Worst car rental we’ve experienced
Worst car rental we’ve experienced. They are exceptionally slow, which results in long waiting lines (2 hours in our case) even though everyone in line had reservations. The car itself was also not good (check engine light on, several damages, engine not properly working), not to mention the baby seat (very poor quality, not safe at all). We will never rent a car here again.
Avoid Ilha Verde
The queue at Ponta Delgada Airport was many hours long so we took a taxi to the town for Euro 10. I went to the office in the town the next morning and was told I could pick up the car the following day - we arrived with kids and suitacases, no car, it had been rented out again. No response to my email to customer services, such a shame, as the Azores are beautiful and service elsewhere great.

Terrible Cars
We rented cars from Ilha Verde on 3 islands during our recent trip. All of the cars were in very bad condition. Two of them had faulty air-conditioning and the other one had very noisy and poor brakes.
There were extremely long queues in Ponta Delgada with people waiting for over an hour to pick-up their rental cars. And the process on Pico was even worse. This company should definitely be avoided. We rented from another company on Faial (Auto Turistica) and everything was very much superior.
Miserabler Service, mangelhafte Autos
Der Service sowohl beim Übernahme als auch bei Abgabe ist miserabel. Bei Ankunft auf Terceira suchte die kaugummikauende Mitarbeiterin zunächst unseren Namen in einer falschen Liste. Nach langem Tippen im Computer mussten wir dann mit der Hand nochmals Sachen aufschreiben, die sie bereits hatten. Als sie uns endlich zum Auto brachte, fand sie es nicht. Nach einiger Zeit des Suchens auf einem anderen Parkplatz kam sie dann damit angefahren und stellte es so dämlich hin, dass sie gleich wieder wegfahren musste, um den Weg frei zu geben. Dann ließen sich Kofferraum und die hinteren Türen nicht öffnen und es brauchte zwei weitere Mitarbeiter, um das Problem zu lösen. Der Wagen selbst: Bremsen waren runtergefahren, vorderes rechte Licht funktionierte nicht, ein Radlager war kurz vor der Kapitulation. Bei der Rückgabe wieder Schneckentempo.
Viel zu lange Wartezeiten

Mussten 1 1/2 Stunden warten bis wir unser Auto hatten weil viel zu große Schlange war. Und das scheint jeden Tag so zu sein. Unser Auto hatte kaputte bremsen. Als wir zu einer Station fuhren brauchten wir auch da über 1 Stunde dabei waren 3 Leute vor uns. Aus dem Hinterzimmer kamen andauernd Mitarbeiter aber liefen einfach nur rum.
An der Abgabe am Flughafen brauchten wir dann auch wieder 45 Minuten weil in der Schlange 2 waren wo ihre Autos abholen wollten und die Dame am Schalter sie nicht weggeschickt obwohl Rückgabe der Autos Priorität hat laut Schild. Soviel dazu.
Das TUI so eine Firma vermittelt und sich nicht schämt..... lieber zahle ich in Zukunft mehr für den Wagen aber kann entspannt meinen Mietwagen holen und abgeben. So was hatten wir noch bei keinem Mietwagen.
Achtung Finger weg von dem Anbieter
Achtung Finger weg von dem Anbieter! Haben die Kautionen (2x 1200 Euro) bis jetzt nicht rückerstattet bekommen. Haben nun unsere Rechtschutzversicherung eingeschaltet und ein charge-back-Verfahren bei Viseca International eingeleitet. Das Mietfahrzeug welches wir erhalten haben war schrottreif (>10 jährig, > 80tkm, defekte Kupplung).

Kundenunfreundlicher geht es kaum. Bei der Rückgabe meines Fahrzeuges am Flughafen Ponta Delgada um 05:15 sollte ich eine Gebühr von 35 Euro zahlen oder 15 Minuten warten. Das Büro hatte geöffnet und zwei Mitarbeiterinnen hatten gelangweilt dagesessen.

Easy to pickup the car at the airport, even
in the middle of the night.
Returning is also easy in downtown.
The car was not to comfortable and had some sheet metal damage, but it worked.
Every cost was included in the booking via Discovercars.com.
Deposit was fast returned.
I am satisfied with this company.

Nem me explicaram como o carro funcionava (era um eletrico), não me informaram de postos de abastecimento, disseram para ir ao google! e o carro vinha com um cartão da GALP que só funcionava num unico posto da ilha! Péssima impressão!

A razão de vir aqui expressar a minha opinião tem que ver com o facto de em Abril ter estado nos Açores através de uma agência de viagens e com automóvel de aluguer da vida verde , e por curiosidade ter consultado um site qualquer qualquer da vida verde ou sobre a via verde RENT CAR em que vi muitas críticas e opiniões negativas
Hoje passado um mês da minha viajem e do serviço da via verde venho aqui classificar de muito bom todo o serviço que tiveram para comigo , automóvel acima das expectativas iniciais também pela maioria dos comentários que tinha lido
Um obrigado pelo serviço que Concerteza voltarei a utilizar numa futura oportunidade que tenha necessidade dos V/ serviços .

