Aimed at under 12s but my 9yr old found the rides limited and not too entertaining. It's not clear why adults have to pay full entry price when there arent any specific adult attractions. Queuing w... Zobacz więcej

Great Park for younger kids. Not much queuing. Great value,(take a picnic). Friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely go again.

very average
very average. my 4 year old had a great day out as a fair few rides for him. However it feels like a rather stretched out fair ground these days rather than a "theme park", very basic rides and a few was out of service too. My 14 year old was disappointed as realistically only 1 ride she could enjoy. Feel adults shouldn't need to pay or certainly have a reduced price as nothing really there for adults to go on. Food average and expensive which i guess is to be expected at this type of place. But overall wasn't a bad day out, place was clean and staff where nice, just feels the place has down downhill as far as a "theme park" is concerned from the days i remember. Would be hesitant to come back unless something changes.
Had a great day
Had a great day, visited last year and awesome also. Friendly staff, good price and we had a fun time
Very disappointed
Very disappointed. Was looking forward for my son. He could barely get on anything (he's 5) it's supposed to be more aimed at the kids yet it was very limited. The food is atrocious with ridiculous prices. The staff were welcoming. Spent near enough £200 on tickets and getting here. Very unsatisfied
Worsened over the years
Have been visiting LWV over the last few years, had visited today for their Frightwater Valley Halloween event.
My children are 10 and 12.
Their favourite rides over the years have been The Eagles Claw: no longer there, Bumper Cars: no longer there, and the climbing nets: no longer there. A couple of the other rides they have liked in the past were also closed and not working.
The actors for the Halloween event were good, can't fault them, the removal of the bumper cars and eagles claw are a huge loss to the park, there was not much rides for older children this year, only the swings were adequate at best.
Sadly, I don't think we will be returning, this park is definitely now aimed at younger children, I'd aim for 8 yo and younger, as no rides are really suitable for over 8s in my opinion and having removed the main rides they liked, they haven't been replaced with anything exciting.
Can't see why they'd rid the 3 best attractions for older children and not replaced them with anything decent, shame really as this park was our go to choice over the years.
Party of 9 we all had the best day
Party of 9 we all had the best day, we come every year . We found the park great ,very clean and all staff lovely . The foam party at the end was great . Food a little bit on the expensive side . Paid £2 for a bottle of water .
Amazing place
Visited the weekend 14/6/25
With 3 children aged from 11 to 1 and we had the best day!
Lots to do and staff were second to none! Park was clean and tidy and well facilitated. After seeing some not so positive reviews I was not so excited to visit but was pleasantly surprised at how well our day went.
One thing that really did stand out was the fact the managing director was walking around the park all day interacting with guests. This was a really personal touch and not something that usually happens at places like this as they’re usually only interested in making money. It seemed he was genuinely interested in making smiles and this was definitely working.
We will 100% be regular visitors based on this experience and look forward to coming back again real soon!
God awful- tacky fairground rides
We went for Father’s Day & we won’t be going again. So out dated, lots of attractions advertised not in service. Toilets the same as they were 30 years ago & filthy. Food extortionate & nasty. If your child is under 90cm it’s pointless. Staff were students & all very uninterested- I’d hate to think there was an emergency of any kind. How this place is even still open is beyond me. Much nicer places for a day out!
Electricity issues/closed park
After driving nearly 2 hours to get to the park, we were informed that the “electricity” was not working within parts of the park and therefore certain rides, shops and activities would not be available. As a result, I was only able to go on 2 activities which were included in the £22 day ticket I purchased for each member of my party. As many rides were not operating I then spent a further £3 per person to play mini golf within the dinosaur area of the park as this was one of the only attractions still available.
I believe that a social media post or an email addressing the electric issues would have been helpful as we were not informed at all. The staff were also unhelpful and did not give any feedback or advice on the matter.
The park absolutely waste of time
The park absolutely waste of time , light water valley needs a huge revamping ,the rides are tired 😫 & not worth going to customer service is a joke ,
Amazing day out
We visited yesterday 22nd August and had an absolutely amazing day. The new ride was closed but that didn't spoil our fun as all other rides on all staff members were friendly and understanding the park was clean and definitely will be back
Let me start by saying we've been to…
Let me start by saying we've been to lightwater valley many times and never had a problem but we visited on monday the 19th with our 2 grandchildren received a email on day to say check which rides are on so did so and every ride was open on that day ...kids had been so exited to go on new ride which is there pulling point for this season so arrived whent into park and new ride had been closed from weekend whent to there next favourite ride closed along with 2 other rides so whent to office to complain not bothered at all to be told there is a sign on wall but only after you have paid the sign is that small blink and you would not see it .they are misleading there customers by lying online the sign should be before you pay so you can make a choice .then taking peoples reviews and complaints of Facebook and have the common curtesy to reply to my emails either ...dont waste your money
So disappointed the tree top nets have…
So disappointed the tree top nets have been removed. Have 5 grandchildren and have in the past 6 years brought them annually in different groups. Age from 1-10. I won’t bring them again as their favourite attraction has been removed. Will stick to the web in York which is closer as now Lightwater Valley isn’t worth the trip to Ripon.
Toilets filthy floors full of used sanitary towels in men's toilets
Toilets where filthy people drinking alcohol half rides here missing cues a mile long wasn't made aware when booking on line that you need nimbus card to be a carer so we had to buy another ticket even though we had proof on us £15.00 for extra ticket £2.95 for cup of coffee £2.20 for can of coke

