Well equipment gym
Well equipment gym in Colchester, good value for money, classes are good and friendly staff. My only criticism is that it is not cleaned often or well enough.

A gym to suit everyone…
I am a mature lady who decided after two hip replacements to get fit again. I was unable to bend my knees or exercise standing up but after two years at energie I have a new lease of life and can do everything I could when I was young. You can have as much help or a little as you want from the staff and I feel comfortable going there. it has everything I need and I am very grateful for it.

Gym it’s self is ok
Gym it’s self is ok , a little surprised that we didn’t get an induction to show us the way to use the machines,but instead we got a free short personal training session ,clearly to promote their personal training sessions

Great gym
I really enjoy the gym and the Zumba class. All the staff are helpful at all times and cheerful. Weight lifting training at the moment with Leigh and Cannot believe how much I am improving in strength and stamina.

Experience today - no blue paper towel in one of the dispensers in the gym. No loo roll in one of the ladies toilets. Mirror and sinks in ladies toilet not clean. All equipment I used on gym floor was ok.

The changing rooms need to be refreshed. And the equipment could be a bit cleaner. In fact I think it all needs freshening up

I only use the gym for body combat
I only use the gym for body combat, instructors are good only downfall is the music system breaking down fairly regularly.

Friendly and welcoming staff.
After being away from the gym for a couple of years, the folks at energie have been incredibly welcoming and have helped me get back into the swing of things. They have helped me to understand the equipment and are always happy to help with any issues I encounter.

Staff are very friendly, but sometimes i’ve found certain areas are not always clean, with dirty tissues and old bottles left behind

Costs going up
Costs going up. Gym too packed for amount of changing space. Fitness instructors use more than one piece sometimes upto 3 pieces of
Equipment at one time when we had email telling us not too.
Gym tidy most of the tine but locks damaged in changing rooms. Often lack of shower gel in the evening.

With a little effort and maintenance this would be a 4/5 star review
This review is no reflection on the staff at energie fitness Colchester. Instructors and staff are great! The main bug bear is with maintenance of the gym and facilities.
Having been a member of this gym for a couple of years there are a few things to note that need attention. This could so easily be a 4/5 star review but for a few regular issues that need attending to.
There are consistent issues with toilets in both changing rooms. The spin bikes are poorly maintained with the use they get they need servicing far more regularly and checking before people use them(issues include loose seats, computers not working, loose handlebars and strange noises when peddling). The music system in the studio is currently not working more than it is working and regularly breaking down during classes which is extremely frustrating for instructors and members. The general cleanliness of the gym could be vastly improved especially with the current news on the impending coronavirus. There has been a lack of cleaning towel to use to clean equipment after use. This applies to the gym and all facilities.
In a couple of months time if things have changed for the better I will be happy to amend my star rating.
