Greenland travel's short break to Ilulisat was a reasonable price and well organised. There was an issue with the flight from Nuuk being cancelled because of the weather, but they re-booked it and found a hotel and re-arranged the itinerary. The Artic hotel was great and the trip to Disko bay definitely a highlight.

Greenland Travel made a dream come true!

I'm not a widely travelled person, but Greenland has always been somewhere I've been fascinated by and interested in visiting. After writing a book set in the Arctic circle and selling it to a major publisher, I decided I didn't have an excuse any more: I had to finally visit and see the Arctic for myself.

Enter Greenland Travel! This was my first time booking through a tour group, and will not be my last. Greenland Travel ensured everything ran smoothly and stress-free. Our flights were well organised (Air Greenland offered wonderful hospitality) and our hotels in both Nuuk and Ilulissat were fantastic, especially Hotel Arctic, with its breath-taking views of Disko Bay. The included breakfasts at both hotels were also far better than we expected, and excellent fuel for a full day of adventure.

The excursions were well planned and fun, and all of the local guides were wonderful; friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly loved what they did. Our Northern Lights safari on the final night in Ilulissat was particularly special - I'll never forget it.

Greenland Travel were very good at communicating and happy to answer any questions we had - at one point we wandered into the office in Nuuk just to ask for suggestions on what else to do in the city, and were directed to a spot with a beautiful view.

One of our excursions was cancelled due to the weather (Northern Lights cruise in Nuuk) and this was conveyed to us in excellent time; we received a refund for it far quicker than I imagined once we returned home!

Greenland was hands down the most beautiful place I've ever visited, and my wife and I enjoyed our trip so much we're already considering returning for a summer visit, to see what the different season has to offer! We will definitely be booking through Greenland Travel if we do.

Beautiful country, opportunity to see how locals live in a harsh climate. Whales and icebergs are highlights of the tour.

We have been travelling with our 3 years old daughter and Greenland Travel and all guides were happy about it, they didn't say anything like "she is too young" which can apply in some other companies. This meant a lot for us. They had baby beds everywhere.

The progamm was tight but very good we choosed to do all activities and we were lucky with the weather. We did the 12 days tour and we got to move a lot but saw different places and this was enriching. The restaurants of the accomodations we stayed in were exquisite. I would really recommend them to everyone wanting to visit Greenland.

Everything ran exactly as planned and super efficient. Staff was very helpful throughout and answer all our questions. High quality product in an amazing place

Great, everything in order from our 1st day arriving to the end of our departure. Even though there is delay of one of the day due to bad weather where plane is cancelled.

My trip to Greenland was a magic experience, and a memorable positive one.
The arrival at Kangerlussuaq was a bit confusing as I could not see the guide,so was a bit lost & a bit shocked about the group size and the main focus on the Danish language speaking participants. However once we got to Ilulisaat that all changed & I was very impressed how it was all organized & working like clockwork & the groups for the individual events were just the right size & one still had plenty time to do something independently. Always a rep available for Questions. Cant ask for more

Det har været en stor oplevelse at komme til Ilulissat og være der. Det er første gang vi rejser med jer, men er ret skuffet over jeres manglende tilstedeværelse under hele opholdet. Især når en hjemflyvning aflyses og vi skal retur til Ilulissat. Ingen fortæller os hvad der skal ske da vi er retur, og vi venter i lufthavnen i timer uden at nogle få reel information. Nu er vi retur i Søndre Strømfjord, og samme gentager sig. Vi finder ud af vi skal indkvarteres på 664 og bussen kører kl 19.00 En venlig gæst fra selskabet siger at bussen vist er udskudt til kl 20. I er ikke jeres opgave voksen, og er totalt usynlige gennem 8 dage. SØLLE
indkvarteringen i Søndre Strømfjord, på en usselt nedslidt vandrehjem, hvor værelset er så lille at en af vores 2 kufferter ikke kan være udslået. Der stinker i hele området af diesel og der er ikke noget reelt at se, ud over indlandsisen.
I Søndre Strømfjord kører vi rundt i en +40 år gammel Setra-bus, som har defekte bagbremser, utæt bremsesystem for bremsekredsen, dieselolie lækker og den sviner miljøet osv. Jeg er uddannet mekaniker i dette mærke, og når så en Albatros guide som ikke har erfaring bumler rundt med gæster, og undskylder, vurderer jeg det ikke er ansvarligt - trods de relative lave hastigheder. Bussen vil ikke kunne gå gennem et syn i Danmark.
Jeg kan ikke på den baggrund anbefale nogen at rejse med jer, for I er der ikke generelt eller når vi har brug for jer. Topas mf evner at give os en god oplevelse, også når noget kokser - ikke jer.

My holiday to Greenland was an experience not to be forgotten, as the landscape and nature on both land and sea are awe aspiring beyond what I am able to describe, as well as the Greenlandic culture which is very different to the modern western culture that takes time to understand and appreciate coming from an industrial and commercial society.

However, I found the local Greenlandic people to be always friendly and courteous, which made this holiday very special for my wife and myself.

