Shady business tactics
DSW sent me a coupon for $30 to use in store or online. Of course, it did seem a bit too good to be true, but I tried using it on their website when I found a pair of shoes I wanted, but the code they said to enter was rejected with no explanation as to why. I went into the store to try and find out and the clerk steered me to a list of exclusions. The exclusions list was just about every brand in the store although she did say that the total line wasn't necessarily excluded, just some of the models within that brand. Well, good luck with that. The way of doing business is shady to say the least. If they want to lure people into buying their shoes, give them a lower priced coupon that will work for anything. As it is, such shady business tactics are a turn off, and DSW will no longer be a first choice for shoes.

DSW shipping process is terrible. I will never order online again. They use the cheapest shipping method possible. I’ll be surprised if I ever get the shoes I ordered. 🥵

When I finally found 3 pairs that I thought took promotion was disappointed at register to just be told they don’t apply. I said none of them have disclaimer sign & they said it’s listed online. Be careful with your personal information with this place! I have an email address I have had for 20 years and a phone number I have had for at least 10. They just recently decided to add someone else's information to my account at DSW. I can now see that 'Tiffany' just ordered some shoes- I can see their last 4 of their card and their home address.
I reported this to the BBB and DSW's answer was to change the login email address. That's it! And then proceeded to send me purchase notifications that Tiffany bought something and it is now shipping.
Someone in store associated their account with my phone number and email.
Ridiculous. Do not give them your information- pay cash in store if you have to get something from them and if they ask for your zip or phone number, don't do it.
This experience hurt my soul
I ordered a pair of shoes, they sent me two different colors and two left feet. They somehow managed to at least get the correct brand and style of shoe, sadly they could not manage any of the other details. Talking to customer service was an ABYSMAL experience and time that I can never get back from my life. Sticking my hand in a meat grinder would have been more pleasant and possibly more helpful. They could not help me exchange the shoes, my only option was to return, they could not tell me where my nearest store was nor what inventory they might have, they were unable to really be helpful at all aside from telling me to return the shoes. I ordered a second, correct pair, not in the color I wanted because magically they were all out and 48 hours later decided to cancel the order because I found the correct shoes elsewhere and not shockingly customer service was neither helpful nor polite and unwilling to pick up a phone and find a way to cancel the order. They "had limitations". Perhaps they should consider not using people in India to do their customer service. I will NEVER step foot in or order online from this company again. I am so disappointed in how awful this company has become. Do not waste your time.

I recently ordered 4 pairs of children’s shoes from DSW. One was a completely different shoe than what I ordered and two were defective. Tried to return one pair at the DSW store in Huntsville, AL and they wouldn’t accept them. No more purchases from me.

I recently bought a pair of shoes from DSW and it was charged to my card account on 09/03/2024.
I still have not received the shoes and my contact with DSW has been useless.
The shipping company tracking tells me that the package is still in Trenton,NJ with no movement.
DSW has become a very unreliable online store.
I will resolve this issue and never buy from them again.

I bought the Hey Dude flip flops from DSW back in the middle of April so they are just 4 months old and the strap on the flip flop came completely out of the hole. Normally when I have flip flops I wear them until they have holes in the bottom. I will never buy hey dude flip flops every again. You are wasting your money if you buy them. Unless you are looking to buy a shoe that only last 4 months. I called Hey Dude and they stated I needed to call DSW even though hey dude manufactures these shoes. I called DSW and they stated that it has been past 90 days and that there is nothing that they can do either. So DSW also sells a product that last less than 6 months. This company needs to go out of business. The WORST customer service. I ordered a pair of dress loafers and paid $19 in shipping to be delivered the 2nd business day. They arrived three days after they were ordered and the packaging was damaged, no packing slip, and there was one Nike athletic shoe inside of a Nike box. I took it back to the store and showed the manager and he gave me a sob story about how he was going to be “hit” for this. DO NOT buy anything from them either in store or online. It is the worst store in every way possible.

