Sold my car to Motorama via Motorway. Turned up late, inspected the car, told me there were a series of issues including the exhaust was misfiring (had been replaced 3 months earlier) and tried to offer me £700 less than the initial bid. Took about 30 mins of constant bartering and the driver trying to guilt trip me into taking a lower price, insinuating if i wouldn’t accept their offer, he wouldn’t get paid. Also he constantly called me “darling” until my husband joined me. Eventually paid me the initial price we agreed on. Payment was pretty much instant however - so just be prepared for a bit of a battle.

Avoid!!

I cannot stress enough to avoid this dealership!!!!

Less than two weeks after collecting my car, a loud ticking sound developed from the engine. When I raised this with the dealership, they attempted to pass me off to the warranty provider. At this stage in the purchase, that is not acceptable — the dealer is responsible. After leaving the car with them for inspection, the ticking sound mysteriously disappeared.

I had my concerns about this and booked my car into a local garage for a health check. The independent inspection uncovered severe rot to both the offside and nearside sills. The technician advised the car was unsafe, structurally compromised, and should not have passed its most recent MOT (in his opinion). Had I been in a collision, the chassis may have collapsed due to the weak points.

I exercised my legal right to reject the car within 30 days under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Instead of processing this properly they insisted they had the right to inspect the vehicle before issuing a refund. Legally they cannot force a customer to comply with that as I had already provided a signed, dated report from an independent garage confirming the car was unsafe, not fit for purpose and unsatisfactory.

After continued chasing, he finally agreed to issue a refund, but only on the terms that I would sign a declaration that included; the wrong customer name (a GDPR breach), and a clause attempting to strip away my rights and silence me from leaving reviews or taking matters further.

Customers should never be coerced into signing away their rights under the 30 day right to reject in order to get a refund.

My advice if you’ve already bought from here and are facing problems:

Always get an independent inspection if you suspect something isn’t right.

Know your rights - under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you can reject a faulty or unsafe car within 30 days.

Don’t be pressured into signing documents that limit your legal protections or prevent you from speaking out.

Motorama sold me an unsafe car, mishandled the complaint, and tried to silence me. Please do your research before buying from them.

Motorama won the auction for my car on Motorway. They turned up, took the car for a test drive and everything was fine. They then tried to drive the price down by +£500 claiming an issue with the car - an issue that had already been fixed and that I had proof for. They still wanted more than £500 off and as I wouldn't budge they then gave Motorway a spurious reason for not completing the sale. I have made a complaint to Motorway and would recommend everyone avoid these cowboys

Sold car with fault

Sold car with fault, when I tried to challenge was told it was because of how I drive! Then told they checked and no fault. When got car back and took for second opinion the diagnostic report showed multiple faults. They have not got in touch to discuss even though I have emailed them. Having to go through the finance company’s complaints procedure and now am left waiting with no car meaning unable to get to work. Never purchase here again. Wish I could upload the diagnostic report to show how bad the report was!

Very misleading – avoid

I purchased a car advertised by Motorama, but when it came to paying, the invoice and payment details were issued by a completely different company, B & B Autos Ltd. Since then, both companies have been involved in correspondence about the vehicle and its faults, but neither will take proper responsibility.

It’s extremely confusing and feels deliberately misleading — advertising under one name, then invoicing and selling under another. From my experience, communication has been very poor, my emails and letters have been ignored, and the problems with the vehicle remain unresolved.

After looking on here, I can see I’m not the only person who has had this kind of experience. Consumers deserve to know exactly who they’re buying from and to be treated fairly. Sadly, that has not been the case here. I am now in the process of taking them or B & B Autos Ltd to court!

Initial price was 1300£ but after inspecting the car the price magically dropped to 900£.
Unfortunately had to accept because of personal problems.
The car had no service history and few problems on MOT. Apparently they remade the MOT disappearing all of his problems.
Magically after collection the car has been put on their page for sale at 3000£,which is 3 times the price bought from me.RIDICULOUS.
DONT BUY FROM THEM

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs - both sales and after sales repairs. Vehicle sold to us allegedly in working condition with assurance than any issues identified after sale would be swiftly repaired. After trading in our vehicle and purchasing the car then found two windows not working and air conditioning not functioning. This was also during a nationally declared heat wave. We are now two and half weeks into endless chasing to have the car repaired, which includes going into our second weekend with a young family without a vehicle. Continuous calls and emails unanswered, then when we do get the phone answered on the 10th plus attempt nobody can commit to a repair date. Submitting our formal complaint to the ombudsman and strongly advise others to avoid.

Completely unethical

These guys won my car I was selling through motorway in an auction. I found this out by getting a WhatsApp from a random mobile number saying “I won your car can pick it up tomorrow” before I even had communication from motorway my docs had been reviewed and accepted. They came early in the morning and plugged in their diagnostics, came to get my to show me the non existent “smoke” coming out of the engine and asked if there was anything wrong with the turbo (there wasn’t and there was no smoke), so they said it was a minute ago and we took a video. They then said there was a leak because there was mild condensation on top of the engine (makes no sense) and then that an injector would need replacing and by the time they’ve done all that it’s 2k worth of work. I told them not to take it if they’re going to mess me around and after they left I’ve seen I now have a red warning light and service now notification on the dash. I didn’t dare move the car, got another mechanic round the following day who thoroughly inspected and said there’s not a thing wrong with the car. Complete waste of time and will be escalating their lack of professionalism and ethics further.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience, we brought a car there at the Welwyn Garden City branch. Within the first 2 days of having the car, the warning engine light came on took it back and they said it was a software update that they didn’t do, with given is no proof. We took the car back, as we was unaware of there poor reputation and it happened again within 2 days, engine warning light. We couldn’t take it anymore so we requested our money and after a lot of attempting on their side for us to keep the car, promised a lot of things. We said no, upon waiting for our money they re listed the car for sale and I took us to go there asking where our money was for us to get the refund, with the car sitting there. Avoid this place and go to a proper dealership. Not to be trusted.

