No refunds even when the theaters make mistakes
I ordered movie tickets through their website. I went to the wrong movie theater across the street from the other theater. They checked my tickets and let me enter, we purchased over $150 worth of food/refreshments which took over 30 minutes to make. Once the food was ready, we tried to watch the movie and they had a different movie on, we went to guest services and they informed us that we were at the wrong theater and they were incorrect in letting us in. We went to the other theater but there was only about 30 minutes left of the movie so we asked for a refund and they told us we have to go through fandango since we purchased the tickets from them. The website would not allow us to get a refund as the movie had already started. Spending almost $300 and not getting to watch a movie is ridiculous. They refuse to give refunds for any reason, even when the movie theaters make mistakes.
Terrible customer service
I used fandango to purchase tickets for the Formula One live Miami Grand Prix IMAX. Fandango did not email their customers of the time change, therefore customers lost out on the experience. Do not use fandango, get your tickets straight from Regal or AMC app. Furthermore, customer service is not doing anything to compensate for the massive inconvenience.

I purchased tickets for $66. I was five minutes late for my movie time due to parking and car going into limp mode. I was told I couldn’t see movie and that I could get a refund on my advanced purchased tickets, if I bought new tickets for another movie time. They kept my $66 and I spent $44 for the new tickets so I ended up spending $110 for a movie for 3 people. Stay away!

What others have said about their unwillingness to help or fix any issues is absolutely true. Over the course of many years, I have only attempted to contact customer support 3 times. I say "attempt" because they NEVER actually return your message or help in any way. This most recent issue was about a rental that was supposed to be a purchase. I contacted them immediately and no one ever returned my message. I was finally able to connect with someone on the chat service only to be told they wouldn't help because it was outside of the rental window. I CONTACTED THEM IMMEDIATELY. But because they refused to help me, the window closed. Worst business ever. Like another reviewer said, they're crooks. My suggestion, find another streaming service that actually wants to keep their customers.
Fandango take no responsibility for their own web glitches
I purchased 3 tickets for Super Mario about 30 minutes before the movie started. Took my 2 grandkids. Got to the theatre but the tickets were still not in my inbox though a ticket purchase confirmation was. Went to the box office & was told that I should purchase a 2nd set of seats from them and that Fandango would refund me the $80. I did and we raced in so as not to miss the beginning. $150 for 3 movie seats???
As soon as the movie was over I called Fandango but was informed that I would have had to cancel the seats before the show started. I filed a complaint with AMEX but Fandango refuses to reimburse me saying their policy is that all cancellations must take place before the film starts. Never mind that I didn't HAVE the tickets.

I purchased a movie ticket from Fandango and received the text confirming it. Today, a few hours before the movie, received emails and text asking if I wanted to buy drinks or food? (Glad I did not!)
When I got to the theatre, clicked on the link, only to get an error message that Fandango is not available outside of the USA - except I was in Iowa. I tried to text them, only to receive a message that the service was not available. Tried to get a refund and was told the ticket could not be refunded. Needless to say I have no plans to ever use Fandango again.

Looks like there's not even one good positive review for Fandango. My experience exactly. I did the 7-day trial to avoid fees and also called Fandando but the person could not understand why fees were charges but said if I just paid it, they would be reimbursed. Since that time, I have called3-4 time (getting a case number on the first call). Each call thereafter, they are "escalating it because the first one didn't go through." Right.

When we arrived to the theatre to check in, they could not accept the tickets and said the website had purchased them for a theatre in a whole other state! They told me to repurchase at the counter and that I could get a refund after the show. When I went to contact customer service, fandango refuses to take any responsibility for the website glitch and refused to refund me, because their policy states you can’t get a refund after the show start time. How would your customers have the opportunity to correct this issue with customer service inside the theater within minutes of showtime? In my opinion their customer service is performative and policies do not reflect reality. What a scam.

I am extremely frustrated with Fandango after my experience at Ivon Movie Theater. I purchased tickets through the Fandango app, but when I arrived, the theater refused to let me in due to a "15-minute no-entry late policy." Even though the movie hadn't actually started yet (only previews were playing), I was turned away at the door.
The biggest issue is that this critical policy was nowhere to be found on Fandango’s website or during the checkout process. Fandango acts as the middleman, yet they fail to communicate theater-specific rules that can literally bar you from the show you paid for. To make matters worse, despite being denied entry through no fault of my own, I was never refunded my money.
According to Fandango's Ticket Policy, they do not set showtimes or control theater operations, but that doesn't excuse them from failing to disclose these "trap" policies. If they can’t provide accurate information about the theaters they sell for, they shouldn't be selling the tickets. I’m out the cost of my tickets and a night out. Avoid using this service if you want any guarantee of actually getting into your movie or getting your money back if things go wrong.

Hmm, might have used Fandango at Home if I could have created an account. But apparently, the Fandango account I use to buy movie tickets at a physical theater can't be used to buy Fandango at Home movies, AND I can't use my email account I use to buy physical tickets to create a Fandango at Home account. I have to create a whole fricking new email account to create a Fandango at Home account. Y'all are Luddites!

Their system logged me out of my Fanclub account on the way to buy tickets and they wouldn't refund the service fees even 5 minutes later, after I noticed the fees on the email confirmation. Shady AF.
VERY MUCH concerned with the share tickets link
VERY MUCH concerned with the 'easy' share-your-ticket button on the app. [ fand.co / 1234abc ] is way too guessable (only 7-characters), and hides almost nothing of my personal information in the resulting ticket confirmation page. NO OTHER levels of authentication. Not even a login page, not behind a set of 2FA hand-wavy bullcrap. So movie location, my home ZIP, last 4 digits of my debit card, my name, my email address.. even the equally open link to the ticket barcode itself - it's all in plaintext right there just from visiting an extremely short link. Lovely!
Oh and because I can view sourcecode, I'm finding a lot of other personal information embedded as extremely plaintext javascript, not even obfuscated or partially hidden behind some fancy JS objects that I or an automated script would have to dig around to find.. Just guess that initial 7-character link and you're golden!~

Ripped off on gift card
Just had them request my CREDIT CARD INFO. by their customer service for a problem with a GIFT CARD. Said they couldn't investigate the fraud unless I gave then that info. I refused and now I have just been ripped off for $35.

Just before the movie started, the movie theater closed the theater/room. Fandango won't refund because it's now after. That simple. Disputing with my credit card company. I wish there was anything at all I could do to not use Fandango any more.