Ordered a pair of shoes on Friday, On Sunday received an email from DSW stating that they were still processing my order... so I called Customer Service to cancel, I was then informed that they could not cancel because it was scheduled to be shipped on Mondy at 2:30pm. When I asked why that wasn't stated in the email about problems processing my order Customer Service stated it was due to confusion. Later Sunday night and on Monday morning I received two emails stating my order has been cancelled. On Monday night I received an email from DSW stating that they were sorry but my order would be delayed due to processing problems. I emailed back stating it had been cancelled and was informed that it was not cancelled but just a problem at their end. So I asked if it could be cancelled now since its Monday night and it was due to be shipped that afternoon. They said not at this time because it is about to be shipped. Tuesday I received an email from DSW apologizing for the delay in processing my order and I would be notified when it would be shipped. Again I asked for the order to be cancelled and DSW again stated that they cannot due to the order about to be shipped. This dance continued onto to Wed. when I just asked for a return authorization to ship it back as soon as it arrives but this request was denied by DSW stating that I had to wait until the order was actually delivered. In the meantime I received another notification that there was another delay in shipping due to problems with processing. Said item that was denied cancellation on Sunday due to it being delivered by Monday at 2:30pm was actually finally delivered on Friday morning some 5 days later.. at which time it was immediately returned for a refund by driving 20 minutes to a FedEx drop off. I will now and forever have a bitter taste of dealing with DSW and the brand that gave me such joy as a child... Hush Puppy loafers

I'm so disappointed with this store. I had place the same other over and over. Everytime I received my order the shoes seeing like they had been used and never fail the shoe boxes are all broken always. When I go to the store to return, they always give me a hard time before they accept my return because they don't believe me that I had receive them like that. When I tried to place the same order they never want to honor the same discount I got before base on whatever information the previous agent write on for their convenience to finished the order. I always end up upset with a headache. 😡 I'm done with this store. DSW needs to do better, improve.

ALL of my experiences as Ocala, FL DSW are great! Their customer service is the best of any store that I shop. I returned a pair of shoes today that I purchased in November, 2023. It was out of the return window, but the manager worked with me so I could return the shoes.

I ordered 3 pairs of Clark's shoes through the DSW website. About a week later, the order was ready for in-store pickup. The email stated "1 pair ready for pickup" and "Cancelled" for the other 2 pairs. No reason given. No previous emails sent regarding cancellation of the other shoes. I called DSW for an explanation. The person was difficult to understand and clearly in a call center. They also seemed to be reading from a script. Not at all helpful. I will be returning the pair sent. Due to such poor customer service, I do not wish to give DSW my business. I have ordered the shoes from the Clark's website, which is what I should have done in the first place. An addendum: I went to the store to tell them I would not be taking the shoes sent and why--very disappointed about how the order was handled and the inadequate customer service. I spoke to the assistant manager, David. David came across as somewhat defensive, but mostly uninterested & uncaring--another example of the company's poor customer service. Upon completion of the return, I started to leave. Without looking up from the computer screen, David flippantly said, "Sorry that happened." Yup, I'm done with DSW.

Such a bad experience in every online order, I used to order frequently but stopped for a while.
When I decided to come back and made an order for 3 shoes at once
1- on the first one and after 5 days and while checking the status, it say order canceled , and the shoes is no longer available and while they applied the 10$ coupon on that shoes I lost the coupon
2- second shoes and after 5 days it still says we received your order and working on it though it says 4-5 working days
3- the 3rd shoes and while ordered on the 7th of July and it says 4-5 business days , now it says arriving 16 jul !!!!!!

I ordered shoes fair and square. The shoes were $35, a great deal. usually they aren $50+.
A day later dsw unilaterally cancels my order while admitting that their internal efforts failure caused the cancellation. They gave me a 20% discount to appease a defrauded dsw customer. 20 % discount is offered sll over their website and accross the web. They reneg on a legit purchase then add insult to injury. Dsw admits they screwed up, why am i suffering from their mistake.

After over two months of going back and forth with DSW support, I finally gave up. We are Canadians, and we purchased our daughter's shoes in the LA store during our vacations in CA. Those white shoes started to discolor with the bright orange stains (probably from the inside material) and are basically ruined and useless. The only solution from DSW support was to recommend that we go to the store in LA (4000 km) and talk to the manager.
