They’re ok getting the system installed but getting salt out of them, getting an answer to when salt will be available, getting them to return the calls they promise to return is all impossible. We currently have a very expensive canister under our sink doing sweet FA. I would run a mil if I had read these reviews prior to purchase, I hope you don’t make the same mistake.

I would avoid buying any products from this company.

Following a service on the filter our showers stopped working, we reported this to EWT who on first call out suggested it could be the water pressure, Irish Water confirmed the water pressure was not particularly high, so called EWT again to ask to replace the filter, the engineer came out and advised there was nothing wrong with the filter and it didn’t need replacing, the issue with the showers was not down to the filter.

We resorted to calling out a plumber who was able to confirm severe resin build up in the showers was due to the water filter not working properly. When we reported this to EWT first call was disconnected and called again to speak to the manager with no call back. So we have had to fork out for a service which was a waste of time and money in addition to paying the cost of a plumber and the inconvenience of no working showers in the house.

We will be using another company going forward and following other reviews it does look like we are not alone.

I have been calling for a service since mid March and it's now July. I have an annual service contract which I pay monthly for. I have phoned numerous times, I have emailed, I am not permitted to speak with a supervisor or manager, I can't send a request through the website as it keeps telling me all fields must be completed and they are. Everyone promises to call me back with a service date.. Never happens.

I have been calling to get an engineer appointment for the last 3 weeks with no joy, I went ahead to pay for an engineer visit and salt online. My softener has broken down and has been clogging the pipes that supply the house and messed up the pressure of the water that runs into the house as you can feel the particles of the salt, how do we go about reporting this CRAP company, need to get in the regulators as they can sit on monies paid for their services and salt bags without any response. RUBBISH COMPANY MOST LIKELY AVIOD

Water softener still excellent and does a great job but every year have problems in getting my annual service appointment which gets put further and further back each year so I am paying much more and don't get refunded for these excess months' payments. This year it has taken over 6 months to get my annual service booked and I am still awaiting the refund of excess premiums. When I call, the line cuts off at just over 4 minutes and on the odd occasion that I manage to speak to someone they promise that somebody from the accounts team will call back within 24 hours and they never do. What a shambles, sort yourselves out EWT

Waiting for salt and service for over 2 months, still no appointment given. Won't be dealing with this company again

Those guys are the worst in Ireland I would say! Impossible to get true to them. If you do you get nowhere. Only promises no action. I’m trying to get them to come out for last 4 weeks keep changing the dates keep telling the lies… so many people o know have many problems with them I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy…

Dreadful service and extremely expensive
This company has been recently been bought by another firm and rebranded- they have also increased their prices by almost 50%. I paid €180 for a water filter replacement and a five minute check to be carried out - I pay half that amount to get my boiler serviced - even getting my car serviced is less expensive than that. What a complete rip off !!!! It also took over a month to get an appointment for a service. Go elsewhere if you live in a hard water area and are thinking of buying a water softener!

I ordered my service on 10th May and at the time I was advised 2 weeks approx wait time. 3.5 weeks later I had no update; I live in an area which has extremely hard water and I got this installed particularly because of underfloor heating and to protect my appliances. I spoke to Customer Care 31 May and was advised I would hear back at least by end of next working day - I gave them 2 additional working days before I emailed with photos of my appliances full of lime. In this email I was advised by Care Team that the service is still working and it isn't a problem - perhaps they should have checked that first as the salt was not going down - then they told me to add warm water and break it up with a brush - that does not work... this was 7th June - still no appointment date or communication.
Whatever is going on in EWT needs to be addressed as you will not have any more customers if this is what you do and how you address "customer care", no follow up, no updates - no ability to even manage expectations if there are issues that are causing your delays. I will be looking at alternatives to EWT and I am going to encourage others where possible to AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Any positive reviews for this company must be FAKE.
At every point they are awful. its hard enough getting in contact with anyone, Prices are ridiculous and went up 57% form last years service. I have credit on my account which i cant use. They can't even confirm water is safe to drink!!! avoid use another company please

An absolutely appalling company.

Their communication is despicable.

Their promises mean nothing.

I have cancelled my standing order to them as have never done what they promised.

Please go elsewhere if you want a water softener

Customer care is a disaster!
Difficult to contact and never returns calls

I made a mistake of buying a drinking water
softening system from EWT few years ago, it needs servicing and replacing cartridges yearly.
You are asked to pay in advance £165 and then an automated system alerts you when the engineer is booked.
This is where problems start, they give an approximate time which means you have to be at home at least half a day, unfortunately you then get a last minute cancellation “due to problems to the engineer’s van”… every year !!!
Try and get in touch with the company but it’s impossible
I’m now going to invest on a new system but this time I’ll thoroughly research and review in advance

Paid for a service of my softener and too nearly 9 weeks before it was done. Flooded the downstairs of my house that night and through many emails, call back requests etc nobody has been in contact over the last 10 weeks, even to acknowledge an email received. Only way to speak is to phone the Dublin office. Asked for supervisor Ryan to call me back and received a very blunt email that they had explained the situation when I contacted yesterday to say technician out and they have pulled strings to get a sister company out next week, can’t do more than that,18 weeks after I paid for my service!
Technician came and had never seen softener before, left without doing anything.
Avoid this company at all costs!!!

I reached to to EWT Water with questions about their water softener and drinking system and the support was excellent. I kept going back with more questions and points for clarification and Abbie, the support agent who attended to me was very patient and detailed helping me decide exactly what I needed for my home without any unnecessary add-ons.

Quick response and polite customer service from Abbie.

Arrogant, useless & stay-clear of kind, of company. I got EWT sofener installed 6years ago & every year they charge a fortune & come for leisure checking if it's working well. Last week the softener broke down as the resin has failed (despite regular inspections whose report never issued to you) and all my water pipes are clogged despite switching it off. Now the fun starts as they can't seem to find an emergency appointment to fix it. Unbelievable that their call centre are not allowed to book appointment. And unsurprisingly their engineers cancel the emergency appointment at leisure.
Good luck if you still decide to go with them.

Does EWT still exists? All my emails to them returned undelivered FATAL ERROR "ACCESS DENIED" .
I have had EWT system, installed some 6 years ago, and their 100% Limescale FREE is not what I have experienced. I have repeatedly complained to David Fordes, but no resolution to even replace the equipment. Giving 0 STAR, but can't rate below 1 STAR.

Hi Mahamud,

Your softener is a very old model and was installed in 2017 therefore it is 7 years old. When a softener is 7 years old we would recommend upgrading.

I have always had very good experience dealing with EWT. We had ordered water softener from EWT. We had an issue where the stop cock was not under the sink. The engineer who had come to fit the softener ((Atila) found a solution and installed without any problems. He was very patient and did a very good job. I had to also call up customer service to book and settle the invoice and the customer service agent (Steph) was very good at resolving the case. Many thanks🤩

Once I got through after 3 attempts I spoke to Abbie.
She is so lovely and extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
