After researching mobility scooters l decided that the efoldi explorer would suite me best. I am a pensioner of limited means so a new efoldi was out of the question. I purchased a used one 6 years old from someone who had purchased directly from efoldi. I used it for a few short trips, it was all l had hoped for.
Unfortunately the scooter suddenly started moving as soon as the key was turned at a slow speed unaffected by the throttle.
I contacted efoldi and was told that no spare parts are available for this scooter. I was amazed at the response for a scooter less than 6 years old. So if buying a second hand efoldi scooter, or if your 6 year old scooter develops a fault beware.

I have been an efoldi user for 4years now,and the experience has been tremendous, I have used the efoldi lite on trains, tubes, and flights, the convenience of riding to the cabin door is fantastic..on long haul the scooter can go in overhead cabins if you wish..now onto sales and servicing ,the staff are second to none, always go out of there way to help.
The lite itself is very robust and covers most terrain that anyone would want to travel. I would highly recommend.

We are very pleased with the repair service from eFoldi. The collection and return were prompt, the price was fair, and the communication was excellent. The repair was done professionally, with staff who were both proficient and efficient. Our wheelchair now works better than ever. Highly recommended

I had a recent negative experience with my eFoldi Lite which drove me, in outrage, to Trustpilot. I was going to have a rant and give one star. On reflection, I have given four stars because, overall, my eFoldi experience has been a very good one. So, like a school report, I will start with the positive and and finish with the "could do better."
My purchase experience was very good. Somebody took brought round the Lite and Explorer and allowed me to put each through its paces. I had been considering the Explorer (then known as the 1.5) but, having tried them both, decided to buy the Lite. The trial was really helpful.
Despite weakness in my arms and legs, I am able to sit in the car boot and pull the folded scooter in - on my own. The independence that this gives me in being able to go shopping, to football matches, join outings with friends and family, etc is of immeasurable value. I have been on quite a few holidays with it, including airline travel.
11 months into its guarantee, a piece from the column latch snapped off and I emailed for a replacement. This arrived, by post, free of charge, the very next day. Excellent customer service.
6 months past guarantee, my scooter broke down while on holiday in Lanzarote. My son phoned eFoldi and an engineer contacted him with instructions of how to make a temporary repair. Again, great customer service.
Now for the negative. The fault was a snapped cable. On examination, this cable is extremely thin. Also, every time the tiller was turned, the cable twisted and sometimes caught the frame. This seems like a design fault; the cable is set up to snap.
My brother-in-law strengthened the repair by use of solder but I decided to return to eFoldi, who effected a full repair. I was shocked to be told that the overall cost (including labour and carriage) would be £697. Having expressed my shock, the cost was reduced to £597. This was still much more than I was expecting to pay for replacing a snapped cable. I was informed that this was because they could not simply fit a new cable. The cable was an integral part of the motor so I was having to pay for a unit comprising the cable, motor and front wheel. Again, I consider this to be a design fault and I am having to pay for it.
On examination of the repaired scooter, the wiring now seems to be routed differently and I am hoping that this will make it more robust.
So, overall, the eFoldi Lite has facilitated life-changing improvements in my disability experience and I am delighted to own it. I hope that the negative aspects of this review will be taken as constructive criticism.
Two things on my wish list would be:
1. An ignition key to discourage theft and naughty grandchildren. It would also mean that some airlines would allow me to leave the battery in the scooter with the hold luggage. The battery is quite heavy to be part of my cabin luggage.
2. A means of disabling the beep when I am reversing.
So, thank you, eFoldi for all the positives. I'm looking forward to seeing future developments.

eFoldi repaired and returned my scooter in just a few days. The price was good (it was quite a major repair!), and the communication was excellent. The team are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, and the scooter is brilliant. It has changed my life by making virtually everywhere accessible to me. I can't praise them enough.

We took the EFOLDi Lite on the new Icon of the Seas cruise ship ( Royal Caribbean ) This is the best mobility scooter out for travel. At 33 lbs its easy to pickup because you can fold it to the size of a small suitcase and pull it in trolley mode very easily, even take it up a flight of stairs! I was able to navigate the whole ship and do excursions with one battery! I will also add the efoldi travel case, backpack, and footpegs are a much needed addition for the savy traveler!

