I have been facing a persistent problem with the ICICI Bank UK mobile app. Despite reporting the issue multiple times, the IT team has not been able to resolve it. This has caused serious inconvenience, especially when travelling, as I was unable to transfer money when I needed it most. ICICI Bank UK customers should be aware of these ongoing technical issues, particularly if you rely on the app while on the move. I hope the bank takes this feedback seriously and finally provides a permanent fix.

So this bank decided it was going to randomly lock me out of my account and not give me a reason why. Alls I've been told is that a review of some sort is being done but I've not been given anymore information.
So now as it stands I have no access to my money to provide my 3 year old child food and essential items, I'm unable to travel to work as I can't access my money and I'm also not able to pay my bills or rent
Alls I keep being told is "we are sorry for any inconvenience and we understand your issue"
No one at this bank understands anything I'm going through as it's not them dealing with this issue.
There is no reason for this bank to restrict access to my money as I've not done anything for this to happen.
I would not suggest using ICICI as a bank account as they don't seem to want to treat customers correctly

DELETED LINKED BANK ACCOUNT
Last October (2024) ICICI deleted my linked bank account so I could not transfer money in or out of the account. This problem was eventually sorted out but has once again happened whereby my linked account has been deleted from the system. Even though I've emailed them twice I still not had the courtesy of a reply. Unfortunately when I phoned them last year I had great difficulty in understanding them so had to only correspond by email.

ICICI Bank, Soho Road, Birmingham branch
Excellent staff and their service at the Birmingham branch of ICICI. In particular, Sukhjinder Kaur who is my Customer Relationship Manager. She provided excellent service and assisted me personally to conclude an NRI matter. She is very knowledgeable and patient, guiding me on all the technical matters under consideration.
This bank is far better than its competitors. Try it and judge for yourself.
Ms Tanvi Kakkar Southall Branch ICICI Bank
Just wanted to thank your Customer Services Representatives Ms Lakshmi Dogra and Ms Tanvi Kakkar who went above and beyond in their customer delivery to myself and my wife . I had alot of issues with my ICICI bank cards and account . Ms Dogra explained the whole process and also assisted by calling your head office as to resolve the situation, which was done in a timely manner. My mobile banking had issues too Ms Kakkar assisted me with this issue and explained all the functions for mobile banking. Ms Dogra also explained ICICI Banking in India as well as the UK , as i reside in the UK . It was great to receive good customer service on this occasion both your staff members need to be commanded .Pls pass on my regards and best wishes to both Ms Dogra and Ms Kakkar both of whome are an asset to ICICI Bank Southall branch .
Manchester ICICI Bank Branch - Worst experience
A quick summary of my experience : I was betrayed, I lost access to my past 8 years of investments, and paid a heavy price for trusting them over the past 2 decades of my overall banking relationship with them. All these without my faults or any wrongdoings. The past one and a half months have been hell…
It all started on the 11th of July when through an e-mail I requested to convert my ICICIDirect account from Resident Indian(RI) to NRI. The following day Alston called me, I explained to him that I have a decent portfolio (comprising of MFs and Bonds) which I have built like a baby over the past 8 years, so this request is not just for a new account opening but rather a conversion. He said it would all be taken care of and take an overall 3 weeks time, within which my old account will be closed and a new NRI account will be created and all assets will be migrated to the new account. Subsequently, on 19th July he came to my house(on an appointment), we had lunch together and then he happily collected all the required documents. The following week my old account was closed, meaning I lost access to my investments. But I wasn’t worried because I thought I would anyways regain the access in a short while (as promised). On observing that no updates are coming in over the next week or so, I started calling Alston. My agony started here after. He didn’t respond to my calls, text, or WhatsApp messages. Was a bit surprised, the man who was spontaneously responding to my calls/messages before, had stopped suddenly. I started thinking about his well-being. Days later he responded saying he was on emergency leave but he will pick up the matter. He again came back quickly asking to resend a scanned copy of a credential, which I did. Finally, on 24th July I gained access to a fresh/new ICICIDirect account, on seeing that my old assets were not reflecting in my new account, I called him, but he hardly responded to my calls. One day he luckily picked up my call and referred me to Sambit(his colleague from London office). After several calls/text messages/voice mails, he finally responded on the 3rd day and collected my PAN number and said he will quickly get back to me. Seeing that he hasn’t come back, I pinged him and he responded that he is off and will get back by Wednesday(4th Aug). Today I have been calling him since monring, but there is no response. I thought let me try an alternate way by calling the NRI customer care(via UK toll-free number), they say since the request originated from an offshore Bank branch, I need to approach the branch. I even requested Alston to provide a colleague’s contact at the branch(the branch manager or customer care rep.) who I can speak to, but didn’t get a response. Interestingly, after number of calls/messages, Alston responded to me Today that he has resigned from the job. So, the door is shut for me there. The guy he referred me to, doesn’t respond to my calls. Every moment I regret that, I should have redeemed my assets rather than requesting for conversion. My 20 years of trust with ICICI Bank has been shattered. I lost the ability to redeem my own investments. I almost begged Alston that I have dire need of money, so I needed to redeem some holdings, but people are so merciless. In my career I worked for a leading UK bank for many more years, I know people in the finance and banking section, and most importantly the customer-facing guys must be sensible towards the customers because out of trust they keep their hard-earned money thinking that it is in the safe hand. And as they need, they can get back any time. It took 20 years to realise that I was in an illusion, after I requested help(to comply with regulations) they shut their doors. and removed access to my own investments.
I don’t know what to do next, all doors are shut. I am tired, frustrated, ignored, and humiliated. Possibly I am even considering to take off from work and go on a silent/peaceful yet indefinite protest in the Manchester Branch.
ICICI Southall Branch
We had a very complicated state of affairs to get resolved. Our ICICI representative Geerish Mandreker from the Southall branch did a marvellous job of resolving all the issues. He was candid, frank, honest and had our best interests at heart. What a brilliant man. A true example of how a customer service agent should be. Thank you.
Responsive. Helpful. Easy-to-use website
I used to be with PNB but their services were terrible. I opened an account with ICICI at their Tower Hill branch. I cannot believe how much superior the service from ICICI has been. Mr Dharav Shah is most helpful and very responsive, even at weekends. The ICICI website i also excellent, very modern and easy-to-use. I have been able to do all my transactions online.

I am 68 and never, ever in my life have I had such dealings with people who haven't got a clue what the word customer services mean. The website continually refuses to accept my personal details, although confirmed in a separate email. When phoning for advice, this lasts a couple of minutes, then they say "I need to do some things elsewhere, I will call you back" but they don't. A group of 6 year olds could operate a company better than this.
