I am a senior level sales professional. I know how to get the job once I get the interview, but what Don does is GETS ME THE INTERVIEW.

I recently decided to change jobs. I called Don. (Again!)

I believe strongly in making the best first impression, and I needed to have the acronyms and relevant talking points, as well as experience and information presented in the most professional and positive light possible.

It took me less than 5 days..... FIVE DAYS... to get the call for the job I never thought I would get. Don opened the door and I did the rest, but that door opening is the most important part. You can have NO MISTAKES, no mis-spellings, nothing that is wrong on a resume these days.

This is my third time working with Don. Each time he has far surpassed my expectations and I have gotten the job, a better job.

I recommend him highly. (and trust me, the money is so well spent in investing in yourself and your career). The resume did not get me the job, I did that. But it opened the door for me. And that was all I needed.

There is a 'HUGE' differential between an English major verses a Technology major writing your resume for your next job.

I was apprehensive about using a service to write my resumes. However, the resume I was previously using was created nearly 30 years ago (updated over time) for a high school class. While appropriate at the time, it had been made horribly obsolete by the changing times. I researched several writers prior to deciding to go with About Jobs. My first encounter with them was with company president, Don Goodman. Don was direct but courteous in trying to determine my needs and also, whether he meant to or not, provided me with significant guidance as I am considering a career change. He did "up sell" me a bit, but in reality all he did was lead me in a direction that I was already headed in. In the end, I received only the items I wanted and, other than the original "up sell" (which any good salesman should do), there was absolutely no additional pressure to purchase more services - we agreed on the terms and moved forward with the job.

One issue that I did encounter is that, if I recall correctly, About Jobs advertises that all resumes are written by Don. This was not what occurred for me. My resumes were assigned to another writer and final approval was given by Don. That surprised me at first. However, as I thought about it, it did not seem reasonable that one person could write all resumes, that there must be others used that fit a particular skill set. That said, my assigned writer, Paula, was outstanding to work with. She was very responsive, kept me in the loop as to progress and timelines, and met all of the deadlines she and I set. Additionally, Paula was very willing to work with me on some tricky verbiage to arrive at a product that would work for me and my situation.

All and all, this was a good experience and I got exactly what I wanted - the tools to compete in today's job market. I would strongly recommend About Jobs to anyone in the market for a professionally written resume.

The interview and questionnaire were very thorough. However, I am switching careers and following advice. Therefore asking me to pick a job description that best fits me is a little like shooting in the dark. I called with one career in mind, that I had researched well, and was suggested another I had not considered at all. However, the two have some similarities so all should be good.