2 Autos gemietet via Sunny Cars: San Miguel und Pico
+ Auto auf San Miguel war eine höhere Kategorie als gebucht
+ Personal war korrekt bis sehr freundlich
+ Keine Probleme bei der Rückgabe bezüglich Kratzer und Beulen. Die hier erwähnte "Reinigungsgebühr" war bei uns nirgends ein Thema
+/- Wartezeit, wir hatten jeweils 3 Parteien vor uns, d.h. ca. 45 Min.
+/- Beide Autos mit einigen Kratzern, die mehr oder weniger auf dem Mietformular vermerkt waren. Wir haben Fotos gemacht und am 2. Tag per Mail nachgemeldet. Es kam keine Rückmeldung auf unser Mail.
+/- Am 2. Tag auf San Miguel Warnmeldung bezüglich Reifendruck. Per Telefon wurde versichert, dies sei kein Problem, solange der Reifen nicht platt sei, und dem Kopfsteinpflaster geschuldet. Wir fuhren die restliche Mietdauer mit Warnleuchte.
- Zustand des Autos auf Pico: 90'000 km, Tankdeckel beschädigt, Fussmatte fahrerseitig voller Erde, Klimaanlage funktionierte nicht.
- Bei Rückgabe San Miguel funktionierte die Stornierung des Selbstbehaltes nicht. Spätere, versprochene Bestätigung per Mail blieb aus, die Stornierung erfolgte zwar, dies musste ich aber über meine Kreditkarten in Erfahrung bringen.
Alles in allem: befriedigend, nicht mehr, nicht weniger.
Slow brakes and faulty refund
My friends and I rented the car on 19th May, to return it on the 20th. First thing we noticed was that the brakes were incredibly worn out, and in an island like Sao Miguel, which is all hills, it is not good. If a child had crossed the road out of nowhere, we would have run him over because of how slow the brakes ere.
We did not report the issue when we got back as we thought they were going to charge us, believing we caused it. ( we are young adults, so it would have been probable)
Second issue was the deposit refund. I had used a british credit card, in which they were just supposed to block the money and then refund it. At our return, there was an issue with the credit card machine and told us they'd unblock the money within the hour and get back to me through email. Three days later I still had no information from them, and when I asked for the refund, they insisted I give them an IBAN. Now, British cards don't have that, but I have an italian one and gave them that. What if I hadn't had that? Also I asked them to cover the transaction fees to get the money back on the british credit card, and they just ignored me.
While the people I did the transactions with at the airport were nice and competent, I am afraid I cannot recommend the service for the above complications

La empresa es la más barata de todas las que hay en Azores pero jamás volveré a reservar con ellos ni la recomiendo. Nos dieron un coche viejo con casi 100.000 kms; y como a mucha otra gente, a la hora de la devolución, vienen los problemas. No nos pasó solamente a nosotros si no a más gente. Te pueden decir que tiene un rasguño que tú no viste y nadie apuntó y te harán pagar un pastizal por ello. Tienen establecido a través un listado lo que cuestan las reparaciones y te cobran sin saber exactamente cuanto costará la reparación. Escribes una reclamación y amablemente te envían una factura por el importe exacto que te cobraron. Qué casualidad!!

Pegaso car hire . Porto Nova Santo Antau Cape Verde is owned by 2 crooks who exploit tourists by charging them for mechanical repairs which is illegal.
My issue was February 2022, the Suzuki jimmy which had 76,000 plus kilometres on the clock developed a clutch plate problem . This happened just a few minutes from there office . The car was driven back ,expecting an immediate replacement . To my astonishment the manager and his muppet demanded I pay for the clutch before he would give me a replacement vehicle . I told him all mechanical defects are the car owners responsible, His version was perhaps elsewhere but not in Cape verde . He realised I was not going to pay so threatened to call the police ,as if that was going to make a difference . The police arrived ,99 % of the conversation was in Portuguese, my input despite being legally correct was ignored. The opinion of the police was I should pay the money. I just wanted another vehicle to continue my holiday so decided to pay the 200 euros and contest the issue with my credit card company. I went to another company and hired a trouble free vehicle for the remainder of my trip.
After leaving Santo Antao I flew to Sal and hired a vehicle at the holiday resort of Santa Maria. I told the owner of my experience with Pegaso car hire , he told me they are not registered with the government to run a hire car company , to charge the hirer for mechanical repairs is completely illegal. However the Police in Capeverde dont think so which begs the question, who's lining who's pockets . If you decide to hire from these bandits have a mechanical problem ,stand firm and dont pay anything. He has been discredited on social media so hopefully the Cape verde Government will make him run a legitimate buisness .
Company does not return EUR 1200 deposit
The company did not give me back my deposit and reacted rudely to my emails when I addressed the issue. Reading the reviews here, I am not the only one.
The deposit has now been blocked on my card for 14 days after successful return of the car. I had to file an official complaint through my bank, hoping I will get the EUR 1200 back.
