I was referred to Got The Job by my sister, who had a great experience. After reviewing their products, I had questions about how the process worked. I must say, Got The Job is a fantastic organization. Because of some fairly unique circumstances and where I am located in the world, I emailed the general delivery box, and received a reply within a very short period of time (lag was due to timezone differences). My reply came from the president of the organization! Talk about customer service! When my resume was assigned to the writer, communication was constant and very informative and professional. After providing the requested documentation (plus some extra), we made arrangements to speak via telephone. Living in Japan, my resume writer called me, saving me some serious expense. Within 24 hours of speaking, I had a 90% solution in my hands for review. In all honesty, it was closer to a 98% solution.

Having purchased the Silver package, after approving the Resume, I was provided with suggested information for linkedin. Being frank, the content suggested was a significant improvement. I haven't had any additional views on my profile, yet; however, I edited it yesterday. Time will tell how effective it is.

Conducting a military to civilian transition isn't easy. It's even harder when you're trying to write your own resume. You may be great at writing for or about other folks; however, writing about yourself is difficult. Got The Job and Paula (the writer assigned to me) did a fantastic job.

I purchased a resume package back in early 2015, and then some personal matters came up and I also took a promotion, so I didn't need a resume until recently. I submitted my documents on 7/11 and About Jobs did not give me any hassles at all, even though I bought the package months ago. They didn't even charge me extra despite the fact that my career position had just gone up and I should have been paying more, which was really nice. My writer was intelligent and quick to respond to all of my questions about my resume and LinkedIn, and she sent me a first draft the very next day following my phone interview. I receive my finalized resume last Friday (so took 4 days total to complete, but that includes 2 rounds of edits) and I am already seeing results - I had an interview today and I have two more already scheduled! I really did not expect that quick of a turnaround, so I am pleasantly surprised :)

I've had an absolutely terrible experience with this company. Avoid at all costs! I paid for their resume service which was definitely more expensive than their competitors, but I figured I would get what I paid for so I opted for them. Two weeks after purchasing the service, I got my first draft of resume and cover letter. Both were full of typos and incorrect grammar. Why am I paying $300+ to proofread and correct not only grammar but typos. Come on. It has been over a month to get my "final product" and even the final product they sent me has incorrect grammar. When I wrote to them to let them know I was unsatisfied for the service they were providing they didn't care, just asked who my writer was so they could get that person in trouble and offered me no reconciliation. DO NOT use their service unless you want to spend over a month waiting for their product which is so generic you can find the templates online and want to proofread for both typos and grammar. Also their customer service is terrible so don't expect to get anything from them. Awful.

Over the years, I have used a number of different resume services. About Jobs is easily the best company that I have used. I liked the fact that they spent a lot of time (both questionnaire and phone interview) learning about me. I had no doubt that they understood what I needed.

I can't tell you how impressed and pleased I was with GotTheJob services.

At first I was hesitant to have someone I didn't know write my resume and coverletter because I feared that it would look like my old resume. Not so. I started the process by filling out a questionnaire that asked me detailed questions about what I'm doing in my current job and what I've done at prior jobs.

After that, a senior writer interviewed me and asked me questions about what I wrote in the questionnaire, and also asked me for a verbal description as to what I was really looking for. I gave example job titles, and even gave an example job position online. This is important---when you write a resume, it has to be geared towards the position or at least TYPE of position you are applying for. You have to let the employer know that you know something about the position and that you actually read what the job entails.

The short amount of time that it takes you to fill out the questionnaire and participating in the 20min interview is WELL WORTH IT. This is because you might be spending months spinning your wheels with a lack-of-luster resume like I did. It's not that I had a lot of negative feedback in the past---I just wasn't getting ANY feedback---employers and hiring managers would never get back to me at all, even after making a follow-up phone call to make sure they received my application materials, which was infinitely frustrating.

I was impressed with how the senior writer understood what I wrote in the questionnaire and how she incorporated everything into the new resume and coverletter. I'm able to read my resume now and actually feel proud of the work I've done. As of a day ago, I just started applying for jobs using the new documents from GotTheJob, so we'll see what happens.

The particular package I purchased included a resume and coverletter in Word format, directions on how to use your package, a document that gave a list of job websites, a larger document with tips on how to land a job, and importantly, text versions of your resume. Why is this text version important? Because oftentimes, when you apply for a job online, the organization/firm won't allow you to upload these documents from a directory. In the case where you need to copy and paste your resume or coverletter into a field, you can do that by copying what's in the TEXT FILE that GotTheJob gives you and pasting it into the appropriate field. If you just copy and paste from a Word document, it's not going to look right.
