The locksmith turned up with a child in his car and my husband told him what was wrong with door but was ignored and proceeded to start drilling in the wall which left sharp jagged edges, my husband told him to stop. We were charged 180 for the job which was unprofessional. Never again. Avoid like the plague.

Gave a £50 quote to my auntie on the phone then did 5 mins of work and tried to charge £650 with no invoice or explanation. She refused to pay it - DO NOT PAY in this situation.

Absolute scam of a company that takes advantage of people in their desperate time of need and charging extortionate prices.

My partner and I made the mistake of clicking the first link on Google (we have a 5 month old and was freaking out) and was charged over £1k to unlock the door. They told us the locking mechanism is a 'high security lock system' that's niche and required two locksmiths and destructive drilling to open (which turned out to be false). The fees were not disclosed until the job was complete, it felt like they charged whatever they felt like at the moment and at that point we had no choice but to pay.

We understand an emergency callout in central London is expensive. However, after consulting with other locksmiths in the area after the fact, we were told we've been charged triple of what the rate should be and destructive force were not needed for our type of lock.

Called out via website. Subcontractor went to the wrong address (his error), yelled at me over the phone. Eventually arrived at my address, speeding in his car as he was angry; his tires even screeched as he stopped. Arrived without any tools to hand. Looked at the lock for 30 seconds, and told me he'd need to drill, which costs an extra £120+. As a tenant, I said I couldn't sign off on that. Refused to leave my property late at night unless I paid the call-out fee under intense intimidation. Police reference logged. Company management refused to refund.

Scam artist company. Do not use. Avoid at all costs. They will steal your money

Avoid this company. Was quoted £50 for a call out and simple fix, the guy was late arriving then spent longer telling me about why he needed £250 for the job than the 3 minutes it took him. Avoid.

I'd really avoid using this company. The service was fast and efficient but the price was totally extortionate.

To give some credit where it is due, I can't fault the fact that the technician arrived very quickly and was able to get me back into my home within 20m of arriving. In that sense, this company came to my rescue very quickly and efficiently.

The cost, however, was extortionate and I believe they just took advantage of me. I was told on the phone that it would cost £55 to have a technician come out to my propery but the exact cost would depend on the amount of work the technician needs to do when he arrives. I pressed the person on the phone to give me a ballpark figure of roughly how much the service could cost me, and he said roughly £135 for a simple job and £235 for a more complicated job.

Upon arriving, the technician immediately said the only option was to drill the lock and replace it entirely, as my lock was a complex one that couldn't be picked. I'm very skeptical as it was only an ordinary door lock.

The technician then went on to charge me ~£500 which is more than double what I was quoted on the phone. This was also me going for the cheapest option and resisting a £200 more expensive "higher security" lock which the locksmith tried to convince me to buy.

The prices from this company therefore feel like a scam and I'd recommend using other locksmith services.

Appalling. Please avoid this company like the plague and always read reviews before you employ a locksmith.i could not do this at the time of this incident. I was the victim of an extortionate scam and left with no option but to fork out a sum of money which was at least two thirds higher than most decent, honest locksmiths would charge. This company, ran by a Romanian called Christian Mihai Oltean, based at a rundown address in Ealing has a landline number which cuts out after the first ring, Everytning was dodgy and screamed scam but I was in no position to quibble about the price. Hugely expensive and cost as outlined by the engineer bore no relation to the website. No attempt was made to pick the lock, just instant drilling and the whole thing was wrapped up in minutes. Having seen numerous TV programmes about locksmith scams, there was I, the victim of one, but I had no choice. My mistake was using this awful company. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I shall be reporting this company to the relevant authorities.

SCAMMERS - please avoid at all costs. Tried to charge me £750 for a broken lock. Disgusting people taking advantage of those in emergencies.

Be aware of this company the guy who came to fix the lock was completely scam the job was only 1 minute and took advantage of the situation because i was locked put with 3 young kids ask me to pay 250£ and it didn't even needed to do any drill or breakage of locks. When i asked why he said because its saturday night i will charge you £250 other wise u stay outside with kids very bad service and very rude staff only scamming people and taking advantage of situation never recommend this to anyone

I had a very disappointing experience with 24H Locksmith and would not recommend their services based on my experience.

The locksmith who attended, Gabriel, was unable to pick the lock and repeatedly stated that it was impossible to pick. He suggested drilling into the door as the solution. However, after contacting another locksmith company, they were able to pick the exact same lock successfully and without causing any damage. This makes me seriously question the assessment I was given.

Throughout the visit, Gabriel came across as rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. I also felt under pressure to agree to additional work and higher costs rather than being given clear and impartial advice about my options.

I was also unhappy with the pricing. The costs discussed did not match my understanding of what I was later asked to pay.

What made the situation even more frustrating was the complete lack of response from the company afterwards. I emailed 24H Locksmith twice regarding my concerns and never received a reply. I also called multiple times and was repeatedly told that the matter would be raised with a manager and that someone would get back to me. Despite these assurances, no manager ever contacted me and my complaint appears to have been ignored.

When speaking to the office staff by phone, I found them to be rude and dismissive. Rather than taking my concerns seriously and attempting to resolve the issue professionally, I felt that I was simply being brushed off.

Overall, I paid for a service that failed to resolve the problem, was told the lock was impossible to pick when another locksmith opened it without damage, experienced poor customer service from both the attending locksmith and the office staff, and received no meaningful response when attempting to raise a complaint. Very disappointing experience.

The locksmith himself was sound but I was quoted between 90 and 150 over the phone then the locksmith turns up and says it will cost me 210. He does the work which took about 5 minutes and gave me a bill of over 250 because he left out the VAT. It’s not difficult to give a proper quote.

Locksmith was excellent and felt he was following company policy and procedures, however, significant and exorbitant hidden fees and costs well above the price of other local locksmiths and the cost of the materials, as well as hidden VAT. Was supposed to be under £100 and, despite me checking if they would be required to drill the lock, when that ultimately turned out to be require, it rose to £330.

Arrived promptly and gave a quote of £129 plus new basic lock £130 but then charged £476…..AVOID

Scammer told me £55 to do basic to get in my door the key was on the other side then he said he can’t use tools to get in and tried to charge my £285 😂 I told him

I am writing this review still in utter disbelief of the "service" this company has provided us. Today my wife and I , both in our 80s, came home to find our front door lock had seized meaning we could not gain access to our home. We had no other option than to call for an emergency locksmith as it was past normal shop hours. We were told on the phone that the cost would be about £50. The technician arrived fairly quickly and with just one look announced that it was a high security lock and would have to be drilled out. I asked the cost again and was quoted about another £189. The job was completed with a new lock fitted. I was then presented with a bill of £1300 ! This consisted of call out charge, drilling out charge. new lock barrel charge, new lock charge, labour charge for drilling old lock, labour charge for fitting new lock and charge for 2year guarantee (which comes with the lock anyway). I obviously questioned the amounts and finally the technician said he could give me the 2 year guarantee for free! But he would not budge with any of the other charges. So I paid £1111 pounds for a 20 minute job and no clearing up. What a total rip-off do not use this company!!

Use high-pressure tactics during a call out for an emergency to make you change your lock (and significantly overcharge for it). I didn't need a new lock I later realised, however they claimed I did and charged £400+ for it, substantially greater than the market rate. The locksmith, whilst resolved the initial issue of a key stuck in the lock quickly, was then rude, dismissive and aggressive. Would strongly suggest avoiding using this company and finding one registered with the Master Locksmiths Association.

Gabriel was great, good help; just make sure to confirm the final prices by phone to avoid an upsell.
