I’ve had my donkeys for 9 years bought from this woman. I paid for the donkeys and had them transported by our local horse mover.
The donkeys were 6 and 7 months old which checked out with their age told to me.
When our chap brought them back he said ‘don’t expect 2 beautiful miniature donkeys they are in a real state, I nearly didn’t bring them back and report Zoe. They were grazing on dust - this was the beginning of September, they had no shelter.
I got our local equine vets out to check the donkeys… full of lice off the scale underweight… riddled with worms, they even had fluke worm, which had unfortunately started to attack their livers. I spent weeks working of putting everything right and building trust with them, in the end I had to cut off all their matted fur.
The donkeys are a joy now, but, there are still elevations in their livers, which I’m hoping will not get too bad with age.
At the time I rang the donkey sanctuary in Sidmouth, for advice etc. (they were absolutely brilliant and even gave me local contacts) I told the sanctuary where I had got the donkeys from and they knew of her reputation already and were trying their hardest to shut her down.
I’ve recently met someone nearby who got a donkey from Zoe - once again same story with the state of the animal. Pleased to say all well now.
Don’t touch this woman with a barge pole is my advice.

This woman is a con artist. Be warned. do not buy or attempt to but anything online.

I had a great experience buying a beautiful donkey from Donkeys of Wales. Zoie is honest, knowledgeable, reliable and you can see she loves her donkeys. I had always heard great things about Donkeys of Wales but reading some recent reviews I had major concerns. However there was no need to worry as everything was perfect and just as Zoie said it would be. We now have a perfect addition to our family.

Bought a Jenny donkey from Donkeys of Wales which described her as friendly. When we got her home she was terrified of people and the passport did not match the name or microchip. Also found out later that she was in foal. It took a year and a half to get her to trust us. Do not buy from this dishonest and cruel dealer.

Zoie and Lynne Burton have been investigated for reasons of animal welfare and are responsible for the deaths and suffering of more donkeys than authorities should have ever allowed. There is a wealth of photographic pictures to back this assertion. Please, please do your research before being duped, conned, and given sick and scared donkeys from these awful awful women.

People are getting the courage to post their actual experiences now, the only reason they have been getting away with this for 10 years is because they threaten anyone who speaks up with threats of lawsuits, litigation, and even the police.

It took months to get our donkeys of wales victims right, and so much money in vet bills and time trying to teach these BABIES not to be absolutely terrified of everyone and everything.

Zoie Burton was a tenant renting sheds and fields on my late dads property for several years. He passed away last year and by this time she owed him a considerable amount of money. A year later she has finally left the property and not paid a penny in rent in the entire time. Not only this but it was brought to my attention that she has been lying to people she’s bought from and sold to. Selling unwell animals and not being honest about parentage of ‘mini’ donkeys. She has several CCJ’s against her and only a few months ago had a huge number of animals confiscated with an investigation currently ongoing against her. Please do not sell to or buy from these people. Search for her on the internet or Facebook and you will find countless complaints to back all of this up. Once I was contacted and made aware of what had been happening I myself went to look and saw and photographed countless animals in need of care. Avoid at all costs.

Please don’t believe the lies and wrong reviews on trustpilot regarding Donkeys of Wales website. The website is professional and legitimate and Miss Zoie Burton is a lovely professional woman. I have dealt with Zoie on many occasions and also found her to be truthful and reliable. An amazing place to visit for animal lovers, such beautiful well cared for donkeys which you’d see for yourself. It is always disappointing to see someone try to discredit someone else’s business for gain for themselves. I speak as I find and I as a customer have never had any issues with buying donkeys from Zoie. I have bought 4 donkeys over the last couple of years.

Con women used pictures of donkeys from the Internet when donkey arrived had neck bent over and hoves that had not been trimmed we bought this donkey for our daughter and it has cost a lot of money on vet bills to bring her health back to somewhere where it should be the tack and head coller that we payed a lot of money for was no where as described. Avoid this place

Ms Burton of 'Donkeys of Wales' advertises that she has 3 jacks at stud on her website. A beautiful black miniature jack is picture with the following text -

'Magic - Miniature Mediterranean
Magic is a gentleman with his jennies. He stands at 33", a compact cobby type, and is a rare pure black with full black cross. He is veterinary inspected. He is producing both coloured and plain foals to date and last year's foals can be seen.'

I have confirmed that the picture used is of a pure Mediterranean donkey named Hooper who stood at 31".

Hooper is DECEASED, born and died in the USA, and never left the USA.

Ms Zoie Burton is FRAUDULENTLY using an image of Hooper that does not belong to her and is claiming FRAUDULENTLY that she owns the donkey in question and is taking money in stud fees for a donkey that does not exist.

This is only one example of Ms Zoie Burton stealing copyrighted images of donkeys and donkey foals from other studs worldwide and claiming that they are her own donkeys.

Ms Burton is a liar, a con-woman, and one of the most dishonest equine traders in the United Kingdom. And that isn't even touching on her rampant neglect and abuse of the poor donkeys in her care.

Please don’t believe the lies on Donkeys of Wales website. The website looks very professional and legitimate yet there is proof that Zoie Burton is using images of donkeys that are not hers, have never been hers and in some case are already dead. The celebrity endorsements are also being investigated.
I was in the process of buying two beautiful miniature colts however when I asked for videos as I was unable to travel due to Covid, the lies started. Her homebred colts weren’t at home but elsewhere being looked after by an elderly lady who was shielding and was unable to use technology to video the colt with its mum. When I became suspicious I did some digging online I found many others that had been duped by Ms Burton and Donkeys of Wales. I am so glad I realised before handing over any money. There are cases of donkeys being ill and not looked after, false passports, non-miniatures being sold as pure bred miniatures registered with the MMDA, horses and Donkeys being sold as younger than they actually were, the list goes on.
Trading standards are aware and there have been court cases as mentioned in other reviews.
Please beware and stay clear of Donkey of Wales

We purchased 2 donkeys in September 2019. We had no experience and so were very nieve. On receipt of the donkeys we had them checked by the vet who found that the one is older than what her passport states, she also has 2 different microchips. Both donkeys were very nervous, had skin complaints, riddled with lice, scarring from sunburn. They had problems with their feet, hadn't been vaccinated, full of worms and had never seen a dentist. It took a long time to get them to trust us and get them into good health. Zoie also got paid twice for tge donkeys but claimed not to have received the one payment. She then claimed in court that my donkeys cost £2000 not £1000. I have successfully obtained a CCJ against her but she is now claiming that she doesn't work due to ill health. On visiting the site we noted that there were no field shelters in the fields and the ground was soft and muddy with no hardstanding available. The barn was crammed inside with more donkeys and foals. She offered us a foal that was only 1 week old and said we could take her and mum and then she would come to our farm to breed from mum again and then take her away when weaned. We witnessed a lame pony that was in a shocking state aswell as other animals requiring treatment. The passports are never registered to her despite her having owned the animals for some years. We have also witnessed adverts placed on Preloved with photos of donkeys not belonging to her being advertised.