I have been going to LWV since I was a little girl. Now it’s one of our favourite places to go as a family with my children. They put so much effort into all of their displays and although it’s now aimed at a slightly younger age group it’s still a firm favourite day out. The staff are friendly, helpful, and kind. Being a wheelchair user it’s very accessible if I had to say anything negative is that they don’t have a disability wristband access kind of think like other theme parks I’ve been to and a way to let disabled people ride (I usually go on the rides via the exit point so I can get right up to the ride and get on meaning I still get have enjoy the rides with my children especially the bigger rides more so). That isn’t a biggie though because we still manage to have a good day regardless.
We visited yesterday for Fright water…
We visited yesterday for Fright water Valley, 7 of us in total, from the age of 53 ( that’s me) down to age 2. We were not disappointed, we had an amazing day and enjoyed every bit!
There was something for all ages, we let the teens go off to do their own thing and they said it was a great, interacting with the various spooky characters, one in Particular stood out for all our party (who I now know) Sadko, from the film the ring I believe. She played the part with energy and put a lot of passion into it, she was amazing with my eldest granddaughter, even gave her a hug when we were leaving. So much to do for all ages, the decorations were fabulous. From giant pumpkins to skeletons and spiders. We would highly recommend a visit this half term. We will definitely return next year.
Happy Grandma = Happy kids
Do not waste your money
Do not waste your money. If you have children under 8 or so and you csn get cheap tickets then fair enough.
For teenagers and adults it's a wate of time. Horrendous queues when it's warm also don't help.
Went with a friend and two teenagers
Went with a friend and two teenagers, the waltzer guy refused to spin the car due to health and safety so we just went round in a circle confused as to what the thrill was supposed to be, the ultimate is gone they all are gone, only gypsy fairground attractions remain and tiny kids rides that bore even the children, the food is a joke, the place is ruined, whoever decided to demolish the good rides and replace with cheap kids fairground rides etc should be blamed for the death of the park, the rebrand is just a money saving exercise to replace maintenance heavy thrill rides with sedate inexpensive plastic crap
Misleading pricing
Summer special advertised as £20 per person on the gate, but in fact was £22.50. £20 is only if you book in advance.
Great Trip with Amazing Staff
Great Trip with Amazing Staff
I Visited LWV Yesterday with my Son and his Friend. The Young Boy working there -
(Harry) (who we encountered on the Tree Top Ride) was fantastic - It was so refreshing to see a Teenegaer who had such a positive attitude - He was fantastic with The kids and just an all round delight - A real Credit to you. Will be back again soon.
