We found Edmonds Commerce after an extensive search for a competent PHP developer to update our online store.

The nature of the work was complicated, and probably not very well articulated by us, but Edmonds broke through that with the right questions posed in the right way. We felt we'd found the right company to work with.

The work began and was completed roughly when expected and within the assessed timeframe and budget. Edmonds not only completed the update and rebuilt our deployment process so that we retained control, but they provided very useful suggestions as to what should happen next. Of course, developer priorities and business priorities (and capabilities) don't always match, but the suggestions were welcome and form part of a longer-term development plan.

Work has halted with Edmonds for now as we deal with other covid knock-on issues in the business, plus we are integrating a 2nd developer into our site in order to ramp up our development work when we are ready to forge ahead again, but we keep the lines of communication open ready for that work to begin again as soon as possible.

While it has not been frictionless working with the team, their competence cannot be doubted. Having worked with many different companies and developers I would rate Edmonds very highly in comparison and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Really good developers, organised system for sharing information, and organising the tasks you want to achieve.

They also make sure all is done on a staging site before putting live. These guys know their stuff and we upgraded our current system several levels, without too many issues, and the issues we had were rectified quickly. If you're looking for a trustworthy developer who knows their stuff, look no further.

We needed to engage a Magento developer to take over our ongoing maintenance, bug fixing, updates and occasional improvements. We are a small company but have never hesitated to invest in our e-commerce site. Our experiences with previous developers have often been frustrating, because of a host of issues from poor resource allocation, inconsistent project management, unreliable communication and unexplained delays.
I have had just the opposite experience in the short time we’ve been using Edmonds. Communication and prioritization are clear, tasks are finished quickly, and I also get the sense that they vigilantly use industry best practices. I attribute our successful experiences to the following:
- My access to JIRA is a godsend. I can now see and control the workflow and communicate directly with the developer. As a project manager by nature, I much prefer to have access to the developer then to work with a gatekeeper project manager. I was never given access to the PM system in the past.
- My developer has a sense of urgency that I’ve never experienced before. He is one step ahead of me most of the time.
- We are not constantly dealing with sales people trying to sell us this or that package. When we run out of hours, we buy more. My time with Edmonds is spent working with my developer, not having to project manage the project manager or set aside valuable time to rehash to-do lists or speculate about future work.
- Even though we are a small client, I feel that we are important to Edmonds.

We started developing our website in early 2014, we realised it’s a highly technical and bespoke system and we worked through two different IT companies, one of which was a highly recommended team in Singapore, which is actually where we are based. They failed totally, an utter disaster after 8 months of pain. We found Edmonds (3rd time lucky) and breathed a sigh of relief, as their competence was immediately apparent. We have now worked with Edmonds for 18 months, our site is up and working beautifully and we are planning to further enhance our web-developments with Edmonds. Extremely competent, I highly recommend them.

When we first thought about revamping our site Edmonds was one of the companies we shortlisted.
With regret we did go with a local company initially and what a mistake that was. I should of gone with Edmonds from the start.
