Homebase - Oxford Recenzje 

I have just had the most fantastic customer service experience from Karl who works at the Cowley store in Oxford.

The store was out of a type of paint and when I phoned to see if it was in stock Karl picked up the phone and said it was discontinued.

Instead of just leaving it there he proactively suggested searching nearby shops for me.
Finding some in Abingdon, he personally picked the paint up on his day off and brought it to the Cowley store for pick up.
He even sent me a text message confirming this.

Karl - you are a hero. As long as you work for Homebase that's where I'm shopping for my DIY things. Someone give that main a raise.

Pigeons flying about, and definitely lots of Pigeon mess. Hopefully having the birds removed would be good.

Very efficient service helpful staff

Absolutely clueless employee on the Collection desk. Handed over the wrong lawnmower, then repeatedly argued it was correct, despite being the wrong model and type, and having a different order number and name on the sticker!

Easy order process and pick up easy with the offer to help load up not to mention good price

Ordered small door/draw knobs via click and collect to match others I already purchased in another store.
Collected and got them home to find they are damaged - scratched, different colour to the others and unusable on the same items of furniture. Tried to return them due to condition but I had not been given a receipt when I collected and apparently my text to confirm the order wasn’t enough to use as proof so I am stuck with items that can’t be used.

Was served by Stephen who couldnt be bothered to say hello. Carried on with his conversation with another colleague who also ignored me. Just scanned the items, didn't say how much it came to and then thrust the receipt at me and said… ‘here you go’, then continued his conversation.

Not expecting a long chat but if you are going to work in customer service, then at least say hello…

Unfortunately I have to leave a review for hopefully future improvements. The Horspath Driftway homebase in Oxford has some very miserable unfriendly staff ! . It's very uninviting at the best of times and expensive, I only use if I really really have to for convenience :/ for my property maintenance job . B&Q has a much more pleasant feeling and staff smile 😊 .

I went in for some advice on how to fix a cat scratching post/bed/toy that I damaged while trying to put it together. It was made of fairly cheap materials and I didn't want the bother of sending it back. The first adviser I spoke to in the Oxford store said there was no glue or wood filler that would do the job, and wandered off. Then Wendy at the till asked her husband Steve, who also works at the shop, to take a look. Apparently he doesn't like not to solve a problem, so he took a little time to think about it, in discussion with me. In the end he worked out a good solution and fixed the item there and then. It saved me a load of hassle, and left me feeling very positive. It was my good luck that the right people were there and wanted to help. They both went above and beyond to sort out the issue, and naturally this will have a knock-on effect the next time I decide where to go for my DIY and other items.

Great fast and on time

Fantastic attention from the Cowley/Oxford branch. The instore designer did a great job helping me make choices and plan the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom refit. He was so patient and came up with multiple designs! The installation was done by a Homebase recommended builder who was excellent. He did all the logistics and worrying for me:) Together designer and builder worked brilliantly and the whole installation was (for me) totally stress free. I don't know how I could have managed to achieve such a perfect result without them - and in good time... all done in a month! The finished result is exactly what I wanted. So glad I booked a Homebase design session:)

Visited the Oxford Homebase for the first time in ages, other than parking being difficult. Wow what an improvement in the last year. It was bright clean full and the staff were all wonderful. I will be visiting more often I think in the summer.

Quick and easy collection

Friendly staff, simple process, great prices.

Not many staff on so click and collect point was serving all customers so bit of a queue. But otherwise straightforward collection. The item when we unpacked did have some slight damage which is not ideal but fortunately was in one of the bottom corners so not very visible and did not prevent putting the item together.

bought a load of accessories in the summer for bathroom
finally got bathroom redone- to find that 2 of accessories - despite identical model chrome etc were stick on!! A stick on chrome towel rail is absolutely ludicrous as is stick on chrome toilet roll holder - thebuilder told me not to use at all as not fit for purpose- was sure homebase would exchange The writing confirming the stick on is very pale in grey and small and clearly were muddled up with the proper ones
