HOBSON & LATHAM Residential Conveyancing Specialists
Started off well enough, The conveyancer told me he knew the landlords and they were great people. When it came to finally sign the contracts it's only then I receive the paperwork informing me as one of the four leaseholders of a flat costing £110k that I and the other three are paying out over £2000.00 each to have the front of a small terraced house painted.Over EIGHT THOUSAND POUNDS TO DEFACE A BEAUTIFUL YELLOW BRICK TERRACED HOUSE . Out of all the terraced houses this was the only one painted, so I say no thank you very much and the conveyancer tells me on the spot about shared ownership as well as having friends who have bought into this and knowing someone who can hook me up. As I have to look for another flat having spent money and the best part of the quarter trying to put this one in the bag I have a look at the shared ownership. IF YOU HAVE THE DEPOSIT TO BUY A LEASEHOLD OR SHARE OF FREEHOLD DO NOT TOUCH SHARED OWNERSHIP. So I find another studio flat and that took 5 MONTHS to go through, the flat was vacant and had been for a considerably long time. On top of this calls were not returned and over the christmas period I had to wait nearly 3 weeks for and update, which was done not BY the Hobson & Latham, but the estate agent. When the estate agent called me I had already looked at several static caravans and I was actually on a boat for sale in Sovereign Harbour as I had told the conveyancer I was now homeless, which was not even acknowledged on the call. So I complete on the sale and then there is a leak coming through the kitchen ceiling, I am advised to email HOBSON & LATHAM and ask for a TA6 to see if the seller was aware whilst selling and yes you have guessed correctly, NOT A DICKY BIRD. OH and I was charged a shade under £3000.00 for a flat that cost £110k and took 5 months to complete on.
WOULD I RECOMMEND HOBSON & LATHAM, WOULD I HELL!
