor falschen Einschätzungen von Touren bewahrt. Insbesondere die Anzeige der Schwierigkeitsgrade ist im alpinen Gelände auch für Geübte eine hervorragende Begleitung.

Overall, I've honesty found Outdooractive incredibly useful for walk leading with my group, and I honestly wouldn't know what I'd do without it. Yes, the app's a bit clunky at times, especially if you're trying to plot a route, but I honestly find it a lot easier to plot a route on the website version on my laptop. Asides this minor issue, the app and website are both fantastic.

I really liked View Ranger but things change & Outdoor Active took over. We didn’t find too much different & as we use Outdoor Active both in Uk & also extensively in Europe. We hike with it & also cycle & find it invaluable. We have chosen to pay for Pro which suits us fine. The greatest advantage is the fact that whenever we get a problem or don’t understand, Mike Brocklehurst replies immediately & talks us through. That’s worth a fortune in these days of bots.

View Ranger was pretty good and for free, then this company showed up and ruined everything. app is slow and unreliable. bought a Pro membership just to realize you got a little or no benefits as they offer even higher price memberships for god knows what... currently a route planer doesn't work on my PC and everything is super slow.
update: just tried to report the problem on their website guess what, you cant even contact them non of the links seems to work ?? Nice service after you paid 25£ for a Pro membership

Outdoorkarten sehr ungenau-es werden z.T. Wege angezeigt, die es gar nicht gibt z.B. durch Felsen. Ständig kommen Warnungen, falls man mal 10m vom Weg abkommt. Fotos aus der App heraus werden z.B. kopfüber gespeichert, man kann auch immer nur 1 Foto machen und muss beim nächsten wieder von vorn anfangen.

As a former Viewranger user, which was brilliant, I've been generally happy with OA. It's great to have a record of all my walks, especially all the photos displaying on the track where they were taken.
Planning routes is generally OK, sometimes a little frustrating. Importing GPX files is easy, as well as searching for routes. A pro subscription has really helped me enjoy my walking but there are still a lot of features on the free version.

Noticed that there are 100’s of third party vendors paying for my data which I’m not receiving any reimbursement for. I stated I didn’t want any of this during setup but every time I use the site these vendors are given permission steal my data again, WITHOUT CONSENT! Try to delete the profile online and the button doesn’t work.

No "your trial is about to end"… Very bad practice! About the website/app: pretty poor software for both planning and navigation. All competitors are much better. Waste of money!

An sich bin ich mit der App zufrieden. Ich habe sie genutzt um mit meiner Smartwatch (Samsung) offline zu navigieren und aufzuzeichnen. Outdooractive war eine der einzigen Apps, die das konnte (außer man greift auf Garmin zurück).
Da Navigation und Aufzeichnen mit dem anstehenden App-Update nurnoch mit Handy möglich ist, ist die App ab jetzt nurnoch unnütz teuer. Das alleinstellungsmerkmal fällt für mich weg, also ist Outdooractive nurnoch teuer und keine Alternative mehr zur Kom-kurrenz.

I used to find it very easy to use the Outdooractive App on my phone to create and amend walking routes. But there have been some recent changes to the App which now make it difficult. For example, there are no intuitive or easy-to-find options to use straight lines instead of snapping to paths, no 'magnet' or 'undo' buttons directly on the screen any more. Important tool-bar options only become available via a tucked-away menu button which only appears after you have specified a 'destination' (even for a circular walk!). It's all just got over-complicated with too many bells and whistles.

Used to be fantastic. But they just kept meddling with it. Now it is unusable. How do you undo a plot point? At the moment you cant. You have to start all over again.

Viewranger was a brilliant app, then it changed to Outdooractive. Again, this app was fantastic, easily managing to plot new routes and track accurately. Over the last few months however, after a ridiculous update, the app is now unusable. To plan a route you have to select your start and end co-ordinates instead of tapping to route, whilst following a downloaded map over the weekend the route decided to disappear from my screen so i was running blind in the mountains. Shocking.