Do not purchase from this company

Brought a car end of June from branch welylin garden city branch service when I went to collect the car was horrendous car wasn’t clean . Half way home warning light came on then time I got home engine warning light come on once I got home I had to turn around and go all way back ,checked paper work when I got home and service book hadn’t been signed they said didn’t have a stamp when I called but I had to go back following wk as pressure light was on again. And air on stopped working so had to go back again to be told they didn’t have a machine but to come back following wk and go to another garage of someone they knew . Got home after them regassing being down stoped working . I have had nothing but trouble since I purchased car has been back 5 times had nothing but problems the service I from the Aftersales team at the beginning was fine but the last time I reported issues and they told me take to local garage get them to quote for checking car over the garage found head gasket failed , back washer didn’t spray and was blocked Coolant leaking , air on unit had hole in it when called the quote was rejected the garage wanted car back to carry out the repairs took them 4 days to drop me a car off after had to pay out for taxis etc and the day they was collecting mine kept changing and 7 days in total to even collect mine to go for repair the communication has shocking until I complained to garage then I was getting a few updates from Reece who was very pleasant and couldn’t apologise enough. When my car was ready they was meant to drop mine off but they said couldn’t drop it for 2wks they only put £10 in as compensation like that even covered what money I have lost . Wouldn’t ever buy a car from this garage again absolutely shocking clearly cars don’t get checked over and serviced etc before cars being sold on for the fact they knew I had a baby and to sell this car in such a awful state underneath the bonnet etc outside looked amazing so don’t be fooled when seeing a car at the show room. For the amount of money I have spent purchasing this car it’s shocking for the overall service . Even the loan car was absolutely disgusting no petrol in it , bonnet and roof had some kinda paint stripper over it .taking this further to trading standards

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM FULL STOP!

I would have given them 0 stars if I could. They sold me an estate car of which I needed to go to Spain to take a few bits and pieces to. I chased them after 4 weeks for the log book of which the had lost and didn't inform me and hadn't sent. After chasing they sent another form away so I could get on but this was too late for me to use it as it takes 4 weeks and you can't drive in france without one. I had to hire a van at a cost of £2500 and change my ferry ticket at another £250. Also in the 1st month I had to get a new rear light as it was water damaged so kept shorting the car, new rain light sensor, new windscreen washer pipes and jets and front upper, lower ball joints at the front right, under engine guard and jack point. It had obviously been in some sort accident where it had driven over something. On calling them regarding all the above I got the comment, you've got 3 months warranty? My comment was you shouldn't be selling a car with all that wrong. I also mentioned the van rental and extra cost to my tickets and I was told that they would pass it over to 'my director' who obviously wasn't available, but he would call back. 4 weeks later I am still waiting for the call unsurprisingly. Aftercare is a joke and they are liars!!! DO NOT BUY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Should give a 1 star. However the return service was easy and no hassle so I will be slightly fair here. However a very dissapointing experience. Got missold an Audi A3 and the director of the company told me that the debadged grill is an Audi A3 grill, I trusted in his advice as the service seemed legit, unfortunately he had no paperwork for modifications made either, so I later took this to an Audi garage to have the car inspected and rebadged and they told me the grill is not an Audi Grill and the bumper is also not an Audi. I think this is enough for you to know avoid this garage. Save your time and money and go somewhere more legit.

Would not recommend dealing with this garage

This is not fake review and I don't usually leave one stars but my head line is - don't deal with this company. I was interested in buying a car from this garage and I asked Jay to hold on to it for two days for my viewing to which I was asked by him to pay a deposit of £250. Jay said once transaction is complete he will send me an invoice (as a first time buyer I trusted him and did send the money, yes I know I should have asked for the invoice first now.) Instead of invoice he sends me a contract to sign by agreeing to pay the full amount for the car which doesn't make sense and feels like a scam because we had conversation before that I will come to garage and have a look at the car first and we could negotiate the price. I've contacted him the same day saying that I want to cancel this transaction and asked for the deposit back to which I was ignored. But on a bright side I've probably saved myself a lot of headache judging by the rest of reviews for this company, take my advice on board and don't deal with these people.

SELLING UNROAD WORTHY VEHICLE THAT THEY WILL REFUSE TO HOLD THERE HANDS UP FOR

Can not put into words how u helpfully and careless this dealer are. I brought a 13 plate bmw 1 series off of them and within the 24 hours the car broke down which could have been a mistake but on a closer look of the car by a bmw garage there was over 14 issues with the car including severe corrosion on the sub frame, leaking shock, hole in the radiator ( this was the reason for breaking down) and 80%worn discs and pads when an mot and full service was supposedly done 6 days before I collected the car. This is disgusting they let me drive the car. The boss of the dealer was so rude and the tried to get me to pay for collection of the the car for £300 luckily the finance company made them collect the car which took them 3 weeks to do after I broke down and it's been a further 2 months when they have given the money. They used loads of excuses for the delay and the dealer was so rude and told me I was lying about the car, that I broke it, and also told me I had to sign a declaration of silence about the car I was told by the finance company not to sign it so I didn't .
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS DEALER

Faultless service

When my old car finally gave up the ghost, my local garage recommended that I dispose of it via Brighton Motorama. They said how much I should expect to be paid and that was exactly what I was offered when I `phoned. Brighton Motorama picked the car up on the day they said they would and someone `phoned me at the time promised that afternoon to confirm that the money had been transferred to my account. Both the people I dealt with were friendly, helpful and efficient. I could not be more satisfied with the experience.
