FAILED
I asked ERG to change the nightlatch on my front door. £125.00. After a few days of back and forth, I asked them to supply the lock. £90. The bloke eventually showed up, and it seemed that he had never done this job before. I later learned that the cheap lock he supplied did not conform to BST, thereby rendering my house contents insurance invalid.
2 days later, the snib on the lock stopped working and I was locked inside my house, with no way out, as this door is the only external access. Not a pleasant experience.
When I phoned to complain, they gaily said that they would fix this 'snag' in a period of time up to 30 days, after I handed over my credit/debit card details.
I refused and am now demanding a full refund.
Apparently, putting people's lives at risk, is not of any consequence to these people.

I used this company for Pest Control for my mother's property - DON'T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE! It cost £528, they made 2 very quick visits to set bait traps, did not come back to complete the job, did not finish the job satisfactorily at all, they left holes unblocked for vermin to still enter the property. When I phoned back, they won't go back out, as I am now outwith the 30 day guarantee period. I have phoned 3 times to speak to Customer Services, left a message, and nobody phones back. Dreadful company, dreadful customer service - total waste of a lot of money.

Dreadful company. Complete con. DO NOT BOOK. Called due to an emergency leak. They took my card details before doing the service but promised on the phone not to charge unless the work was done. Plumber failed to turn up on multiple occasions and when someone did appear a week later, don't forget this was an emergency call out, he felt around the toilet then left promising to return with parts. He never did. The company took payment of £174 from my bank regardless and when contacted said they charged for the call out. If I wanted them to do the job I'd have to pay extra. DO NOT USE. They will not fix anything and will charge you a huge amount just for turning up, probably a week late. You will have to hire another firm to actually fix the problem.

Your phone operative had no problem finding my mothers case with the job number provided and your customer service operator said that it was a government requirement to take credit card details before any call took place. This was confirmed that it happened by Amanda in your customer service team.
Refund my mother fully please. If you make the choice not to refund her, then I will have no choice as to report you to trading standards and every council that you work takes place in.

If only I had read these reviews before I used this company. I was desperate, with no heating or hot water. They very quickly got an engineer to me but that's where the good news stops. He switched my boiler on and it worked. Funnily enough it stopped again an hour later. I made the grave mistake of then contacting the local engineer directly who then failed to return. I asked for a refund from ERG who have made ridiculous demands for evidence falling just short of a gold plated report delivered to them on a white charger, adding that I should have returned to them and not contacted the engineer directly. £150 for absolutely nothing. Lesson learned: if you are desperate use a site such as Rated People to find a local person without the company surcharge. I did that when the engineer failed to return and that engineer arrived even quicker than ERGs. Yours £150 poorer.

Called this company for fitting a cooker hood was supposed to come Wed after waiting in around 3pm rang to say the electrician could not make it but would come Thursday, turned up on Thursday looked at the job said it needed a power socket fitting, he said he could not do the job without written permission from the council, left after 15 minutes no work done, the day after they took £150 from my credit card, when I complained they said that was the charge for coming to my home, no refund.
How this company is allowed to rob people like this is a disgrace, be aware any company that asks for your credit card details beforehand, just don't trust them, for me a lesson learned the hard way.

Patronising!!!!!! So i wrote a review today which I felt was fair and accurate. However this firm has once again answered me without actually telling me anything. My questions to this firm were... what does a boiler service include? Why do you charge more than London prices..... what were the co2 readings and how did the engineer get them without checking...... i also asked if they were members of alternative dispute resolutions. They did answer that and said no they deal with issues internally. However I did ask if they would be willing to use this service to sort the problems. However no answer to that. So it seems this firm only answers to some queries then tries to cover themselves by fabricating paper work. Obviously unsigned or unseen by myself. Until now that is. Over a month later this paperwork turns up. My review is my personal views. Do NOT use this firm.

Required CCTV inspection of our sewer was quoted £195.00 +vat fixed price one hour. Plus they would provide a DVD that never arrived. Our security system logged engineer on site for 33mins Had to provide card details up front !!!
They charged us for 3 hours work £702.00 direct to our card. RIP OFF.

Used this company to get rid of a bedbug infestation, cost almost £400, some guy came out in his car with a load of chemicals in the boot, no company vehicle with a logo, looked dodgy to start with. The process did not work and ERG refused to do a re-visit even though it is standard practice to do so, they asked for full payment again, of course we did not want to lose another £400.
This company Is a despicable company that only uses cowboy contractors.

Left us with no electricity for over 24 hours. Had to ring next morning to see if someone was coming out. We thought we were being overcharged for parts, the electrician didnt say had put in two parts ( we had paid for one). and when contacted this company took over a week to respond to us with the answer. Very bad customer service.

I called in a panic to ask for someone to remove a wasps' nest. They quoted an exorbitant price for a same-day fix and, needless to say, nobody ever turned up. At 7.30pm I called a local guy, and he arrived within half an hour and did the business at a fraction of the cost quoted by ERG. Today's learning - find a local contractor and save lots of money.

I had my head in a boiler with a leaky pipe thinking I’d isolated the water, hadn’t and it was spewing water still whilst on the phone to this company.
Siri rung these and I had to speak to a chap on the phone who was friendly but didn’t explain their fees at all just said it’s this and this plus parts, nothing about t and c’s, nothing about minimum charges and said plumber would be there by 7pm but more like 6.30pm. Gave card details and back to trying to stop a leak going all down my walls and into the kitchen below.
They’d sent an email to my junk box with an invoice unbeknownst to me as I was still head in a boiler trying to isolate the water.
45 mins later engineer was there, stayed 16 mins as my cctv shows and all he said was “it’s a leak mate, I can’t fix it as I need to order a part and that comes in a pack of 5 so that’s £208 or £50 if you get it off eBay and then another call out fee. Totalling £500.
I then called another firm who managed to stem it and temporarily patch it up so I could use it short term until I could afford another part as I’d been ripped off £198! They even said this firm try hiding behind terms and conditions which they send out willy nilly and don’t explain anything properly and advised to ask for half my money back or report this firm to CIPHE. The other firm quoted £40 for a 90degree elbow joint 22mm into a 3/4 plus £70 for labour of which they were able to source quickly of I needed it.
You try complain to ERG and all you get off their live chat is utter tripe about terms and conditions and that they’ve investigated things and found the customer is in the wrong. What happens if I was an 80 year old pensioner or visually impaired and can’t use the internet etc? A week now I’ve been fobbed off with promises of supervisors and managers ringing me and nothing but I WILL NOT BE FOBBED OFF! Seems to be a common theme on here that this firm rip people off and fob them off. All they say is call centre scripts and don’t accept anything you say. You ask to speak to a manager and they just ignore you and fob you off as above. AVOID AT ALL COSTS and go elsewhere!!! Do not use this firm even if your life or boiler system depends on it. Cowboys. *****AVOID, AVOID, AAAAAVVVVVVOOOOOOIIIIIIIIDDDDDD!!!!!!!****** I will be going to CIPHE about this firm and will get at least half my money back
