As a home owner and cat slave, I have used MindMyHouse for donkey's years and always had great experiences. The site owners are always very responsive and friendly. And there is no extortionate fee like with some more commercial sites.

Very easy to use website. Very competitive rates. Interesting housesits from around the world delivered daily to my inbox. Highly recommend.

I have been a member for almost 20 years. During that time we had some great housesitters. Some have become dear friends and we are still in contact. The site is very informative. Of course you have to do your additional research before you invite people to your house. I would definitively recommend Mindmyhouse to other house owners.

I am a house sitter that has used Mindmyhouse for the last 18 years. I have completed house/pet sits for 42 different home owners (all of the were good or great, some home owners have asked me back for a second, third and even forth time). I started by doing one or two house sits per year to get the experience and averaged three house sits through the years. I completed five house sits in 2024 and four this year (2025). Mindmyhouse always seems to come through for me. I continue to find interesting locations in the US. This year while house sitting in Ventura, CA I met neighbors of the home owners who were looking for a replacement house sitter as theirs had cancelled. I told them about MMH and within a week they had their replacement. I love this site.

The website feels very outdated and hard to navigate. The search is unclear, the filters are limited, and the whole layout looks like it hasn’t been updated in years. Listings are text-heavy and difficult to read, and even the contact process with the homeowner isn’t intuitive. Overall, it’s an old-school experience that makes using the site frustrating.

I would not trust this site. I had a very dysfunctional sitter at my home. Caused damage, broke laws, hosted a dinner party at my home-unauthorized amongst many other issues. Mindmyhouse "suspended" the sitters account-not banned-after my complaint against the sitter. The sitter was a complete mess on my sit and ultimately a liability to the community. They sounded "polite" when refunding my membership fee, but what they actually did was ban ME-the victim. Even if they did ban the sitter, their practices are highly suspect. They essentially kicked me off the site so I cannot fact check their claims of "suspending" or "banning" the unstable sitter. There is no vetting on their part, and it seems like they do not care if a mentally unstable person, who broke many laws,lists themselves to be a sitter on the site. No loyalty to homeowners. Buyer be warned.

This site is cheap to join because it has only around a hundred or so sits at any time and many thousands of sitters. It is trying to compete with the big boys on a small budget, but doesn't have a hope in hell as it's not trustworthy.

What people don't realise is that all reviews have to be approved by the person being reviewed. I organised a sitter months in advance and got taken into hospital for emergency surgery the day before her arrival. She cancelled as soon as I told her this, citing a migraine. I wrote a factual review, which she never approved and support would not publish it, saying her reason for not turning up was perfectly valid. She let me down in the worst way possible when I was in a dire situation, with no comeback whatsoever! So why is there a reliability rating for homeowner's (even though it's not based on any really important criteria) and not one for sitters? The answer is that sitters are the main source of revenue for the business.

You cannot trust Mindmyhouse.com as the information provided is incomplete, biased and based upon nonsensical criteria.

I complained about being labelled a 30% reliable homeowner. I found this description offensive, because the judgement was purely based on my replies to applications. I had posted many sits and had very good reviews with previous sitters returning. Their response was to expel me with the rationale that sitters 'get upset' if they don't receive an immediate reply.

If your sit is popular, loads of people apply and the majority of them are people looking for free accommodation, rather than animal lovers who want to travel. Weeding people out takes time and I relied on personal references and those from other sites to make decisions, knowing first hand how biased Mindmyhouse.com reviews were.

My ads always said I would reply when dates were confirmed. When they were confirmed I would reply immediately.

Expelling people like me who provide desirable sits in sunny climates with a sea view near the beach is crazy. Without sits to attract payment from sitters they have no business. Commercial suicide if you ask me!

Updated: I've been using this platform as a homeowner for years. I've always been very happy and have had some amazing pet sitters over the years. It's cheap, fast and a lot of sitters available.

I had one BAD sitter (Angelina Rabia) (no reviews), and MMH tried to help as much as they could, since they're a tiny organisation replies took quite some time. They did close their account, but couldn't take further actions. There is no real process in place when there are damages etc and they usually have a non interference policy.

The concept itself is really great, but the customer service is absolutely terrible. Luckily, I had printed my papers from the house exchange and had a phone number, because the company has not responded to me for three weeks.

I paid twice, but they only refunded me once, and they are convinced that I can log in — which is not the case. I cannot reply to emails, and I can only access the platform if I pay again. Even after asking my bank for a refund, a week later there is still no communication from the company.

This is not how you treat people. Imagine if I were arranging a petsitting exchange: I wouldn’t be able to log in, the other person would have no idea what was happening, there would be no petsitter, and I would end up in another place without a home.

