Nightmare

One hour wait in line to get to the counter only to be told they didn’t have the passenger van I had reserved. Terrible experience.

Plus - Very good customer service, free cancellations

Minus - Double the amount for Coverages especially for Complete coverage and no upfront visibility. So even though you think you can save some bucks it will be increased if you take their coverages.

Scope for Improvements - Tidiness of car before handover, tire pressure checks, more recent cars and trims with added safety features like blind spot monitors.

Overall - I am rating a 3 ⭐

A lot of hidden fees

A lot of hidden fees, I would never rent here again. Paid way too much money for a 3 day rental. What a rip off.

Good company, easy to communicate with. They seemed a little understaffed on the day I picked up my car, but otherwise the customer service was phenomenal. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The shuttle came quickly after calling. The rental car was brand new and clean. Agreement instructions were clear. Would definitely use this company again!

I had the worst experience ever!

I had the worst experience ever!
Both with customer service and the folks who presumably should help resolve my issues.

Make sure you see the contract before you sign anything. They tell you very minor snippets of the contract to get you to sign, when you ask for the contract, they promise to email it to you which they never did then use said contract against you when you have issues with their vehicle.

They tell you you are responsible for tires, battery and other parts on the car.
I was stranded on the road heading to an important event because their car broke down in the middle of the road. Battery keeps dying.

They refused to provide an alternative ride for me to get to my destination. On top of that, they told me I should drive that same car back to their facility in order for me to get a replacement knowing that the car had broken down twice and then shut off on its own after I got help to move the car from the middle of the road in traffic and jumpstart the battery. I explained to them that doing what they ask would place me in an unsafe and dangerous situation on the road given that the car has proven to break down in the middle of the road and shut off on its own after I got it jump started while waiting for their help. They didn’t care.
They still contended that I should drive the car back to them.

I had to have the car towed back to them and they refused to compensate me for the time I had left on my rental service or replace the car or even the kind courtesy of providing me with a simple Uber or taxi ride.

They charged my credit card for a half tank of fuel knowing that they gave me the car with the tank about half-full and I only used about 1 gallon of that half tank. They refused to gave me back my money. Again, I had to tow the car back to them because the car broke down due to no fault of my own, I didn’t get a chance to replace that 1 gallon of fuel I used during the entire time I had the car.
That is very unscrupulous to charge someone for what they did not use. Also considered bad business practice for not waiving the 1 gallon used because I was prevented from refueling that 1 gallon since the car broke down.

Goes without saying that I would NEVER use them again or recommend them to anyone.

Very, very bad people to deal with. Please be careful, try not renting cars from them and never agree to taking an insurance from them. As it stands, I am trying to file complaints with all public companies I can. I have gone to complain with the BBB, the Attorney general on NY. This Drivo company should not be hurting the public in that way. They are thieves.
I booked for 2 days from June 21 to 22nd.
Already had insurance but had to get "more insurance", which was okay. The car was 125.00 and he said the two days with insurance would be 164,00 so I took it, no worries. Then was told they were giving me an upgrade as a courtesy because and there would be no extra charge. Looking at my credit card, I noticed they charged twice. The 125.00 and the 164.00. When I called it was said I requested 3 different types of insurance. This is not even right because I already have insurance from my cars which I told them. Please guys, stay clear from Drivo, you will almost always get scammed from them. I am trying to deal with my credit card now, hopefully they can help me not to pay those people.

I would not recommend

I would not recommend. My flight was delayed, so I called ahead of time and asked to extend the pickup time. They agreed to extend the time over the phone. I had to wait for the pickup van to arrive so I could go to the rental place. Upon arrival, the agent told me that my reservation was canceled and I needed to rebook at a higher price. I had no choice but to pay extra. I did not choose the insurance they were offering. They gave a car that had a cigarette smell, a maintenance message was on, I could feel the bad brakes, and a low tire pressure sign was on. I didn't feel good driving the car. Also, their airport shuttle was delayed upon return, so I had to book a ride on Uber to the Airport.