On our initial arrival in Kangerlussuaq airport we were met by a young Danish man standing with a sign for Polar Lodge, who was supposed to help us on our first night to arrive at our accommodation to Polar Lodge. However, we found him to be very unhelpful to the point of being what appeared to be intentionally confusing. We found this to be a very unprofessional approach and consider his behavior as unacceptable! We strongly recommend that he is sent back to Denmark to find a job there instead, as he is NOT suitable to work as the first point of contact for first time visitors to Greenland and where it is irresponsible for Greenland Travel to continue to maintain this person in any such position of responsibility for future visitors to Greenland.

There were also a couple of mishaps in the program that created confusion which Greenland Travel need to pay attention to regarding (2) information meetings that were cancelled without any notification:
1. The first day of our arrival in Kangerlussuaq on the 28 June 2022, where we enquired about at Polar Lodge but there was no one to provide us with any information.
2. On our arrival in Illimanaq on the 1 July 2022, that we enquired about at Illimanaq Lodge and again neither was any one able to help us.

These information meetings were scheduled in our itinerary where we were expecting to receive key information and orientation about forthcoming activities, that left the whole group that we were travelling with quite confused. There appears to have been missing some local management from World of Greenland that needs to be followed up on.

Our stay at Hotel Disko Bay in Qasigiannguit was pleasant and the cuisine was good, particularly the evening meals.

During a part of our journey we were guided by a tour operator by the name of Disko Bay Tours, managed by a couple Nevi and Frank who sailed the tour boats. Nevi was the guide and is an excellent and educated and a very friendly person beyond expectation, who explained about the Greenlandic culture, the traditions and the colonial past of Greenland in a very sincere and respectful manner. Both my wife and I fell in love with her.

In Qasigiannguit and Ilimanaq we found the local guides who are relatively young to be open and friendly. However due to the missing information meetings, it was sometimes difficult to obtain more detailed information about the planned activities over and above the information in the travel itinerary.

When we arrived in Ilulissat on the 4 July 2022 and after a local tour of the town, we went up to receive our room at the Hotel Arctic at 1400 hours, where er were informed by the hotel reception that our room would not be available until 1700 hours. Being that we were very tired, we insisted on receiving our room without any further delay. After some further discussion, the problem was resolved expediently by the hotel manager, which we were most grateful for.

On our final day, we learned in the morning that our return flight from Kangerlussuaq to Denmark was cancelled due to poor weather conditions. According to our travel plans, we flew from Ilulissat to Kangerlussuaq where we were met at the airport by a guide from the World of Greenland who ensured that we received dinner and were accommodated for the night with our luggage and then booked onto a new flight the following day to Denmark, including breakfast at the airport and a food coupon for the airport cafeteria. In general, I believe that everyone that had been delayed were very happy with the service level provided by Greenland Travel and World of Greenland to resolve the delay in a highly professional manner and return everyone to Denmark the following day. This was very well managed by the World og Greenland.

Overall, this holiday met and even exceeded our expectations in discovering this amazing location.

A corner of paradise which must be deserved! The arctic expereince offers the stunning view of ice, icebergs, snow and sea but also the muti colored houses of the inhabitants, their warmth and their smile. Arctic hotel is perfect! Delays due to snow storm was handled very professionnally by Air Greenland and Greeland travel.
A destination where active people can enjoy hiking and discovery!

My husband and I wanted to visit Greenland, but couldn't find just the right tour. Greenland Travel's offerings were close, but not exactly what we were looking for. Then we learned about their custom-made tours and Lars Thorning. We told Lars what we were hoping to do and experience, what kind of travelers we are and how much we wanted to spend. He came up with the trip we just took and it was excellent. I highly recommend this company. They are professional and personal.

It is a helpful and experienced company. And they could design the activity based on your requirement.
Before our trip, the representative has discussed with me over 30 emails. She explained the tour and designed the tour with me patiently and in detailed. It could make us have the most suitable trip for me.

It's amazing journey to explore ICELAND different location to see mysterious volcano, powerful waterfall, lovely hot springs, beautiful lake and landscape. GREENLAND travel is a good company with reliable services and we will not hesitate to recommend anyone to hire their services.

A guided tour to the highlights of Greenland. perfect organized, with a cheery danish travelguide keeping the group, even with us two Germans, in a good mood, giving us many informations about the country.

From my reading, looking at photos and glowing recommendation of 2 friends, I was pumped to go to Greenland. When my husband and I waited 4 weeks and still couldn't get on a cruise, I started surfing the web and found Greenland Travel. They had the tour we wanted...lots of hiking and a variety of locations with all transport, accommodations and breakfasts included. It looked good on my computer screen. Tom Jensen in the main office was very easy to communicate with and we were booked very quickly. Once we started in Reykjavik, things could not have gone smoother. Six people and the tour was still a go despite a brochure minimum of 8. John Holler was a superb guide with a thorough knowledge of the history, art, peoples, plants and geography of the country plus a passion for it all. He had a good sense of what we wanted and adapted accordingly.
Greenland for me was staggering in its beauty, size, remoteness and rawness. I have never felt so overwhelmed by a wild place before, and I have been to many. Its obvious to me that Greenland Travel knows Greenland and how to run top notch tours there. Thank you Greenland Travel for one of the best travel experiences of my life.