Buying the Efoldi has given me freedom once again.
After an active life walking many long distance trails and the Cumbrian mountains, arthritis caught up with me. My knees made it so my outdoor life was over.
I saw the Efoldi advertisement on line and decided to go for one, I bought the explorer, then once again I was out and about because the Efoldi folds up and unfolds so easy from out of my car boot and the same for public transport.
After a while I did have a problem with my much loved machine but with a couple of emails Efoldi arranged for it to be picked up for repair, it was repaired and sent back in less then a week.
So there SERVICES are second to none, I was soon whizzing around again, getting out and whizzing up the seaside proms.

First, I am not an efoldi customer! I WAS going to be until I read the efoldi replies to unhappy customers. Not just reading customer gripes, but especially efoldi responses. I was brought up to put my hand up if I messed up, but also spent over 20yrs in various uk courts. Noteable points for me on efoldi replies: blame the dealer, blame the place used, blame when company was young, blame not suitable for user, blame customer & not enough of 1. Efoldi accepting own responsibility 2. saying how efoldi will put things right. Its up to efoldi to choose a good dealer who obeys consumer rights & follows efoldi rules for sales, & experience to advise about product.3. Need to gain customer trust in after sales. Just watching tv ad about efoldi range.. which says all reviews online are great, using this to inspire confidence! Does not seem true here, nor inspires me to buy. Not intended as anything but constructive criticism & purely my own conclusion. Ive also seen efoldi in action in real life & spoken to owners. Many love their efoldi, but some have bad tales. 14m sounds a long way, but its not as far as you think (im an experienced scooter/ power chair user). You HALVE this if you rely on it to get home again without a car. Terrain affects distance, esp uphill, User weight esp if you add shopping. 17kilo (lightest model) is still over 37Llbs, one of lightest I know of, but that isn't light to lift if person not fit.Of course efoldi want to defend their product, company & promote sales. That's right to do, but building sales & improving comany reputation is surely best done by honesty, clarity & direct action to put things right, including choosing suitable dealers/removing those who don't meet efoldi standards. Despite all this, got to give credit to efoldi for replying to each customer & saying sorry for bad experiences; that is huge..just need revise replies to be practical from customer stance as well as company's & I'm aware customer is NOT always right! Gutted tbh as i really wanted this to be my solution. I have a Jazzy, another 'light' power chair, but about 47lbs, so my girl pals in 70s can't lift it. Good but with own negatives. Hope efoldi improve product/company stance & find this comment helpful. Not writing efoldi off...just waiting for progress! Remember this just MY opinion so far & not even a customer! Val.
My eFoldi Lite has transformed my life - I love it - I call it my Mean Machine. I whizz up to a bus stop, fold it up in 5 seconds flat and pull it on board to the amazement of the bus driver. I have never had a trip out without at least one compliment from someone. Disaster struck one day and it stopped working but with the help of my son and brilliant advice from Mel in the eFoldi Technology dept. he fixed it and we now have reserve leads and instructions how to fit them in case it happens again. After sales service is second to none. Highly recommended and worth every penny. I also have a love of well engineered designs and this definitely fits that description.

I drove down last week to have my e Foldi explorer serviced. Brian was extremely helpful and the cost was far and away extremely reasonable, taking into account the care everybody expresses here. I also had to buy a key to remove the battery, which I did not have. This caused have given me a real problem in a holiday to Goa.
As for the scooter. It is in a league of its own. It’s a fast unit, with the longest possible range available. This is important, so for example if you get off a cruise ship with it, you want to be guaranteed that it won’t run out of juice in a foreign holiday destination. 10/10

