Hungry Horse Recenzje 

I came into Ellesmere Port Cheshire oaks hungry horse today with my two young children. I have been going through a tough time recently and the waiter who served me (Andrew) couldn’t do enough for me and even sat down for a chat to let me vent what was going on and made me feel really good about things going on in my life and related to things himself which made me feel not alone. He really looked after all three of us and was really tentative to my two kids aswell speaking so kindly to both of them and bringing them whatever they wanted to go with their meal and making their dessert extra special. Best experience I have ever had with a waiter in any restaurant, credit to Cheshire oaks hungry horse!

We come to the Seagull most Sundays, as our football team is based there. We usually sit in the garden. Staff are very attentive to the lads and us followers, especially Harriett as she is constantly in and out bringing the lads constant stream of food and drinks, they order from the table. We're awaiting a decision from management to decide if they can sponsor the team or not, as they are called the Portchester Seagulls.

Chicken burger fat tasted old. The beef burger was not very hot, it definitely hadnt just come off any griddle, it was cooked previously and warmed up to just above tepid, not long enough in the microwave. The texture, when cut into, was crumbly like rusk, not at all meaty....though the menu doesn't claim to be anything other that a burger!....it doesn't state any percentage. A mc Donald's burger at least tastes of beef. I couldnt think of a better comparison. The chicken breast, awful, had a wierd smell, not off,but just wierd. It had an unusual texture, wettish strands of meat....clearly injected with water and whatever else. I've seen this stuff in the wholesalers, about 55% meat. Awful, like the texture of an ocean stick. I've cooked enough 100 percent Chicken breast,every which way, to know the difference. Hot plates would help the 'just warm enough when it arrives' meals, to at least stay warm. Hot meal, hot plate. The plate would not have saved these meals. Very poor quality food. Did not enjoy at all.

My wife and myself popped in on a wednesday because we were staying the at local premier inn and didn't like the menu
Wow,, what a difference the drink menu was varied the food menu was large and varied and the staff were great, we had chicken sizzlers and a gammon steak meal and both were excellent, big thank you to Andrew , Maria and Tara for making this night a really good one

Very poor service at Victoria Cross, separate bar has priority ordering drinks over waiting to be served for food in main restaurant till area. Lack of staff running both sides. Carried on serving new customers wanting drinks rather than in order.
When spoke to lady delivering food she said she can’t help as she’s delivering which I understand. But then said the other bar lady’s flustered. Gave up waiting.

Popped in for breakfast to be greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. Liam dealt with my variation of a breakfast efficiently and consideration. Served warm and yimely and confirmed politely to be in order. Highly recommend a breakfast with quality and service st Hungry Horse. 5 star

Ryan and Harry are always very polite and helpful, and great assets to Hungry Horse.
They go out of their way to provide great service!

Can I just say, the two staff members working on 28th Sept 2026 at Hungry Horse Mount Pleasant Walsgrave (i think their names were Dani & Maddie?) were so polite and went out of their way to help my Mum and i get our dinner intime so we could make it to the cinema, despite the pub being over run with a group of rowdy people that evening causing carnage and trashing the place. They were very apologetic and their service was impeccable, especially when they were on their own and doing their best to keep up with orders. Because of these two ladies (and the chef!) we will 100% be returning to this pub for meals in the future. The food was lovely and hot too. Those ladies deserve a bonus! X

The staff are all friendly, I’ve had multiple great experiences here , the food is always great and affordable, the atmosphere is always good , the live sports are on definitely give the seagull a go

I Visited the millhouse Saturday 10th October, evening time. I could not say a bad word about my experience. The food was lovely, I really enjoyed my meal, hence the review. I would also like to mention our server Harry was very polite and communicated with us well, specially as I am blind.
Thank you for a enjoyable meal. 😊
