NEGATIVE One Star Review - Kroger has great stores and a NIGHTMARISH pricing policy! They are scammy in their pricing policies. They turn grocery shopping into a CIRCUS. Games designed to trick you. This is not how to run a grocery store! The customers hate it, and the Kroger employees hate it, too. Why would any grocery shopper expose themselves to pricing tricks and scams? No one wins at Kroger. Everyone loses. Because of an insane and crooked "Marketing Director".

I try and not go to this store due to how bad the customer service is. I stopped today to return some bottles. The 1st machine was broken and a family was using the machines in the middle. I went to the other end and started to return bottles. Of course it stopped saying it was full. An employee looked over at me and I pointed to the machine to indicate it stopped. He, in a very sarcastic tone and look said "I see it". He then went on with doing other things by the door and ignored me. I went to the service desk and that employee was on the phone with another employee. She reached out to get the slip thinking that is all I wanted and said I need something else as well. I explained what happened and she said we will have to look into it. If this was an isolated issue, I wouldn't have been as upset, but being in my 70s, I felt so disrespected, again, at this store. I reported it to the Executive office, but in the past, nothing seems to change at this store. Management seems to change often and the issues continue. I wrote back to the executive offices and said to just drop it as I doubt anything will change the way this store allows employees to be so disrespectful.

Not sure what happened to this place but the quality has really gone downhill. Produce section is consistently disappointing - wilted lettuce, overripe fruit, and nobody restocking. For a store this busy you'd expect better.
Self-checkout machines break down constantly and there's rarely anyone around to help fix them. The one staff member nearby was on their phone the whole time. Long lines, understaffed, and the parking lot is a whole other nightmare on weekends.
Prices keep going up but the experience keeps getting worse. Switched to Publix and haven't looked back.
Don't buy the big oranges
Don't buy the big oranges. They are $8.99 a bag and they look delicious but they are all dry inside. That's a lot to pay for oranges anyway and then have them all dry inside is sad. They should have quality control there but obviously they don't. What a shame. 6/1/26
I bought some Kroger frozen bananas…
I bought some Kroger frozen bananas that were black when they thawed out. I bought some fresh grapes, and within 2 days, they had mold on them. Kroger's on Becthle Av. in Springfield, Ohio.
Buyer beware
Placed a pick up order, hold for the amount was placed. On pick up I was again charged on my credit card for the amount of order. Now a week later, still have a double charge on my credit card for one order. Called the local store have to call the company. After going through a multitude of questions finally got a real person. But he couldn’t do anything to remove the extra charge. Sounds like fraud. Buyer beware. Will not be shopping with krogers again. Meijer’s will get my business.

Horrible. When ordering from Ralph's online you have to have a back up method so they can make sure they get paid. Anytime I order from the meat department, I always chat with the shopper to make sure the meat is good. Well this last time the instacart shopper decided to buy a bogo on the chicken however I only wanted chicken thighs and chicken breast and she decides to buy another pack of chicken thighs and chicken breast and tells me through the messages "I got a good deal for you on the chicken and I said okay" not knowing she did the bogo twice. well once everything was delivered Ralph's/Kroger decides to go charge my visa 2 days later. I called them up 5 times and they said, nope! No refund so i call Instacart and they are supposed to refund me. All these delivery apps need to train their drivers better or something because adding extra stuff to my cart is not cool when I get charged without me knowing. Then these drivers cry about tips, well how can I tip you when you doing extra stuff that I don't need!!! Tired of it already!!!
Don't buy Kroger meat!
I bought some Fischer's bologna from Kroger on 5/15/26, The expiration date was in July, I made a sandwich on 5/23/26. After eating it I went to put the rest in a baggie, that's when I found green on the bottom. I tried to throw up but couldn't. Contacted Kroger, They told me to contact Fischer's. I found on social media that Kroger has problems with meat handling. I am 64 and disabled , I just hope I don't get sick, I put the rest in the freezer in case I do get sick for my attorney.

