Tried to get a hire car from Belfast international. Staff couldn’t have been any less helpful and was extremely rude. Clearly states in email physical license then was refused the car cause we didn’t have the counterpart. Staff then lied and said we couldn’t use a DVA check code as DVA was closed but we went to a different company and they were able to sort us using the NI direct website. The staff clearly wanted to go home as this was at 8 oclock and we were the last booking of the day

Cannot fault these guys, Exactly how a business should be run. It was My first time in Belfast on business & I had spent hours before flying trying to find a reasonable / user friendly car hire business that doesn’t demand a massive deposit but also had the human touch. These guys ticked all boxes, I was promptly picked up at the airport with good communication, met Rick who was a very genuine & interesting guy that clearly cared about every part of what they do, valued customer care with an ethical approach. Will 100% use these guys again. I have read some of the other reviews and despite my analytical mind, cannot understand how anyone could have a genuine gripe with this business. It stands out, Keeping as my ‘Go To’ company in N.I. Thanks again & sorry for the delay on my review. Barry

In line with the previous reviews the sales pitches for extra insurance, over the top aggressive.

On my arrival day the shuttle service wasn't running. We'll refund you the taxi fare....

Oh we can't reduce your insurance payment by the cost of the fare, we'll give you a free upgrade... its not a free upgrade. It's money I should have been refunded.

My first car had mechanical issues? Tracking aggressive pulling to the left when I was driving it. Had to return to get it exchanged. This very much ate into my 1 day visit.

I was then told I'd be getting another car, an automatic, asked multiple times
"Can you drive an automatic"

Are you sure?

They then found a little manual for me to drive.

I wouldnt avoid this company entirely especially as a woman.

RK was very helpful and assisted us with everything we needed for our trip. Ensured we got everything we needed and was delightful to deal with.

Scammed with insurance and given an unsafe, unroadworthy car!! - breach of contract on their end.

Hired a car in Novemeber via Planet Rental Cars. Purchased Planet Rental Car's comprehensive insurance. Upon collection I was told this insurance was invalid and couldn't be used as Drivalia are required to insure me themselves and "a lot of people fall for that". They said I had two choices... be personally liable and pay a £1500 holding fee and come back to expensive charges for any scratches etc which Aaron, the sales rep, stated was likely given the length of hire or pay an additional non refundable £480 which covers eveything but the alloys. Wild as this was double the price of the car alone but it was sold as the better option. Planet Car Rental later confirmed their insurance is valid and explained I should've paid the £1500 holding fee as they would've covered any damage. They have spend months pursuing a refund of the missold insurance on my behalf.

Once I paid, they showed me the inspection report and assured me again eveything, bar the alloys, was covered and the car was good to go. Something in my gut told me to check the tires the next day... Thankfully I did as the two front tries were well past the limit!! Drivalia said this was an "oversight" and sent a tire technician to change them. The tire technician was equally disgusted and stated they would have caused a blow out, especially as I use the motorway daily. (photos on Google reviews)

Drivalia clearly don't carry out a proper inspection on their cars and have a record of scamming customers. Please listen to the other negative reviews!! They have yet to comment on selling an unsafe, unroadworthy car and have continued to lie regarding the missold insurance!! AVOID.

The whole process from start to finish was seamless and stress free. Tony went above and beyond to provide me with a great car at a great price. Overall a fantastic experience - I will use Drivalia again and again.

Avoid at all costs.

If you do end up with them, photo every spec and smudge on the car before accepting the keys.

They will use their very poorly taken phots of the car to try and justify them finding new damage on the car on return, if you have not taken their extra insurance.

Scam scam scam, 16% of their customers leave a 1star review. All is ok until something goes wrong. High pressure to take their insurance £32 to hire the car £180 for their insurance if you don’t pay it they do everything they can to stop you having a car. That insurance would cost you about £60 if bought elsewhere. Manager is a weasel and rang head office and told them I lied about not having any points. READ the bad reviews here and on Google, they often say they are a company with high pressure to take insurance and if you don’t you get the worst car or fined for scratches you didn’t do. Read the bad reviews not the good ones. Hope the weasel who lies whilst calling people liars gets to see this. Now laugh at their automated reply that makes it sound like they care.