I had been delighted with the lightweight eFoldi Lite, easy to lift into car. However, after 7 uses the magnet on the tiller failed (it was loose inside the compartment), would not stay put when folded. The dealer and manufacturer claimed I had broken it, a few weeks old and no apology from either, was not good on their part and has set the tone. We returned to store where the patronising owner (typical way of speaking to older or disabled folk), really did not have a clue about fixing it, my husband had to provide guidance of how a magnet works, this was a 5 hour round trip from our home. The magnet is glued in place, it was then glued back to position. 3 months on, the clip that fixes the tiller in place when folded is limp, the spring has broken, once again I am accused of breaking it. The store does not seem to recognise or understand the guarantee process or the law regarding faulty goods and was insistent that I pay £50 to have it collected. I have contacted Consumer Rights about the matter and they have advised that I am entitled to a repair or refund when the product is faulty and under 6 months old. It went wrong when I was away from home, alone, I was worried and anxious of how I would manage, as it would not stay folded, thanks to kind and helpful people I managed with a strap around the scooter to keep it together. I am left disappointed with the poor quality of an item that cost £2500 and the attitude towards me that I have done something wrong is unforgivable, poor business practice. I do not recommend this scooter or the manufacturer, lastly be very careful of when you buy from any mobility store, they are there to make money from the elderly and vulnerable with their tactics to take as much from you as possible so transparent.
An example of the manufacturer attitude shown in their response below. As stated a conversation with eFoldi regarding the magnet was negative and ended in an argument. Courtesy is something they could learn the meaning of; Let me be clear my opinion is that both eFoldi and the dealer are bad, attempts to blame the buyer or charge the buyer when item is under guarantee is not worth 1 star, which is the minimum here.
Many thanks for resolving our issue

We have both got eFOLDI explorer scooters and although they are a reasonable product, the aftersales service is non existent, the scooter needs constant maintanence as the screws work loose. The scooter is not very stable and although we have not fallen off we have heard of several people that have, also been told of finger injuries while folding and unfolding the scooter. Trying to sell the explorers but nobody wants to buy. Bad mistake we made when we bought two of these things
I recently had a power issue with my eFoldi. Contacted eFoldi accordingly and was pleasantly surprised to receive a reply during the festive break . Was advised to bring it in on their return to work. Issue was resolved efficiently and quickly. Superb customer service .

First of all the product. It is lightweight, well made, very easy to fold/unfold, and great to manoeuvre. The assistant control at the back makes life so easy for when my husband is unable to drive himself. We have had scooters in the past but this powerchair has really changed our life as I am happy to take him shopping etc as getting the chair in and out of the car is so easy.
We recently had the chair serviced and it needed two new arms. Sending it back was a doddle. A box was delivered by DPD, it was collected the next day, repaired quickly and returned back to me.
I am truly delighted with the service received and also the chair itself and highly recommend it. It is expensive but you honestly get what you pay for as this chair is far superior to anything I have ever owned.

We bought a secondhand eFoldi lite and it is excelent to transport because it is very compact when folded, and very easy to drive. It is very fit for purpose Unfortunately it developed a fault, probably my fault. I arranged with the service people to drop it off whilst I was passing by the area but they suggested it could be fixed while I waited. It was fixed while I waited. The service was friendly and I only had to pay a very modest labour charge, parts fitted were free of charge. Does not get better than that. Because of experience with the scooter and repair service I would certainly consider buying another if required.

I bought the efoldi wheelchair about 18 months ago and, to be perfectly honest, the only thing it has going for it is the weight. It’s easy for helpers to get it in and out of the car.
As an amputee I find myself worrying if it’s going to tip backwards when going over the ‘speed bump’ type ramps built for disabled people to go over, the one I’m actually thinking of is on a hospital car park which is there for the disabled to use. I usually have to ask for anyone accompanying me to walk behind me ‘just in case’, I have no problem with these particular ramps in my self-propelled chair which seems far more stable.
The next observation are the front wheels, start away on a speed other than slow and the chair is wobbling from side to side until the wheels have ‘calmed down’ and then they’re pointing in the right direction to allow me to quicken the speed and go in the direction I wish to go in. I usually give anyone standing close instructions to mind their toes.My husband always rolled his eyes at me when I complained about this odd quirk in the machine but on having hurt his leg a few weeks ago and used, it he now agrees with me after uttering ‘it a wonder you haven’t killed yourself’.
Now for the batteries, they are great as long as there are no hills to climb, as are most electric chairs. On visiting an outdoor museum recently , they held up well going round. The warning lights were on green, for about 5 minutes travel they went to dual yellow, went to go up a short incline of about 8feet and it cut out. My husband had to park me in the chair out of the way while he changed the battery. The battery is actually underneath the seat,at back, which is impossible for anyone who can’t stand upright and bend to replace …… which makes the tv advert about having the freedom to do as you like somewhat misleading.
To sum up great for the weight but that’s about it.
