Signed up to do what i thought was an IDM course, but ended up talking to IDM-online who are at best are unhelpful at worst purposefully obstructive. I continually asked who their online dispute resolution scheme was no answer, only ombudsman they would commit to being a part of was Financial Ombudsman. The course was advertised as being possible on 7 hours a week, no way, i was advised, that the other reading material wasnt needed for the course, well actually it was, this course was minimum 20-25 hours a week and in no way possible on 7 hours a week, i think HLC need to consider who they partner with. THE IDM tell me they have parted ways with IDM -online, yet the emails from IDM online, their Idm-online co uk connects to the IDM website. Supposedly different companies. Yet the logos are the same, it is really mis leading. I wasnt happy from the get go as i asked a few questions in the live classes only to be ignored so gave up on live classes and just watched recorded versions. No responses from lecturers unless weeks after the fact. sold as a level 6 course, SO WHO ACCREDITS IT? who is the skills and qualifications body over seeing a level 6 course? no one seems to be able to give this answer. what a waste of 2k i wouldnt touch this lot with a barge pole. its like good fellas, they all just pass you about and no clarity on anything. All i wanted to do was this course, but wasted so much time. if it wasnt so sad it would be funny.

I would highly recommend Home Learning College to anyone wanting to study from home to expand their skills.

I am currently studying the CIPD Level 3 certificate whilst on maternity leave and found all the staff and tutors extremely supportive and helpful. The course is very well structured and with 2 face to face practical sessions included, encouraged me to make friends along the way.

The virtual learning centre has now been redesigned so is incredibly easy to navigate around online with tutor group forums and a clear indication of where you are within the course and what is expected of you.

I am now on the final unit and hoping to be in a position to further my career in time for when I go back to work or commence the level 5 certificate!

I have recently enrolled on to an AAT home learning course with Home Learning College. I had look a number of provider and had various questions due to my current circumstances. Shaz at Home Learning College was by far the best representative of a distance learning provider that I came across in my quest to enrol on a course. He patiently answered all my questions on email in a timely manner and called me back at an agreed time when I was ready to enrol. He was a very pleasant and kind man who really put me at ease about studying at my own pace. I was being a little impatient, but Shaz chased up my books for me when I enquired to reassure me that all was ok. Totally professional and really gave me a genuinely feeling that they wanted me to do well. Great service for anyone looking to study in their own time, very helpful and organised!!

At first I was slightly apprehensive about starting my AAT Accountancy Level 2 with Home Learning College. I've always been a fan of distance learning but hadn't heard much about this particular organisation. However, after enrolling 8 months ago I have now completed my level 2 and am starting the level 3 in Feb!
The staff are so supportive and each department will handle any enquiries you have efficiently and with care.
The tutors provide extra study materials tailored to your personal needs and are constantly joining in the support group conversations with my peers on the online portal.
Even when I lacked motivation or struggled with the work, I never felt alone. My tutor would always be on hand to help or one of the team. Even when they are away for any reason, you are always given plenty of notice and given alternative tutor contacts to use.
If you are unsure about HLC....don't be! They are fantastic and will do everything they can to help you. This is the only distance learning provider I have ever studied with that I feel have actually taken the time to treat me as an individual...not just a number on their enrolment sheet.

Staff either did not reply to emails or said they had no way of helping. My 'personal tutor' was unavailable most of the time due to the new website having issues often with emails sent out telling users its unavailable.Students started a forum to complain about the service it is that bad.

Complaints department apologised for their tutors behaviour and told me they would now act as my tutor. Being that they are not qualified I have declined their offer and have only been offered a small refund.

Save yourself the hassle and get yourself passed with a college that cares for its students.

I studied the CAM Digital Marketing diploma with Home Learning College, and I wouldn't recommend it. The assignment grading is questionable, as the standards to get an A grade are far far lower than the standards needed to get an A grade in the exam, which leads to students being very unprepared for the exam assignment (at least in my case). Many of the assignments given are also a lot of busy-work without teaching much.

On a more positive note, the tutors and admin staff are quick to respond to queries and generally helpful, so I would say that it is the course structure and grading that are mostly the problems.

It was a great way to complete a course and work at the same time. Website was easy to use, lots of support and tips how to use it. Tutor was always friendly, helpful and always felt supported, you could contact them and by 48 hours you would have a reply.

I would recommend this college to anyone, I will be starting my second course with them very shortly.

I have recently completed my level 5 CIPD HR Management qualification with the home learning college.
I cannot recommend the course and the home learning college highly enough. Throughout a challenging year of holding down 2 jobs and studying the support I have received from my tutors Honor and Davina has been invaluable. The online lectures and workshops were excellent and gave me the tools I needed to complete my assignments.
I would highly recommend studying with the home learning college.

I am thankful I completed my AAT level 2 in Home Learning College. It was fantastic and great experience because I gained new skills to manage sage accounting software. The online learning support and handbooks were easy to understand for non-native English speaker. I wasn't alone for my studies because I got additional support from the tutor that ready to answer my queries and the student services was great help to facilitate booking my exam on time. I am feel confident to applying job now.

I have only needed to contact student services once and the service I received was amazing.