Ich nutze Outdooractive seit etwa zwei Monaten als Alternative zu Komoot und bin insgesamt zufrieden. Besonders das Tracking und die gleichzeitige Navigation laufen im Vergleich zu Komoot deutlich stabiler und zuverlässiger. Die App ist übersichtlich gestaltet und lässt sich auch in der kostenlosen Version gut nutzen – ein großer Pluspunkt.

Allerdings fehlt mir eine Funktion zum spontanen Umplanen der Route *während* der Navigation, ohne das aktive Tracking unterbrechen oder manuell anpassen zu müssen. Das wäre ein echtes Upgrade für die Nutzerfreundlichkeit. Positiv überrascht hat mich der GPX-Export der getrackten Routen, auch wenn der Zwang, eine externe App zum Speichern auszuwählen (statt direkt aufs Smartphone), etwas umständlich wirkt.

Sehr kompliziert finde ich und sehr teuer !!

Ich war mit outdooractive bis jetzt zufrieden so lange ich mit Win 10 und Android arbeite. Seit ich Win 11 habe, habe ich hier Probleme. alle Seiten der Welt sowie Komoot gehen auf nur outdooractive hat hier Probleme und das mit den gängigen Browser.

I am a professional mountain guide and my company uses a pro+ account for years. We wrote several mail to suggest improvements over the last years. The mails never have been answered to. It seems they have been ignored all along and directly thrown into the trash bin.

Besides that we paid hundreds of euros in subscription fees to run one of the most data intrusive and exploiting apps that sends data to basically any company that tries to collect data to map users profiles. It's a severe breach of trust.

This company ignores the principle of data minimization.

Surveillance capitalism is a form of exploitation that I can tolerate when the product is free. At least it's a choice and I pay with my data. It's not something I want to have in my paid account.

It's a miserable situation when an otherwise good and helpful product is behaving in such a disrespecting way. There's a right to privacy and data minimization should be the objective instead of data hoarding and selling.

Lo uso da più di un anno e mi ci sto trovando davvero molto bene, non capisco tutte queste recensioni da 1 stella che sono inutili.
L'app è super immediata, per registrare il percorso basta un click da telefono e parte immediatamente, inoltre non fa scaricare molto il telefono e quando la connessione scompare continua a registrare il percorso (ho un iphone).

Ho il piano Pro+ molto utile per chi è spesso a fare giri ovunque perchè ti da accesso a molte mappe diverse (anche se non hai il piano a pagamento c'è la mappa di OpenStreetmap che è ottima).

Ho voluto dare 4 stelle perchè secondo me ci sono delle migliorie da fare:

- i video in 3D quando la visuale ruota e, per esempio, io che cammino spesso in montagna ci sono le cime, il percorso viene nascosto dalla visuale che ruotando lo nasconde
- La mappa (per i piani a pagamento) di Outdoor Active mi mostra meno sentieri o addirittura sentieri diversi dalla mappa con il piano gratuito
- Il meteo lo vedo solo da pc, quiindi mentre mi pianifico il percorso mi è utile per l'altezza della neve etc; ma mentre cammino avrei bisogno di vedere se sta arrivando la pioggia.

Poi avendo il piano a pagamento, se si potesse aggiungere qualche dato in più sarebbe molto più completa.

In ogni caso miglior app per il trekking!

I have Outdoor Active Pro and think it is absolutely brilliant. I have just read some of these reviews and seen the rating as poor and think this is totally unjustifiable. The app is superb, it works every time and I use it when I hike all over the UK and when I holiday in Europe.
There is so much content and walks that people have done that are so easy to try. A great app, Thank you ViewRanger and Outdoor Active!

I bought a lot of “tiles” to cover the whole of Cumbria when this app was “viewranger”. I paid for these maps. Now I can’t use them offline - I’m being forced into paying for a subscription to access something I’ve already paid for? I’m not even sure if this is legal!?

Avoid - this company clearly doesn’t care about customers.

Zuverlässige Funktionen, die ich nutze, um immer wieder neue Wege zu finden. Nach Änderungen hat mir der Service super geholfen verschwunden geglaubte Features zu lokalisieren. Schnell, kompetent, freundlich.
