I purchased a car through Zuto, with Go Car Credit as the lender. I collected the vehicle on 25 April, and it was faulty from day one due to a DPF issue. I reported the fault immediately and exercised my legal right to reject the vehicle. My complaint was acknowledged on 27 April, but the car wasn’t collected until 21 May.
Since then, the experience with Go Car Credit has been appalling.
Communication has been virtually non-existent. Every time I’ve called, I’ve been given the same excuse—that they’re “waiting for funds from the dealer”—yet nobody has proactively contacted me or kept me updated. I’ve repeatedly asked for written confirmation and email updates, only to be told I “don’t need them.” On the rare occasion I was told an email would be sent, it never arrived.
As of 19 July, I have still not received a single meaningful update from Go Car Credit. To put this into perspective, I collected the car on 25 April, it was unusable from day one, it was collected back on 21 May, and nearly two months later I’ve heard absolutely nothing.
To make matters worse, I also asked for my finance payments to be paused while this was being resolved, as I no longer had the vehicle. That request was simply ignored.
This has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re considering using Go Car Credit, I’d strongly urge you to think carefully. A lender should communicate with its customers, especially when there’s an ongoing dispute involving a faulty vehicle. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them and would be extremely cautious about doing business with them.

John : Go Car Credit (Complaints Team)
I purchased a car through Zuto, financed by Go Car Credit. Unfortunately I had problems with the vehicle immediately, reporting faults on day 3 and returning to the dealership for repairs on day 7. The dealership didn't fix the car correctly and the head gasket blew on day 28. The dealership disappeared and refused to respond to any attempts made to contact them, which left Zuto with no other choice but to take responsibulty for the vehicle.
John from the Go Car Credit complaints team has been absolutely amazing and so helpful! He communicated with me, during the whole process of rejecting the vehicle, whilst liasing with Zuto, with the aim of finding a solution, and to ultimately conclude and close my case.
He arranged for the refunds of any payments I made towards the vehicle, also reimbursed 9 weeks of public transport fees that I had had to pay whilst without a vehicle, and even kindly awarded me compensation for my inconvenience.
I decided against going with Zuto again for a replacement vehicle and Go Car Credit were happy to finance me directly, providing me with a list of reputable and reliable garages, from which I was able to source a suitable vehicle for my family.
I couldn't be more delighted and reassured by the kindness and patience John and his team have showed me. They were happy to help and the constant communication throughout the experience was excellent.