ACE Rental Agency (a.k.a

ACE Rental Agency (a.k.a. Drivo) – Newark Liberty International Airport
I booked a minivan through my credit-card travel portal (powered by Booking.com). Unfortunately, the ground-transportation instructions in the confirmation email were flat-out wrong.

The Pickup Ordeal
* Misdirected location – The email told us to “wait at Passenger Pickup Zone 8 outside Terminal A.” After an extended wait with no shuttle in sight, I called ACE. Only then did I learn the shuttle is on-demand and actually departs from the P4 AirTrain station, not Zone 8.
* Extra hassle – We had to haul our luggage across the skybridge to the rental-car center, down a long corridor, then ride the AirTrain to P4, costing us nearly an hour before we ever reached the counter.
Tip: Call ACE/Drivo as soon as you land and head straight to P4.

At the Rental Facility
* Staff: Friendly and accommodating once we arrived.
* Facility: An aging, cramped building with no restroom; the waiting “lounge” is a tent tacked onto the side, offering little relief from summer heat.
* Vehicle readiness: Our minivan had just been returned and needed a quick wash, so we waited another hour. The van itself (a Chrysler Pacifica with 53 k miles) was mechanically sound but made the occasional odd noise.

Return Process
Smooth and uneventful. Shuttle back to the terminal arrived promptly.

Bottom Line
* Pros: Competitive pricing, helpful counter staff, straightforward return.
* Cons: Incorrect pickup instructions, no proactive communication, sub-par facility, extra wait for vehicle.
Would I rent from ACE/Drivo again? Maybe. If their rate is significantly lower than the majors, I’ll brave the shuttle logistics. But if prices are close, I’d pay a bit more for the convenience of walking straight across the skybridge to a mainstream agency.

Very bad experience from picking up the…

Very bad experience from picking up the car outside the airport, shuttle bus, picking up the car, car itself,calling customer service and providing a wrong address for dropping off the car I almost missed my plane. No shuttle bus before 6am ..all bad experience. Will never try Drivo again for sure. You guys need a lot to do!

Booking with this company was very easy

Booking with this company was very easy
They pick me up at the airport really quick shut me back to the car where at the counter was super fast and easy and the guys behind the counter were funny and helpful drop off the car was easy and then back to the airport. I’d say this was the fastest car rental place that I’ve ever used.

Not worth it

Already had insurance but had to get "more insurance". Then was told they were giving me an upgrade as a courtesy because they saw I had 2 kids with me, I'm thinking it's an suv but it was a sedan that wasn't car seat friendly at all and there wasn't a way to put the child lock on. When it came time to return the car there were no shuttles and we were forced to take an uber to the airport when they're supposed to provide shuttles to and from.

FAST SERVICE

FAST SERVICE ; How we all dread the waiting for airport pickup/drop-off, rental car counter and vehicle prep and delivery... Well pleasantly surprised how fast and efficient the staff was, Thanks for a Great Experience.

ps: even though there were some challenging situations/customers observed the TEAM handled them very well. Even accommodated us for our flight delays/changes

First

First, let me say the people working at the office location were spot on. got me out with my car in about 5 minutes. that part worked great!
the problem was getting to the office from Newark Airport. the email from booking.com had the incorrect directions to the pickup point for the shuttle. when I arrived and called for a pickup, it took 10 minutes on hold before someone spoke to me. he then told me I was in the wrong place and told me where the correct location was (opposite end of the airport). when I arrived at the new location and called again for a pickup, I was left on hold for over 30 minutes! I never spoke to anyone!! I happened to look outside and a shuttle pulled up. thankfully, we were able to squeeze on.
I would not rent from this location again. it’s too difficult getting the car.

Great prices

Great prices. Customer service is excellent. I ONLY rent cars from Drivo rent a car when I'm in NY/NJ areas because they have huge fleet to choose from and they provide the best bang for your buck.
