Worst realtors in Brighton?
I know that realtors, especially if you are renting, can be difficult. But I am shocked at my experience with Hanover Homes. When I moved into the flat the front garden was covered in building materials, the washing machine was unusable and filled with dirt , the door to the patio had no handle and couldn't close properly, there was a constant leak of dirty water from the upstairs apartment onto the patio and there was a large spider infestation. I was told that all these things would be repaired before I moved in, they were not. I undertook repairs and cleaning at my own cost. I cleared out the front entrance from debris and cut back the plants. I cleaned the washing machine and had to use a professional washing machine cleaning product after each laundry cycle, I cleared out the patio (which was required for it to be painted, which never happened but I have emails explaining this process), I cleared out the infestation and kept the patio clean by power washing it regularly, I weeded, cut back, and planted new plants in the from garden and ensured that the plants already there did not block drains (the council suggested I do this to keep the area tidy and stop future leaks), I replaced the toilet seat and deep cleaned the toilet which had clearly never been done. The patio door was never fixed even after multiple emails, visits from contractors and pointing it out at every visit from a Hanover Homes representatives. The patio was never repainted. The damage done to the floors and bathroom after the flooding, caused by the council, was never fixed. I mentioned all these things to representatives whenever they visited the flat for inspection and they took photos. At no time after a visit was it pointed out to me that there were areas of the flat that were damaged and that I needed to fix. After moving out I sent an extensive email to Hanover Homes listing these areas as I was concerned that I would be charged for things that were not my fault, had existed since before I moved in, or were outside my control (such as fair wear and tear). But when I finally received feedback on my deposit they were taking £900, which is ridiculous of a one bedroom flat that I had looked after and had had many things dine and fixed at my expense. I was given a quote from a builder with generalised line items none of which broke down where I was expected to give money. And things such as repaint the flat, cover a pipe visible in the bedroom have nothing to do with me. They are clearly trying to use my deposit to do renovations that do not fall within reasonable wear and tear and cleaning. I am desperately trying to get money back from them. But I haven't heard in more than a week after complaining for the second time that their offer is unfair. I have been completely taken advantage of since moving in. Do not use them!