Triple billed and can't get a refund
I've shopped at Kroger, literally for decades and I've never really had any problems with them or their merchandise. But recently, I purchased an order online for pickup and got a message that the transaction hadn't been completed and so I placed the order again. When I got the message that the order hadn't been completed the second time I realized that I should check my debit card and sure enough, my debit card had been charged twice for the order. I contacted the local store and was told they were having problems with their online ordering system and to try again in a couple of hours. I was finally able to place the order later but the 2 original charges weren't put back into my account. Ive called their 1 800 number and the store manager and no one has been the least bit helpful at all. To sum it up, I have been charged for $250 worth of groceries because their system was malfunctioning and no one can seem to figure out how to put that money back into my account. They said that it will go back onto my card sometime in the next 3 to 5 business days. With this being a holiday weekend , that means sometimes next week. Who can afford to lose that much money for over a week? I am thoroughly disgusted with them. They have inconvenienced me horribly, and with my debit card company telling me all they have to do is cancel the transaction, I find it hard to believe they can't fix this now. Worst customer service ever!

If I could give a zero for the consistent unacceptable conditions, I would. They are always understaffed and their employees definitely make clear that they hate their job. I am not that particular, but Kroger is one store that every time I walk out of it, I wish I never had to shop at it again. Thankfully, it is rare. it just amazes me how consistently bad they can be.

Lower Prices = Garbage Quality
This new lower price thing they started is horrible. I shopped at Kroger for quality, but the quality and sizes of the products have gone down tremendously. For the quality, I might as well shop at Dollar General. I never thought I would say that Walmart is a better option but here we are..
Asst store mgr Carolyn has great customer service along with her beautiful smile.
Today a young lady named Carolyn who is the assistant store manager walked up and introduced herself to me and my grandchildren. She made my day by just acknowledging me. The store manager never speak to anyone who shops at 230 Tom Hill Sr Blvd, Macon, Ga. 31210 location.
Her smile and her customer service is what got me to write this review.
She will be a great asset to this store. I know the associates will love her and her personality. She seems very professional and eager to grow the store. Again I am pleased to welcome assistant store mgr Carolyn to our community. Now with that being said, please tell your store manager he needs to develop better relationships with the customers and his team members who work at this location. A simple hello goes a long way but being a grinch doesn’t. This store manager walks past me all the time and he never speaks or look at you to see if you need any help. Good customer service goes a long way. It can make or break you. Thanks for listening. I am a shopper who shops all the time at this location and I see what I see.
Un professional KROGER
I’m writing because I don’t want it to be just a little secret between me and Kroger. Kroger online ordering is incompetent, rude and non productive. I have had Kroger to deliver my food every week, YET, after being an hour late I get a call from Kroger telling me the driver does not know how to get to my house. I told him I’m next to Providence hospital. ANOTHER hour goes by. I call Kroger and am told he’ll be here in ‘2 hours’. Then I was told he’ll be here in 8 hours. Then I was told he was way across town and won’t be coming at all. I’ve had no food all day. I couldn’t take my medicine without the required food. And although I’m a boost member where as I pay $12.99 a month to get Kroger delivery, free, I now had to REorder with INSTRACART delivery for $10.00!!!!!
Then they did not send my cat fish or Salmon and never told me they were out of stock.
Bottom line, I spent the entire Mother’s Day working with a Kroger driver with no GPS (& should be checked for alcoholism), total incompetence, rudeness and unprofessionalism!!!
Be aware of ordering online with Kroger. You may get stuck with a driver who should be a bagger inside the store rather than a driver. Thx, Kroger, for ruining my entire Mother’s Day.

I love my Kroger
I love my Kroger. Have always shopped there. I shop at Brlt Line store in Addison Tx. KROGER, you need to train your people how to sack groceries. They put all the heavy things in one bag. I’ve had several back surgeries so it’s hard to shop. They do most of the lifting for me in the store, but I still have to carry it into my house.