Replay on the reaction: we didnt had an email conversation i asked an member to contact you, and I had a petsitter and homesitter acount. And it still didnt work.

So if i buy it again now it will work?
Why dont you just email me or call, the conversation will be so mutch easier.

all these companies expect us to sit for free, and enriched themselves with the fees they charge to sitters, they hold no responsabilies, WE do !
we have pet sitter insurance and travel expenses to pay for, plus these companies charge us fees to subcribed to their website, we also have rental or morgages to pay for, and all daily life expenses.
For people who expect this service for free, we have plenty of homeless people who would be happy to have a roof ! We don't need your roof, we have one ! And if you hire people who do this to have a free roof during their vacation, then your pet may be left home alone all day, while they are visiting sites or on the beach ! Also if you find you house emptied of all furnitures, or your pet lost or dead when you get back, don't be surprise, this has happened to home owners who wanted a cheap house and pet sitter ! house and pet sitting is a huge responsiblity, you are not only paying for us to care for your animals, it's everything you love that you put in our hands so yes, responsability and having peace of mind has a cost! I find outrageous that without a warning they shut my account just because I explain to pet owners why this precious service should not be done for free !

Most horrible website I have ever used. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I signed up as a house sitter and stayed on the platform for about three months and it was thousands of sitters and less than 100 jobs. I never received a house sit. It was horrible! I asked for a refund but they closed my account and didn't give me one! I wouldn't recommend that house sitting platform to anyone. It is a scam.

I was an avid user and supporter of mymindhouse for 3 years. I had the fortune of finding nice sitters to look after my cats and my house. However, the last time I got a terrible cat sitter who abandoned my cats halfway through the sit and didn’t even bother to phone me to let me know, just sent me a WhatsApp message saying she had already left. Of course, I left her a bad review explaining what had happened to warn other home owners. But to my surprise, my review didn’t show on her profile. I contacted Support to ask why and they explained that users can decide whether they want to show or hide their reviews. Meaning ALL house and housesitter reviews are unsurprisingly positive- even though it’s a lie. I felt betrayed and unsafe. Users have the right to make informed decisions when so much is at stake. This is a stranger sleeping in your bed looking after your beloved animals. Of course you want to know if they ever got bad reviews and why. I have stopped using their service. I hope trustedhousesitters and others don’t allow users to censor honest reviews for everyone’s sake.

I have used Mindmyhouse to find house sitters for 10 years now in all this time I have connected with wonderful people some of whom have become friends. I have never had a problem with any of the sitters and they have all looked after my home and animals very well. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone, hosts and sitters alike.

Ich nutze MindmyHouse seit 2018 und hatte schon einige Sitter von dieser Plattform für meine Katzen. Ich würde nie enttäuscht, alle Sitter, die hier waren, haben sich gut um meine Katzen gekümmert und größtenteils alle Anweisungen gut befolgt. Was manchmal ein Problem darstellt, ist die richtige Pflege von Pflanzen, das hat nicht immer so gut geklappt. Aber die Wohnung wurde fast immer sauber hinterlassen und den Katzen ist es immer gut gegangen.
Ich würde jederzeit wieder Sitter von dieser Plattform zu mir einladen 😊

I have been using Mind My House since 2016 to have house sitters coming to take care of my pets and my home. I have actually made some wonderful friends through this site, after they have taken care of our place. I would recommend this site to anyone who is looking for a credible and responsible person or couple to look after your house. I have not had any problems from any of my house sitters. They often go above and beyond my expectations!

Being using MindMyHouse, for at least 6 years, and they have never let us down. Also the sitters in every case, worked well for us and the dogs. Keep up the good work MindMyHouse.

I’ve been using MindMyHouse for several years now and have had nothing but fantastic experiences. The platform is user-friendly, way more affordable than others out there, and offers great technical support when requested.

It is true that it doesn't have as many listings as some other sites, the upside is there’s also less competition for house sitters! Personally, I’ve never felt the need to use another platform because I always find plenty of great opportunities here.

It took me a little while to land my first house sit, but once I got that first gig and a review, everything became much easier. Now, I’ve been consistently house sitting through MindMyHouse for years.

We have been home owning members for 11 years and haven’t had a bad experience. Our home and animals have been well cared for and we have met some lovely people from around the World. The website is easy to use and attracts serious- minded people as house sitters.
Just be sure to check out the folks you are considering. We always have several internet meetings with potential sitters so that we can all raise and resolve things well in advance. We also stay in touch during the time we’re away from home.
