Canceled my account due to budget…

Canceled my account due to budget reasons and I try to remake my account i fill everything out and then they cancelled my account setup and for that reason I'd saggiest you just run your own home labs without using linode

Hates money and customers

I'd love to not have to rent Amazon web services, but Linode just hates money and new customers. Literally impossible to create an account there.
The 'blindfolded shotgun' method on cancelling sign ups is not a standardized security measure, if you didn't know, Linode.

Cost Rising, Slow Support Times

While linode is a alright host, it has its issues and a lot of them. They used to offer MongoDB Hosting, however stopped after no update to the community. Costs have also risen, while other competitors have lower costs. Support is also very slow, and it takes days for support to finally reach out.

Not accepting people on the platform

After 3 days of trying to get an account, contacted support and haven't gotten an answer and every time being flagged for fraudulent behavior I am done, I´m not wasting more time on this.

My recent experience

I just want to report my recent negative experience with them. The company is now called Akamai. So I wanted to subscribe and try their services to host my website. After I submitted all the required information, my credit card details, address, telephone number etc I get a screen message saying thank you, we are reviewing your application. Eh? Ok! After few minutes, I get an email with obj "Signup Cancellation". I was simply rejected. They give me a link if I want to appeal the decision, and they're saying that, eventually, you'll hear back from us. I haven't. Well, if this people is capable of similar weird behaviors at the underwriting stage, I can imagine what might happen if one day you have an issue during your normal account activity. Better stay away from them. PS: I wasn't aware of their Trustpilot score, otherwise I would have not given it a try.

Support at Akamai/Linode is worthless now.

I've been a linode user for my various websites, test servers and backups for about 5 years. It was really a good move from previous vendors. However, since Akamai merged, support has disappeared. I can do better myself. For example, hotmail recently unleashed a barrage of unwarranted IP blocks, one of which hit the linode server I use as a dedicated website. There is no spam registered for any of the IPs in the range. Of course, reaching MS for the issue replies with a canned response. Linode simply parrots the same canned response and does nothing for its users. It simply lets Microsoft block IPs without question, without action, without any sense of urgency to the business or commerce effects. Linode/Akamai does not seem to be interested in fixing or finding out why or approaching a higher tier level of support. In fact, when I asked for copies of actions taken, Linode simply displayed the same canned email forms I used with MS. Linode/Akamai has no ability to solve a simple problem like this so my recommendation is to stay away, find a provider that is big enough to at least talk to the postmasters of companies blocking their own services. When they can't do that, they have no value and your business will suffer when support can't fix basic things like a unsubstantiated block. Anyone can sit around collecting monthly subscriptions but users expect more from a Linode/Akamai combo. Shame on Akamia/Linode support.

1+ Years Experience

Wrote a review back in March about my rough experience with their infrastructure.

Shocker, an email arrived to me this week informing me that they're discontinuing the sale of their database products. We still keep ours but will no longer sell their lineup since they do not believe in the infrastructure. This is the right move but they should have done this way sooner and helped us out with failing databases. It felt like every month I would get an email informing me of a failed cluster.

As I said before Akamai with the price increase and acquisition I would be leaving and I have finally done it. Vultr took my feedback and that's where I will take my database business since they seem to care more about their customer's concerns.

I hope you guys get your stuff together and wish you guys the best. I may consider returning in the future but I am very happy with my current provider.

Happy Linode user since 2014

I started using Linode in 2014 and am a happy customer to this day. They run about 20 of my servers, hosting my services for a few hundred thousand users. Uptime and support are great. In fact, I decided to write this because I had a very good support experience (fast response with great information) just yesterday. Their object storage is useful, but it could be a little faster. Finally, I think their prices are very competitive. To me, for 9.5 years and counting, they are an excellent provider.

Not serious

Not serious. I used their website email to contact them (aug 22) about a serious copyright infringement. A website has stolen my posts and is blatantly profiting off of them with display ads. Meanwhile Linode is hosting them and has blatantly ignored my emails. I sent them all the information. Every day they are profiting more and Linode is just radio silence and has done nothing. Where are the ethical concerns? Follow up sent 2 weeks later absolutely nothing. I have never seen anything like this.
*Update: I have re-sent according to information provided below. It's a shame you never followed up earlier a month ago and users now have to resort to adding a public review to request assistance. I look forward to seeing how serious you are dealing with the copyright complaint.

Once the report is received, it is escalated to our Trust and Safety team for investigation. From there, they will require some additional information regarding your complaint, such as identifying the copyrighted work, the infringing material that should be removed, and so on. Once they've received the required information, they are able to take action and report this copyrighted content to the respondent.

Good company and quality service.

At first there were problems with registering an account, but they helped me. They answered on trustpilot and I contacted them. The account has been confirmed.
VPS protection is good.

Reliable, Scalable Hosting with great customer service

While my relationship with Linode was short, I must commend them for providing an excellent and reliable service for hosting various games and services. One of the standout aspects of their service is their reliability, which translates to great uptime for my hosted games and services. I never had to worry about frequent downtime or interruptions, allowing for a truly seamless experience.

Another positive aspect worth mentioning is the scalability of Linode's infrastructure. As a growing business I appreciated the fact that there was always room to expand to even more powerful hardware or roll out additional nodes as needed. This flexibility gave me the peace of mind that my hosting needs could be easily accommodated in the future without any major disruptions.

In terms of server management, Linode made it incredibly easy to deploy new servers or upgrade existing ones with minimal downtime. Their user-friendly interface and intuitive control panel streamlined the process, allowing me to quickly set up new servers as per my requirements. This agility was particularly beneficial when I needed to scale up resources or accommodate sudden spikes in traffic. I never had to worry about extended periods of downtime during these upgrades, which was a significant advantage for my business.

During my interaction with Linode, I had the opportunity to engage with both their sales and support teams. I found their sales representatives to be helpful and friendly, although there were instances where they seemed slightly out of touch with the capabilities of the current platform. Ultimately it turned out I would need to find a different host for the specific features I required for my organization.

Linode offers a wide range of VPS solutions that cater to the needs of many users at various price points. I was pleasantly surprised to find that even their 'Low Tier' servers were equipped with modern and performant CPUs. This level of performance exceeded my expectations and showcased the quality of their infrastructure. It's worth noting that while Linode excels in cloud server offerings, they currently do not provide bare metal servers as part of the Akamai/Linode infrastructure (assuming Akamai is the new brand moving forward, I’m not certain of the details of that transition).

Lastly, I would like to highlight the exceptional support provided by Linode's team. The support staff demonstrated a high level of knowledge and professionalism, and I always received prompt responses to my queries or issues. This level of support instilled confidence in me as a customer, knowing that I could rely on their expertise whenever I encountered any challenges.

TLDR:
Linode offers excellent and reliable hosting services for games and other applications. They have great uptime and scalability, making it easy to expand as needed. Deploying and managing servers is simple with their user-friendly interface. The sales team is helpful but may lack knowledge about certain features, so it's important to ensure their current offerings meet your specific requirements. Linode's VPS solutions provide high-performance CPUs even in their low-tier servers. They excel in cloud server offerings but currently do not provide bare metal servers.
