Just visited applwood farm and had a great meal with the family can't fault the food and the service was impeccable especially from Georgia who couldn't help us enough and was a pleasure.

Wrong order delivered ie half missing. No refund, no items replaced. Contacted by a manager who offered a replacement meal. Drove from Culcheth to Worsley to collect to be told by Geraldine (another manager who couldn't even confirm the phone number) to go away as she knew nothing about it. Wouldn't trust her to clean the toilet nevermind manage a pub. Rude, offensive & 40 mins wasted. Contacted again by manager to offer replacement meal. Seriously ? Jokers ! AVOID

When I visited the renter aunt at Astley we were served by a young lady called Mia who was very pleasant and efficient. She made our evening very pleasant and would return again.

On arrival at Applewood today, our usual table was occupied.
Shortly after sitting down Connor approached us and told us that our usual table was now available and he had cleaned it and got it ready for us.
Top notch service!
He is such a lovely young man.

A regular to the Carvery at Farmhouse Inn's best kept secret - Westgate Farm in Edinburgh. An ample car park alongside the restaurant and bar that are always immaculate. With a warm welcome from hostess Lorna to a home cooked meal, a choice of roast joints and an array of healthy vegetables, finished off by a range of desserts including ice creams that are too tempting to resist. A joy to eat here, the setting, food and service always outstanding.

Called in for breakfast. Worst we've experienced in a very long time. Curled bacon cooked on one side only, eggs very hard with shell deposits three hash browns soaked in fat. In fact not one item was properly edible. Even the toast was hard. We did enjoy the cappuchino!

What a lovely pub! the Carvery was absolutely delicious really hot and fresh, really enjoyed every bite. You can tell the chefs care about what they do as everything was literally perfect. Thank you Applewood team for such a wonderful visit!

I regularly visit this chain of restaurant pubs for meals when out and about and usually have no problems and I hate to complain about anything but if you don't then things can never be improved. The last few times at both Applewood and Barley farm the carvery has been very disappointing, either dried and stodgy food or it's cold. Today I visited Applewood farm at 5pm and on arrival found the front half of the restaurant had all the tables reserved (apparently for quiz night) so after searching for a few minutes a staff member showed me to the section which was available to sit. The service was fine as I ordered my food and coffee and I collected my food from the carvery then sat at my table with my coffee already delivered there. I had the roast beef, then added boiled, roast and mash potato, sprouts, cauliflower and the mixed carrots and suede then the onion gravy. Unfortunately, 90% of it was very barely warm and the only saving grace was that the gravy was red hot which enabled me to eat most of what I had chosen although I could not cut through the roast potato so left them. I visited Pinetree farm recently and noticed their carvery staff using heat probes which allowed them to replace any dishes which were no longer hot, perhaps this should be done if not already in place or more often if it is. While at my table I also noticed that it had not been wiped clean between customers as I could see the dried stains where all the previous diners plates and drinks had been placed. With only a small section of the seating open it should be easy to make sure the tables there are cleaned properly. 😞

Monday night quiz at applewood is one of favourite nights of the week the atmosphere is absolutely amazing and we come back every week for it the staff and food are fantastic we would definitely recommend

This is a chain of Inns using this website as a group. My review is about Walnut Tree Farm in Southampton, where the standards have gone down since the Pandemic.

The food was of good standard, but today there was with the vinegar decanter, where the vinegar ran out, congealed vinegar that looked and smelled like something disgusting fell into the food.

After making the complaint, all they could do was offer free puddings to take away, but saying it would have been perfectly ok. It was not perfectly ok, the vinegar must have been so old in that decanter, and more and more topped up over the years without ever cleaning the decanter. How old does vinegar have to be to congeal?

The meal was hot and very nice the only thing wrong you couldn't go back to the carvery and have a bit more veg all other carverys I've been to you could .this one is the Riverside farm in Nottingham

My wife and I had an excellent breakfast yesterday at Westgate Farm, Gyle Broadway, Edinburgh. We were shown to our seats promptly and then ordered the full English. The sausages and bacon tasted great (turns out they're supplied by Campbell's) and the mushrooms, hash browns, black pudding, etc was really tasty, and not heavy on the fat or oils as most of it grilled. Fantastic value (includes limitless coffee and toast) and friendly staff. We will be back!

Me, my fiancée and our 8 month old baby visited Berry Brook Farm on two occasions within a week of each other. Our experiences were not perfect but our visits were enjoyable and we will be returning.

Just a few things that prevented me giving full star review, the first being the highchairs out in the seating area for customers to use. Due to covid-19 we use Milton wipes for out babys seat for extra precaution, the highchair we used on the first visit was filthy but the second visit we tried two high chairs and found both were broken which meant we were unable to secure our baby.

The other thing that stopped me from giving full stars was the error with ordering. We decided to have table service instead of using the app, our order was taken and when it arrived i was given the wrong food. I had ordered a chicken burger but was given a beef burger instead. This meant my fiancée was waiting to eat with me for quite some time before my order returned to me.

The third thing which affected the rating was the baby food on the menu, i ordered a baby's Heinz pasta shapes meal and the menu clearly states HEINZ, however when it was brought to the table we were given normal boiled pasta with a pasta sauce on the side and a cheese sauce on the side. This was not adequate enough to feed our baby so ended up having him cry for almost the duration of the visit.

These small things may seem petty to some but when it comes to reviews it could be better service. I hope the next visit i can award you 5 stars.

Went to applewood at Astley Manchester last night and it was a wonderful experience. From firstly sitting outside and having a few cocktails the staff was super helpful. And mark who took our orders was a pleasure and super friendly.

We went in for food and sat in a booth table service was great and the staff was fabulous and friendly.

Being a transgender woman i never have issue eating out or going out and felt very welcomed.

Everyone was sticking to the rules of masks and distancing.

We had carvery dinners and every single vegetable was fresh and red hot and that goes for something when I’ve had many bad experiences in carvery style restaurants before of cold food or over cooked veg.

The meat selection was yummy and meat was lovely and moist. The girl who served me with blue finger nails was super cheerful and friendly.

I even had A few lovely comments from
Staff over my nails.

I took huge selection of cakes ways home with me and two friends. And they are also lovely and fantastic portion sizes.

All I can say is staff are doing there very best to keep everyone in a safe environment while still being very welcoming and accommodating.

I will definitely be returning in the future.