I am studying the CIPD level 3. There is a flexible payment plan, the textbook is provided (worth £40+) and ebooks for every module. The classes are well paced and I have been impressed with how you can see the tutor via video link as well as a PowerPoint, a chat box and options for answering questions in the design.

The first workshop weekend was excellent. ETC venues is outstanding. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate free all day, pastries in the morning, choice of 3 cooked meals at lunch (meat, fish and vegetarian) as well as an extensive salad bar. Dessert provided too. Waiters are extremely polite and you feel like you are in a very posh restaurant.

HLC staff support at the weekend is fantastic. I was buzzing after my presentation and was given much advice on future career options. I have made friends and we all build each other up to progress in our course.

During my time studying with home learning college, the staff were very friendly and always very quick to reply to emails and offer help when necessary. During the 2 weekend workshops which took place, all the lecturers made everyone feel very relaxed and also made it a very enjoyable experience. My only slight criticism might have been that the website which held all the course content was not very user friendly however home learning college listened to the feedback they received from students and have since rectified this and the new layout has made it a lot better. The lecturers which worked out roughly around 1 a week, gave a great deal of information in them in that hour and as all lecturers were recorded it was ideal for referring to these when completing assessments. All in all very pleased with the service provided by home learning college and would recommend them to anyone.

I have recently completed my Level 3 CIPD course in HR.
I am so glad that I choose to use the Home Learning college to help me gain this first of many qualifications in HR. I decided last year that I wanted to work in HR. I enjoy dealing with people as I find that is my strength. When I googled how to gain a HR qualification The Home learning college came up. They were in touch with me the next day and before I knew it I signed up. i have enjoyed this course the workshops were fantastic all though the lead up can be very daunting as you don't know what to expect but they are fantatic so much fun and straight away you are at ease. All the tutors are so helpful and will make sure you succeed. My tutor Les Curzon my guro was an amazing support throughout this course. I was really worried at the fact the majority of this course is on online I was worried, however the Home Learning College have that support in place of you need any help they are there. I have regained back my confidence as I have successfully passed this course and worked full time while doing it. I have not studied in 10 years and to do this was a big deal but The Home learning College made that possible I can't thank them eneumh. I strongly recommend to use them as a provider for any CIPD course you may wish to under take as they make the results you want happen. I felt amazing when I received my result felt a sense of atchievment. It is manageable to work full time and complete this course provided you give the time and dedication to it you will have no problems in passing. I hope to go into be a trainer as the workshop I did as part of this course inspired me to go down this roote in HR. Fantatic course provider , fantastic tutors. And brilliant online system strongly recommend.

After lots of research, I have selected Home Learning college for my AAT level 2 course. They do not hide any extra cost ie: sitting exams, admin, etc.
Also they are not just providing the course textbooks and online lessons with great recordings but they also help with your CV and job search. The tutors are great, Adam Ruston-Shaw has always answered my questions. He is always available and has the ability to explain the lessons in a very clear and understandable way. I just wished that the AAT exams were as straight forward as the HLC assessments as being a non English native student, I find them sometimes a bit confusing. I have not regret in choosing the Home learning college and looking forward to going back to work when fully qualified.

After trying and failing to study with a cheaper provider I was hesitant to try distance learning again. I wasn't rushed into a decision and fully understood why Home Learning College were not the cheapest for CIPD course's but they have a better rate of success.I'm so glad I signed up my tutor Vicky and Les and some others were always helpful and I had very quick replies to my email queries and when I called through each one took the time to explain things in a logical manner.I loved the workshops and the fact they are included in the fees makes a big difference, I was able to plan my time to attend and to get my qualification in 9 months was amazing, thank you Home Learning College for helping me get my CIPD qualification I would 100% recommend these guys.

In opposition to my early expectations, HLC delivered everything it promised. Although I have no previous experience in HR like many fellow students have, I had no problem completing the papers, or the workshop projects. Not to mention our tutor, who gave us every support he could - either in mail, Skype, or on phone.
I have read through some comments before I started to write mine, I was quite surprised a few of them were one-stars. I have not had any such experience, and I confidently recommend HLC to anyone, who wants to learn.

So initially I was concerned about doing distance learning, because of not being in a class room and having the tutor infront of me but i have to say i am so pleased i did this course. The Tutors were always on hand whether by phone or email and always got back to me with supportive and helpful replies, I found the VLC very easy to navigate, the course materials very easy to understand and work through. I have now finished levels 1,2 and 3 and look forward to implementing what i have learnt. Iwould definately recommend to a friend.

Had never experienced online learning before and was a little hesitant. So glad I went ahead. Live classes. Tutor available nearly 24/7. All course text required is available online. VLC easy to navigate. Social site to get to know the rest of your group. 2 presentations in London for the course I did. Really well run and a fantastic experience .
Would deffinately consider using HLC again.

A helpful company, the tutors tend to reply quickly with relevant and helpful input (often faster than school/college from my experience), and the staff are generally friendly individuals who help where possible.

In addition, the exams team seem helpful and seem to respond to any queries and/or issues with dates, and try to pick the most convenient exam centre for you.

The only issues I have experienced so far however are the VLC updates making study resources temporarily unavailable (but tutors will email copies if asked, thus solving this), and the VLC layout changing, which caused some confusion towards finding the required resources at first, but has since been resolved.
